Calm before the storm 2

Entering the ballroom, Drew was hit with a feeling of Déjà vu.

He groaned quietly. 'Teens and their unusual love for gossip.'

[They don't possess the entertainment you once possessed. Gotta pass the time somehow.]

'Doesn't mean I have to like it.' The spark of rage within him was ready to blow up. 'I'm tired, I stink, I can't find someone to unlock my Aura, I'm the talk of people, and I'm hungry. This day can not get any worse.'

[Did you just...?]

Drew facepalmed. 'I did.'

Bam!

"Where is he!" shouted his ever furious blond huntress who scrutinized the area with a glare. "I saw him enter. Where is he!"

A brave soul raised his hand and earned her attention, leaving him half-whimpering. "H-he d-disappeared as s-soon as you walked in."

Checking one last time, she left the room with a grunt. Her angry footsteps were heard leaving even after the door closed.

"So sensitive. It was just a kiss. Sheesh." The masked teen shook his head in disappointment. "People these days."

His statement gained the amusement of many who were paying attention, including one busty blonde. Remembering her time in the interrogation room with Glynda, Ruby was more intimidated than before from witnessing the woman's fury.

"I have got be friends with that guy," she commented to the fear of her little sister.

"Yang, no. He's crazy!"

Yang let out a giggle. "Calm down. He's courageous. Not crazy."

"H-he kissed Professor Goodwitch!"

"Thus he's brave." 'Ruby, Ruby. You think there's any guy here with balls larger than his?'

"I can't believe you're defending him."

"I'm not. I just think that he would be fun." With a roll of her eyes, Ruby went back to her scribbling. "So what are you doing again?"

"Nothing. Just writing a letter to the gang back in Signal. I promised to tell them all about Beacon and how things are going."

"Awww." She gushed in joy at the wholesome action. "That's so cuuuuute-" A pillow shut her up.

Drew approached a girl in nearly all back. She wore a black bow, black pajamas, some kind of purple clothing beneath her pajamas, and a curious expression.

"Do you mind moving? I want this spot." Perhaps the wording came out a bit too harsh than he intended it to as her body language screamed defiance.

[How in the blazes did you even have a relationship in the first place?]

'Time and understanding. Mostly understanding. I'm known to be quite difficult.'

[Oh yeah. Haven't noticed.] Drew never did understand how floating text can be sarcastic. A mystery to solve for another time. [Want to say another understatement of the year?]

'Whatever.'

"No." She replied without moving her eyes from the book in her hands. "There's space somewhere else."

[Dang. Rejected. What now?]

"You have night vision. Read on your bed." She flinched.

[Oh you fool. You have 8 Intelligence? Seriously? I'm having a hard time believing it.]

'Maybe only my logical thinking and IQ are high.'

[And your EQ is gone to shit. Look at the poor girl. She's terrified.]

Gone were her previous emotions as fear, anger, shame, and wariness flooded her head. Fear because he discovered her heritage. Anger because he discovered it. Shame because she was caught. Wariness because she had no idea what the guy in front of her will do.

She's seen a glimpse of his abilities at the Auditorium and what he displayed was the perfect skills for an assassin. Not to mention, he was fearless if the event with the vice headmistress was something to go by. That meant that he doesn't shrink against those that stronger than him and most likely, can always the get job is done. If he was a Faunus hater...Blake shivered.

"Is there a ghost behind me?" Drew checked as turned his head. "Why are you prepared to attack?"

Blake gulped. Gone was any intention to survive.

'No. Wait. Don't be rash. He wants me to move and hasn't drawn his weapon.' She paused. 'I don't think he needs it...'

"I-I'll move."

He nodded the words. "Thank you."

[Mission: Being Social]

[Rome wasn't built in a day nor was relationships. Have a small talk with the kitty. This quest is may or may not be a selfish one to investigate her mother's relationship status.]

[Bonus Objective: Befriend Blake.]

Wordlessly crossing him, her guard relaxed a little. Laying down on her bed, she shifted her eyes slightly to her left only for him to be there, standing above her.

'Do. Not. Freak.'

"I have a question." Putting down the book on her chest, she waited for him to continue. "Why do you need candles if you can see in the dark?"

"The scent." Her answer confused him for a second. "I have scented candles. It uh, helps me focus on my book."

"Ah. I understand. Well, good night then."

"Right. Good night." 'He left. Finally. Now I can get back to my-'

"Helloooo," greeted a smiling blond in a singsongy voice as she dragged a younger person with her.

'I hate my luck sometimes.'

[I don't even want to reward you.]

'I did the mission. Give it up.'

[I might as well not give you missions anymore. That was your attempt at small talk? What's your definition of it? The mission was supposed to be small talk. Not minuscule talk.]

[Rewards]

[Small Exp.]

[Bous Objective: Failed.]

Secretly going to the shower room, he came back to the ballroom, happier and more refreshed than before. He withdrew his bed from the inventory, dropping it to the floor with a loud thump that attracted angry attention from the sleepers as their slumber was broken and puzzlement from those that were already awake.

"Did he just..."

"Take out a bed from thin air?" the hiding Faunus finished her thought, staring incredulously at Drew.

"How is that possible!" silently shouted the cat's white-themed neighbor.

"Guys. Am I hallucinating?"

"No way Rubes. Otherwise, why would we all be seeing the same bizarre thing?"

"...let's sleep it off." Three other voices agreed with the silver-eyed girl, though one of them came out as a grumble.
