Chapter 37: West Side (Bens POV)

I stood in this same spot that I was in, in the small little carriage that I had been in, in the very first place. I was not sure what to do, or if I should say any thing at all either. It was clear that they had some how brought me here, but they did not have a clue as to who I was in the first place.

I still was a bit lost as to how I had got here any ways, with out waking up. I had to assume that I had in fact woken up, but I had not remembered any of it, due to it being in such a short time stamp. Now I was not sure if I should say any thing, or tell the man that had just asked the question of my sister, that I was Ben, and that I was her brother.

I stood there in the spot that I was in, in the carriage still, as I wish that I could look around, so that I could see as to where it was, that I was even at in the very first place any how. Unfortunately how ever, I was stuck in this carriage, and it looked to be that I was going to be stuck in it for quite a bit longer as well, by the way that things seemed to be going.

I let out a bit of a heavy sigh, though I was sure that neither of them had noticed, or at least not Anderson, as my sister some how knew that I was here with her, and I was fairly certain that she had not seen me in the first place at all. I shivered a little bit, as it looked to be that there was a lot of strange things going on around me at the current moment in time.

I stared down at the floor of the carriage for just a few moments, as I could feel a high level of tension seem to rise in the air around me, due to the fact that my sister still had yet to respond to Anderson's question just a few moments ago. If she was smart, than she would just tell him some sort of lie.

Or maybe it would be a good idea for her to tell the truth about me, as they might spare my life when I got to where ever it was that they were taking us in the first place. I gulped quite a bit, as I was not so sure as to what was going on right now, nor what it was that I should be trying to do either.

I stared at the ground for a few moments longer, until finally, after the long time of silence, I heard the voice of some one, as they began to speak up, which in this case happened to be my sister. I blinked a few times, as I just kept staring down at the floor board in the carriage, as I listened to what it was that she had to say back to Anderson at the exact same time as well.

"He is just my ex boy friend I suppose now... You guys probably killed him when you were attacking us..." My sister said back to the man, finally, after the long drawn out period of silence, as it thankfully finally ended at the same time too, as I felt like I was not the only one with stress levels that were through the roof at the same time too.

I blinked a few times at the same time as well, as I was a little bit confused with what it was that she had just said in the first place. I was not her boy friend at all, so why would she just not tell them the truth about all of it? Surely she had to have known that I was stuck in this carriage right beside her right?

I was fairly certain that she knew that I was here at the very least, as she had in fact just said my name when she had got up close to it, for some odd reason or another. Now it seemed that she no longer thought that I was here with her at all, and she could have just been having a memory, or could just be worried about me too.

I shook my head, as I was not so sure what it was that I should think at this exact moment in time. I was that I could see through the walls of this carriage, so that I was able to see the looks on both of their faces, as well as the reactions to what it was that they were saying to one another in the first place.

I mainly just wanted to see my sisters reaction to all of this, as she was the one that I was the most suspicious of in all of this, even though Shannon had in fact admitted that she was not sure if my sister had in fact betrayed us. If my sister knew I was here with her how ever, she would not expose the full truth on all of it how ever.

I shook my head, as I continued to stare at the ground, just as I had been doing a few seconds ago, as I was not sure what it was that I should do. I felt at this point that it would just be smart to stay in this carriage, and not say a word back to either of them, as it was clear that some how neither of them knew that I was here with them in the very first place any ways.

Maybe I was not actually here... I was not sure, as those were some weird thoughts to be thinking at the same time too. Luckily as well, if you wanted to call it as such, I did not have to think for all that much longer either, as I heard the voice of Anderson, as it seemed like he had finally come up with a response back to Angela as well, as I then listened to what it was that he had to say back to her.

"I thought that Tony was your boy friend..." Anderson said to her. At that moment, that he had said that to her as well, that was when all the levels of suspicious activity on my sister, then went to a whole new level. It was in fact true! My sister did know about Tony all this time! It meant that Tony knew about us too!

Surely that had to have meant that my sister had in fact betrayed us right? It made me feel sick, as to the thought of that, as I wish that I could say that she would never do a thing as terrible as such, as she was a part of my family. But at the same time too, I also knew that I did not know her as well as I would have hoped I did.

I squinted my eyes at the wall of the carriage once again, as if it were see through, and I was staring right in to the eyes of my sister. It felt like she could almost see me, or feel me doing so at the same time too, as it was silence for quite a bit of some time once again as well.

Or maybe, it was just the fact that they were being silent, and my sister still did not know that I was here with her in the first place, even after the fact that she had just randomly spouted my name out of no where, when I had nothing at all to do with the conversation that they were in currently.

I shook my head at the same time too, as it was almost as if I could see what was going on through the wall of the carriage in the first place, as I felt like I could see that my sister Angela, had her eyes squinted at Anderson, which was a trait that both Christian, and my sister had got from my father as well, which I felt at often times was not a good trait for the person on the other side of the bargain.

I could almost see Anderson staring down at the ground, and I was not sure if it was because he was afraid, or if it was because he wanted to kill my sister. I felt like both of those were viable options to being true. I shook my head at the same time too how ever, as I shook off all of those thoughts, as I heard loud foot steps clomping over to the both of them, almost as if they were of a horse.

I knew it was not of a horse how ever, as luckily, and thankfully, Christian had done a good job of letting me know the difference between a humans foot steps and an animals foot steps. Those foot steps sounded to be either of a man who was not all that happy, or of a man that was trying to prove a point to the others around him.

I blinked a few times, as I almost wanted to laugh at the same time too, but I felt like the current situation that I was stuck in, in the first place, was not exactly a matter to be laughing about right now. I kept my self cool, and I kept my self in a serious tone, as I waited for who ever it was that had stomped their feet so loud, as if the dead did not exist, to go ahead and speak.

It was silence for just a few seconds, as it was clear to me that the man that had just walked over to the both of them, was the leader, as I could almost see them with their heads to the ground, as if they were too afraid to say any thing back to the man that had come over to them in the very first place.

I blinked a few times, as I was about to do the same, until I remembered that no one knew I was with them in the first place, so I shook my head, as I felt kind of like a bit of an idiot at the same time as well. I let out quite a soft sigh, as I then heard the voice of the man that had just walked up on the both of them in the first place, as he began to speak to them, and I listened as to what it was that he had to say to them as well.

"Anderson... You should know that it is normal to have more than one girl friend, or more than one boy friend in her case..." The man said back to Anderson, as I stared at the wall of the carriage for a little while longer. The voice of the man seemed to be a voice that I swear I had heard before at the same time too, but I just could to decide as to where, or when I had heard it. I shook my head at the same time too, as I shook off those thoughts, as I then heard the man continue with where he had left off in speaking, as I listened to what it was that he had to say too. "Oh wait... You don't... I forgot you still are yet to have a girl friend!"

As I heard the man say it, I almost wanted to laugh with him, but I felt like I should not. It was kind of funny as to what the man had said, but at the same time too how ever, I felt like these were not the people that I should view as being funny at all. I felt like they had a sick sense of humor, due to the fact that they did such evil and dark things.

I shook my head once again at the same time as well, as I also did not want to laugh, due to the fact that I still did not want to have any attention drawn on me whilst I was in this carriage in the first place. I felt like they still did not know that I was here, nor did they know that I was also the brother of Angela as well.

I felt that perhaps it might be better for it to stay that way, as I still did not know the rules, and I was not sure if there was a rule that permitted you to only having 1 brother, or perhaps just one sister with them. I gulped a little bit, as I stared at the ground for a little bit longer too, until finally, the man that had just spoken, decided that he was going to stop laughing.

I had thought that what the man had said had been a little bit funny, but it was clear that he was taking it a little bit over the top. I was glad that he was done laughing now, and I was sure that so were the rest of the others that were with him as well. I shivered a little bit once again, as just like earlier, they went in to silence.

It stayed that way for what felt to be quite a bit of some time as well, as I stared down at the floor board to the carriage that I was in, in the very first place, as if I was moving around, even though I could clearly tell that the horses were not moving at all, nor could I feel the carriage moving either.

If I had to guess, also just based off of the fact that it seemed to be a bit dark out as well, was that a lot of the people were going to sleep for the night, as we were at a place to do so in the first place. They must have been stalking around our community for just a little bit longer, after they had attacked us, if I had to assume.

The more than likely had got me in the night, and I had to assume that the same must have happened to Christian, as it was not the first time that he had been caught by these people. He, I hoped at the very least, was more than likely in another carriage, if he was not dead, which I had to keep a little bit of faith that he was not.

Christian had been through worse than this, as I knew that he would not do any thing stupid, that might get him killed in the first place. I am sure that he was safe, and that there was nothing for me to worry about at all. I let out quite a loud sigh at the same time too, as I just stared at the floor to the carriage for a little bit longer, just as I had been doing for most of this time that I had been in here.

I felt like I wanted to tap my feet, as all of the silence around me was starting to get me quite a bit stressed, but sadly, I could not do so, as my legs were wrapped up together, and they were locked in, making it impossible for me to do so. I sighed a little bit, as I was just about to close my eyes, until I finally heard one of the people begin to speak up.

I opened my eyes, as I blinked a few times too, and I stared at the wall that was in front of me, as if I was looking at them. I realized that it was my sister that was speaking right away too, as she had the only feminine voice out of the 3. I nodded to my self, as I then listened to what it was that she had to say back to the man that had spoken.

"Well thank you London... You know... I would say that you were a good man, besides the fact that you just killed over a thousand people a few days ago..." She said back to the man. I blinked a few times as well, as at first I had thought that it had once again been quite a bit suspicious what she had said, until I remembered that she had in fact been there when Shannon had made that deal.

I wondered if it was Angela, who viewed Shannon as the one that had betrayed our community. I was tempted to speak, and say some thing, or ask her that question, but I kept my mouth shut at the same time too, as I did not want any sort of unwanted attention at the same time either, as I decided that it was smarter to not say any thing at all.

I am sure that the answers would come to me at some point in the future, so long as I was not dead by that time. I let out a bit of a sigh at the same time too how ever, as I realized that I was thinking far too negative, and I shook my head, as I shook off all of those thoughts as well.

I stared down at the ground once again, just as I had been doing earlier, as I then heard the man begin to laugh, in a bit of a creepy, and maniacal laugh as well. It gave me quite the shivers, as I tried to move back, or perhaps get away from the situation that I was in right now, as I was sure that I was not the only one who did not want to be here right now.

I was not sure which dude I should be more freaked out to be around. If it should be Anderson, who the guy seemed to be just straight up evil, even though it was clear that he was not an evil genius at all, as the guy seemed to be quite a bit stupid to me, if I do say so my self.

Or if it should be London, who did not seem to be all that evil at all, though the way that he acted, he seemed to be a bit more evil down deep on the inside. I felt as if it should be London, as it seemed like he might just be trying to gain the trust of my sister, as he seemed to be a lot more smart, so that he could learn some more stuff.

I hoped that my sister knew not to trust him at all how ever, as I let out quite a loud sigh, which now that it was silent out side, I was worried that they might be able to notice that I had done so. It was clear that they had not how ever, as after that fact, it just continued to stay silent for a few more seconds.

I tried to move around, as I wanted to get out of this spot that I was stuck in, but it just did not seem to be working all that well for me how ever. I gave up after a little bit longer, as I then heard the voice of London finally begin to speak up too, breaking apart the long period of silence, as I then listened as to what it was that he had to say as well.

"Well... I know it is late, but you 2 should get some dinner... There is some food in the carriage right beside us..." He said to him, as he voice all of the sudden seemed to go back to normal at the same time too, as he no longer seemed to be an evil villain, just as it had seemed just a few seconds before now.

I stared down at the ground for a bit longer, as it felt like none of what he had just said, mattered to me at all how ever. There was silence for quite a bit ot some time too, as I then heard the loud clamps of the foot steps of London, that I had heard earlier, as he then seemed to walk away from where it was that I, and the other 2 had been at for quite a bit of some time.

I was not sure why I did not feel tired at all, as it was clear to me that it was still the middle of the night. I must have slept an entire day like I had done before. I let out quite a bit of a sigh, as I just kept staring down at the ground, until suddenly, I heard movement near the back side of the carriage that I was in.

I was a bit confused at first, as to what it was that might be going on, until it all of the sudden hit me, as to what was going on in fact, as I realized just what it was that London had said just a few seconds ago to the other 2 that were there. When he had said there was food in the carriage, I had not been paying attention this entire time, to realize that I was in the carriage with all of the food.

I was a little bit lost as to why he would put me in to the carriage with all of the food in the first place, but I shook off that question right away, when I saw just who it was that poked their head through the back side of the carriage. My eyes went wide as soom as I saw who it was, as my mind began to draw a bit of a blank.

It was my sister! And yet, while I knew that she had been near me before now, it did not hit me that it was actually her, until I saw her face right in front of me. I smile popped up on my face, as I just stared at her for a few moments, still taking in if this was at all real or not, as I saw her begin to head over to me.

She was drawing closer and closer, and at first I thought that she was coming to me for a hug, which sadly I could not do with her, due to the fact that my hands were locked up behind me. As I stared at her for a little bit longer how ever, I saw that she was not coming over to me at all, but she was going after some of the food that was beside me.

I blinked a few times, as I was not sure whether to be confused by it, or hurt by the fact that it seemed like she had just ignored me, as she grabbed a peanut butter and jelly sandwich that was right beside me at the exact same time too, as she then began to move further back as well, as if she was about to leave the carriage that I was in.

I stared at her, waiting for her to notice me for just a few more moments, until I suddenly saw her begin to go out of the carriage that I was still stuck in. I had to assume that it was too dark for her too see me, so I spoke a bit up to her, but not too loud, before she left the carriage that I was stuck in still.

"Angela! Im here! It's me! Ben!" I said, which might have been perhaps too loud, as I wondered if Anderson might have heard me yell that from out side of the carriage. I stared ahead of me for a bit longer, at the exit of the carriage, as I saw her continue to hop out, as if she had not heard a word that I had said to her in the first place.

I was a little bit confused, as I then dipped my head a little bit low to the ground at the exact same time too, as I had not a clue as to why she would just ignore me like that. Maybe I had not been loud enough... I shook my head how ever, as I knew that I had been plenty loud enough for her too clearly be able to hear me call her name.

I let out a bit of a sigh at the same time too, as I just felt like giving up now, at this point, as it was starting to feel a bit point less, and use less to even keep trying in the first place. I closed my eyes, as I just wanted to fall asleep, though it really did not seem like my body wanted me to do so.

Just as it felt like I might be about to do so how ever, that was when I heard more noise from the back side of the carriage that I was in, that I had just seen my sister slide through not too long before now. I opened my eyes as well, and I blinked a few times, as I was a bit confused as to what was going on, and who was making all that noise.

I then blinked a few times, as I saw it was my sister. She was staring right at me too, and at first I had been happy by it, but as I stared at my sister for just a little bit longer how ever, I then began to notice that some thing was off with her though, as she seemed to have a bit of a strange look in her eyes as well.

She was heading right over to me, and I was now starting to get a little bit freaked out at the exact same time too, as I tried to move out of the way, but my body, though I knew I could easily move a bit at least, did not seem to want to move at all how ever, as she slowly drew closer and closer to me.

I tried to yell for help at the same time too, as if the people that were at this place would even help me in the first place, but not a word came out of my mouth. As I continued to look at my sister, I heard a word come out of her mouth how ever, which confused me even more, as I saw that she had her hand around my leg as well.

"Wake up Ben! Its time!" She said to me, as I was a bit confused by her voice as well, as it did not seem to be her voice at all either, but how ever, it did sound like a voice that I did in fact recognize. I blinked a few times, as I was not sure whether or not I should be scared, or try to understand it.

As I stared it to her eyes for a bit longer, all of the sudden, every thing seemed to get quite a bit dark. I looked around, in the hopes that I could see some thing, but it just seemed to want to stay dark for a little bit long though, until after what had seemed like for ever, I then saw the light all around me.

I put a hand over my eyes, as I was a bit confused how one moment, I could be stuck in a dark carriage, and then in the very next moment, all of the sudden it was bright to the point as where it seemed like it would burn my pupils. I shook my head, as I blinked a few times to get my eyes used to the bright light.

I let out quite a loud sigh at the same time too how ever, as I all of the sudden began to realize as to where it was that I was even at in the first place. I was in the room that I had fallen asleep in last night, as I had simply just been in a dream, and Christian had been shaking my leg to wake me up. I looked a little bit confused still, as I then heard him continue to speak to me once again.

"Come on kid! Get up! We have work to do today!" He yelled right up next to my ear drums. I let out quite a loud groan, as it all of the sudden seemed to be that I had been in an extra long dream all this time, and Christian was waking me up, so that we could go out side of the place that we were in currently, and continue on with my training.

I shook my head at the exact same time too, as I made sure that Christian had heard the very loud groan come from my voice at the same time too, as I blinked a few times, as I saw that the reason as to why my eyes had felt like they were burning, was due to the fact that he had the lights turned up all the way in the room that we were at right now.

I looked around at the room that I was in as well, as I blinked my eyes once again too, as I was in fact quite a bit lost as to where it was that I was at in the first place. As I looked around the room, it then hit me as to where I was at, as I realized that I was in a guest bed room in side of the community house.

It then hit me at the same time as well, all that had gone on in the last few days as well, as I realized that none of it had been a dream at all sadly. I shook my head and then I closed my eyes, as I felt like I just wanted to fall back in to some deep sleep, and not wake up for another couple of days, due to the fact as to how tired I felt.

I let out a loud sigh once again, as this time I heard a loud and annoyed groan come from Christian for some odd reason or another. I blinked a few times as well, as I looked up at my mentor, a little bit confused, as to what was going on in the first place, as I then began to speak to him at the exact same time too.

"Wha- whats going on?" I said to him, my voice quite a bit starchy as well, a lot of that due to the fact that I had just woken up a few seconds before now, and I had not a clue as to what it was that was even going on right now. The light was still bright on my eyes, and I wanted to yell to him to turn it off.

I knew not to do so how ever, as I had to remember that he was the one that was training me, and I was not the one who was training him. There had to be a reason as to why he was waking me up any ways, when I so badly just wanted to get a fair bit of some sleep right now.

I stared at Christian, as I saw that he had his eyes squinted at me at the same time too, as if I was doing some thing oddly suspicious. I was not sure as to why he could not simply just see that I was tired. I let out a little bit of a soft sigh to my self, as I figured that I would just squint my eyes right back at him.

Just as it seemed that I did, he then shook his head at me, and then he rolled his eyes at me at the same time too, as if I was being an idiot, and I should know what was going on when I had just woken up. I continued to squint my eyes at him as well, as he finally began to speak to me, and I listened as to what it was that he had to say.

"Get up kid! I let you sleep in! Andrew wants us on the West side!"
