Interlude

It was as if it was a gathering between dragon tribes, and their leaders, except it was not. Typically at these, you would see a lot of happy dragons, with smiles on their faces, for it is the first time that they had seen their old friends, it quite a bit of some time.

There were no smiles on the faces of these dragons how ever, as all of them had lost a lot in the last few years, ever since the war had begun. Family, and as well as losing good dragons at the hand of a battle. A battle that should be use less, as there had been a pact, and a promise between the tribes, that they would never go to war again.

That was with the black dragons at least though. They should have seen it coming though, as there was an old phrase that has been used for quite a bit of some time. If you spoke it near a black dragon, they would get angry, and often times attack you, as if they wanted to prove a point that the old phrase was true.

It was a simple phrase, as it went by, 'you should never trust a black dragon', it was said. Himla, the dragon that was in the middle of the group, thought that his friend, Plyma, would be different, as they had been friends even before the last war. It was clear that he was wrong on that, and he felt as if a lot of it was his own fault, as many red dragons had lost a lot of respect for him, as they had said, 'you should have seen it coming'.

He knew that they were right as well, as he was not typically one to sheep to what it was that a lot of people were saying. He felt like the red dragons were right in this case though, as he felt quite a bit betrayed by all of this. He had lost his son, due to the fact that Plyma had not been hunting for Himla, but he had been hunting for the dragon of destiny.

He should have known that I war was coming soon though, as it had been said in the prophecy, that his son, Jangra, in this case, rather than Plyma, was going to be the dragon that was to end all other wars. Whether that might mean with humans as well, one could not truly tell.

Himla had not told Plyma, and the other dragons about his son though, as he had begun to think the prophecy through his head, and it was as if it were second nature, for him to not tell about his youngest son, as he almost knew in his head, that they would be looking for him.

Himla let out quite the loud sigh, as he then looked at all of the dragons that he was with at the current moment. He felt a bit embarrassed as well, as he knew that they had asked to meet up several times recently, but he had always denied them of that, as he felt he would much rather sit in his cave, and grieve for all of the dragons he had lost, at his own hands.

He had warned the other tribes that they were coming, so they had time to prepare, and fight them off at least, but it still came at the hands over several hundreds of lives lost in all of the tribes. The war felt like it had barely begun though, as the red dragons were only keeping the black dragons at bay at the moment, rather than attack.

Himla knew just as well as the other dragons, that you could not simply win a war, by just defending. He knew that at some point, you would have to go on the attack, and at some point they would have to take Plyma down. The question truly was, how they were possibly going to get to him.

He also knew, that it was not him that was going to kill Plyma, but rather it be his son. His son was still small though, even if he was a good fighter, he was not nearly strong enough to beat a dragon as strong as Plyma, there was no denying that at all, even if you wanted to take in the fact that he was the dragon of destiny.

Himla shook his head, as he could feel all of the faces of the red dragons leaders, seem to stare in to his soul. He shivered a bit, as he felt like he could not trust these dragons, even if a lot of them were his friends. All of them were fighting in the same war that he was, so he was not quite sure what was going on with him.

Himla lifted his head up, and he let out quite the loud sigh, as he looked over at all of the dragons, who many had their eyes squinted at him, as he truly did not look like the dragon that he once was. He did not feel like he was either, to be fair, and to be perfectly honest with him self.

He knew that he had to be strong at a time such as this though, as all of these dragons that he was with were looking up to him, to not just be a leader of his own tribe, but to be a leader of many of theirs as well. Himla shook off those thoughts, as he knew that he could not let it stress him out too much.

He then nodded to all of the dragons that he was with, as he remembered that a lot these dragons he was staring at, were in fact his friends, though there was a couple of new faces, he knew that he could trust all of them, as he had gone in to a war with them before, and he was ready to do it once again.

Many of the dragons nodded back to him as well, as the younger dragon leaders were a bit confused as to what was going on, and what was so great about this dragon, that they had been told about it stories, for a very long time. The other dragons that knew Himla how ever, they had smiles on their faces, as they knew what was about to happen next.

Himla stood there for a few moments, as he knew he was about to expose his biggest secret to all of these dragons. He knew if Plyma found out, than he would look all over to earth for his son Jangra. He was ready for it though, as he remembered that they had the humans by their side as well.

You could not rule them out, even if they were smaller, slower, and weaker. They were for the most part, very smart though, as well as the fact that they had these sorts of weapons, that many dragons wished they could get their paws on. Many dragons had tried to replicate their weapons as well, but it seemed to no avail.

Himla shook off those thoughts, as he knew that this was not what he was here for. He was here for one specific reason, and that was to start to plan the attacks, as well as another big thing, which was to tell all of these dragons about his son, which he was still a bit hesitant to do so.

Himla continued to stare at them for a few moments, as he could tell that a lot of them were starting to get a bit annoyed that he had not yet spoken to them. Himla squinted his eyes, as he then began to speak to all of them, before it was too late, and they started to give up on him.

"I need all of you guys trust, that you will not tell any other dragons about this... Not even your deputies, because if the word is to get out, it could spell a disaster for us." He said to all of the dragons. As soon as he had said it, he saw quite a look of confusion on a lot of the faces of the dragons that were with him at the moment.

They turned their heads to one another, as they stood for a bit of time, speaking to them selves, as it was clear that they had not a clue what it was that Himla had meant. Himla gave them a bit of time for them to speak to each other, so that they could get it off their chests first, before he actually spoke to them.

After a little while longer as well, the leaders then started to grow a bit silent, as they turned their heads back over to Himla, as it was clear that they had not a clue as to what it was that Himla could possibly be talking about right now.

Himla had a bit of a smile on his face, though he was not quite sure what he could be so ever happy about, as he was about to tell them what it was. One dragon, after a bit more silence had grown in to the clearing, decided to speak up to Himla, as Himla turned his head over to that dragon in specific, to hear what it was that she had so say.

"What is it Himla? Do you have a weapon? We already know that you found the human... Is that enough to save us though?" She asked of him. Himla looked at the older female dragon for a bit of time, as it was one of his old friends, as she was nearing the end of her days.

If she did not die in this war, than she would surely die soon after it. That was not any of his concern though at the moment, as he shook off those thoughts from out of his head. He then began to think on what it was that she had just now said to him, as he closed his eyes for some time.

It sicked him, to consider his son as a weapon, but at the same time, he knew that was what wars were won with, as he had Plyma had been the weapon to win them the last war that they had been in. He shivered, as he once again came to the realization that he was about to expose his son out to the public.

Himla shook his head, as he then opened his eyes, and then looked at all of the dragons that he was with once again. He cracked a bit of a smile on his face, as if he was playing in some sort of game, which confused a lot of the dragons that he was with at the current moment.

Himla looked up at the sky, as if he was going to find answers from there. He blinked a few times, as he let out a bit of a soft sigh, that only he would be able to notice. He then turned his head back to the gathering, and he began to speak to all of them.

"Plyma was not my only son... I will go in to more detail later down the line, but I want you all to know that we still have a chance... I want you to meet him soon, once I think he is ready... He is very young... I will plan the time, and then, we can plan our attacks..."
