A Duel?

Del gazed at the girl with a grin on his face. Melinda herself and those around her were struck with awe and surprise accompanied by new found fear welling up. "Y- you are a mere peasant! A commoner! Do you know the repercussions you will face for threatening and harming nobles?" Melidna said loudly while pointing at Del.

Del shrugged his shoulders and bent down to grab the coin which had just stopped spinning before tucking it into a pocket. "I'm not aware at all, but I suppose we will see." Del said indifferently. He eventually started walking away deciding that he should make his way back to his room so that his new room mate knew who was also staying there.

"Don't just walk away, are you scared!" Melinda exclaimed, though her voice was slightly quivering. The others around her looked at her bewildered wondering if she planned to fight him as well. They looked back to see that Del had simply waved without looking back as he walked away.

At Del's room a girl had walked in. She had short black hair which reached no lower than her chin. She had bright green eyes that accented her slightly tanned skin. She had freckles upon her face and a single small scar across the bridge of her nose. She wore a blazer over a blouse with a skirt. On her feet were fur boots. She was at the entrance of the room and saw that her bags had been moved to the side of the room. Her eyes were wide to see that the room had already been used quite a bit, notes and such in a language she didn't recognize were scattered across the room. Upon one of the desk were several books with leather covers. She walked over to them and saw that many of them were books provided by the academy, but a few others had the same language which she still couldn't recognize. She put a hand over one of them and felt a strange essence feebly come off of it.

She heard a foot step and jumped having been engrossed in the strange books. "Yo!" Del said as he walked in. He held up a half wave half peace sign before lowering his hands and starting to pick up the notes and other items he had scattered around. "You must be my room mate, I'm Del. Sorry about the mess by the way, ol' Bruce needed me for something so I didn't get a chance this morning." Del spoke to her as he picked things up. He accidently kicked a bag which made the sound of metal clanking inside as he reach over to something. He picked up the bag and put it in a corner.

"Nice to meet you, my name is Allyssa Lamkin." The girl said meekly which was a bit quiet while doing a curtsy.

"I'm not any kind of royalty so you don't have to do that." Del said as he saw her do the curtsy with an amused look on his face. He finally walked over to the books and brushed passed Allyssa who was standing near them. She felt something from Del for a moment. Allyssa had felt something from him but couldn't put a finger on it. She decided against asking him about it for now, more interested in the books.

"What is the language in those text?" She asked Del while nodding her head towards the table they sat on.

Del looked at her and to the books as he was putting them on a shelf. "Oh er, it's my homelands language, you wouldn't know of it." Del had forgotten that people wouldn't be familiar with the language of the books he had when he arrived in this world. He was given the books along with the cards as a way to help him.

"Alright, well it looks like I'm done here, I'll see you later." Del said as soon as he finished organizing the books. He picked up the bag that clanked with metal and walked out without slowing down. "Wait I still-" The girl was about to ask another question but Del had already left as quickly as he had came. She was disappointed that she couldn't make friends with her room mate since she would be living with him while she was here. The thought made her blush and brought up her hands to cover her face.

Del was out in the training field later making basic movements with a sword. He had been studying advanced techniques, but for now he was training his manus. His amount and control had risen to a point where if one had the ability to sense and see manus they would see that Del was covered in a thick layer of manus that almost looked alive in the way it moved. The movement the manus was making was caused by the manus quickly being thrust out of his body before being pulled back in. This along with controlling the natural flow within his body made concentration difficult and do he could only make basic movements when training.

After a while of training he took a break and sat on the grassy field. He wiped his forehead of sweat with his sleeve as he brought up a system scroll.

His stats had gone through somewhat of a change, but he found that increasing them became more and more difficult as he progressed. It seemed like the system had no benefit of increasing his limits, more so just showing what level he was at. He still had no idea what the system ability 'plunder' was which made things worse. He wondered if the difficulty of him being here would change without the system. He doubted it.

"You! I challenge you to a duel!" A feminine voice rang out with agitation. Melinda had appeared and was pointing at Del with an accusing finger. Others on the field saw this and assumed that a commoner was about to be bullied as usual by someone of higher status.

"Hey I knew you liked me." Del got up from where he was sitting and turned around to see who he had suspected it to be.

"Stop acting like a fool! Do you accept or do you tarnish your honor?" Melinda became more and more irritated as she spoke to this boy. He acted high and mighty and walked as if he knew he were better than everyone else. Well she was here to teach him a lesson!

"Fine then, on my saintly honor or whatever I accept." Del said nonchalantly to her while rolling his eyes.

"We will be using wooden swords, if I win you will act as a mutt when I so as feel like it!" Melinda said, she wanted to get back at this boy for embarrassing her, though she was being harsh about it. She wanted to be him and then make him act like a dog.

"Right, and if I'm to win you are to give me a peck on the cheek whenever I ask." Del said with a wink as he pointed to his cheek.

Melinda felt her face become red as he said that. She worried not, for a commoner couldn't be that great as someone who was heir to a family of knights. Right?
