Chapter 06 A Pile Of Bones

Early the next morning, before the family got up, Ma Jingguo made the bed. He didn't want to stay any longer, just in case the guards noticed that he was gone and came to look for him. He didn't want this wonderful family to be in danger because of helping him.

Ma Jingguo did not return to Jinfeng Sector. When he learned that Kuo Ju deliberately wanted him to lose his mind to avenge for Kuo Changchang, he was devastating. He accepted it because he was at fault, but at the same time, he also told himself that this was the last time he would tolerate their abuse. From now on, anyone who wants to hurt him or his loved ones, he will kill them without hesitation.

It took him fourteen days to walk from Shizi Village to Mu Village. He went straight to the bamboo shed and when he opened the door, everything inside the room was still the same as before. He thought that Mu Dishi might be by the stream, so he rushed to the back stream, but Mu Dishi was not there. The fish traps were neatly placed next to the tree, untouched. He slowly walked back, and when he approached the bamboo shed, he saw two Sword Villager disciples walking towards the bamboo shed.

The male disciple said, "I don't understand why da shixiong wants us to clean Mu shizun's shed when he is away."

The female disciple said, "Don't talk too much, if da shixiong knows, you'll be in trouble."

After listening to these two disciples, Ma Jingguo realized that Mu Dishi had never come back since the incident in the cave. The idea of Mu Dishi still staying on the edge of the cliff hurt Ma Jingguo deeply. After the two disciples had left, he entered their bamboo shed. He packed up some clothes and took some money hidden under the bed by Mu Dishi. Ma Jingguo left Mu Village headed to the Mu Treasure Cave.

Six days later, Ma Jingguo stood under the rushing waterfall on the side of the mountain. Where he was standing, he could see a small opening from the side of the waterfall. He tightened the bag around his waist. He tied a long hook rope around his waist and began to climb the rocky cliff.

Halfway up the mountain, Ma Jingguo began to feel that his muscles began to get sore, but the determination in his heart was too great, and he refused to give up halfway. He kept reminding himself that Mu Dishi was within his reach. Thinking of this, he felt that his energy quickly recovered, and he continued to climb.

After nearly two hours of climbing and resting, Ma Jingguo reached the edge of the empty tunnel. He pulled himself up and he faced, many pile of bones, but only one pile of bones caught his eye. He walked slowly to the pile of bones that leaned neatly on the wall of the cave. There were many arrows around the pile of bones, and beside the arrows were the dirty black glove.

Ma Jingguo knelt on the ground and picked up the one side of the black glove. He held it tightly. He closed his eyes and his lips trembled with pain and anger. Tears dripped from his closed eyes. He sobbed softly when his right cheek touched the dirty black glove.

Ma Jingguo opened his eyes again, he saw Honglie's sheath lying next to the left of the skeleton. A few feet away, Honglei was lying stained with rusted blood.

Ma Jingguo looked at the skeleton and said, "Did you said, we are going home, and you will listen to me from now on?" He gritted his teeth with anger. The more he looked at the skeleton, the more angry he became. "Say something." His loud voice sounded in the empty tunnel. "Say something."

Ma Jingguo quickly retracted to the other side of the wall. He looked at the edge of the tunnel cliff and suddenly saw the last image of Mu Dishi and him before they separated.

Ma Jingguo cried softly, "Xiao shushu, you promised to go home when we leave here." He approached the skeleton of Mu Dishi. "At this time of year, the mangoes around our house must be very sweet." He stretched out his arms and hugged Mu Dishi's skeleton. "Turn your skeleton back into flesh. From now on, I will listen to you." He stretched out his hands and hugged the skeleton tightly in his arms. "The last time I hugged you, your feel so warm. This time I hug you, you are a pile of bones. Death can defeat my body, but not my soul. I will travel through eternity, just to hold your hand again. Xiao shushu…"

Ma Jingguo was holding the skeleton next to the cave wall all night. Ma Jingguo cried until he had no tears to cry. He leaned against the cold cave wall, Mu Dishi's skeleton lying on his lap. The next evening, he took out the jade flute and began to play Mu Dishi's favorite melody. He watched the sun starting to fall into the horizon, and he missed Mu Dishi more than ever.

The sweetness of the flute melody reverberated through the hollow tunnels inside the cave, and many past events flashed through Ma Jingguo's mind. The voices of the past echoes past his ears.

"I am fine now. You can go away. Today, is supposed to be your wedding day."

"Xiao shushu, in my opinion, I still believe wholeheartedly that you and I are perfect for each other."

"Kill yourself I don't want your blood to dirty my hand."

"Xiao shushu, why do you always have to hurt me before you care for me?"

"Xiao shushu, I really really like you."

"Jingguo, I really really like you too."

Ma Jingguo slowly put down his flute and looked down at the skull. His tears fell on the skull, and he whispered, "Xiao shushu, if I plant a blossom tree every time I missed you, I will wander my blossom garden forever."
