14. Stuck Inside the Dungeon

Whilst Fritz was on their way to the dungeon where they would be clearing by themselves, he noticed something weird to Newt. He was aching and was pulling his sleeve to hide his arm.

"Is something the matter, Newt?" Fritz asked as he tried to look at Newt's hidden arm. "It looks like you're in pain..."

Newt forced a smile on his face, "I-I'm fine. Guess I'm just hungry since our food was wasted because of that damn spider."

Fritz knew that that wasn't the reason why Newt wasn't feeling well. He grabbed and pulled Newt's hidden arm behind his back and saw that the poison of the mother spider was rapidly burning Newt's skin. It was all over his arm up to his neck.

"Oh yeah, you're fine, huh?" Fritz brought out the antidote to the spider's poison. "Here, pour it on the poisoned area. It's a cure."

Newt took the potion bottle and took off his top. Scars were all over his body. One look at it, and you would assume that he's through a tough past for a kid to experience harsh things. If Fritz was a few minutes late in noticing that something was wrong with Newt, he would have died.

"Since we will be for quite a long time, let's try being honest to each other."

"Okay," Newt said as he was nearly done curing himself with the antidote.

It was effective. The burned areas were healed, and Newt looks just fine as he should be.

The two kids arrived at the dungeon. The entrance was particularly small. Only a kid would fit the entrance. It's like it was made only for kids to enter, or should I say, small people. Well, you could enter if you crouch and force yourself to enter.

[You have entered a dungeon.]

[!!!]

[The dungeon had sealed itself. You will not be able to leave until the dungeon is cleared!]

'What? How many floors are here?'

[You are currently on floor 1 of ten floors.]

"How long do you think it would take us to clear this dungeon?" Fritz asked. Newt was currently inspecting the interior of the dungeon.

"I don't know. Some dungeon takes about a week, some take months.

More importantly, this dungeon is a typical one. It's the same as other dungeons I have been." Newt picked a small rock and threw it far ahead to the dark part of the dungeon. There was light on where they were. But it stays just there. The light didn't reach the farther areas of the dungeon.

"We will need a magic ore to use as a light." Fritz brought out a small ore. It will give light to the area that was enveloped in darkness. "You hold it, Newt." He gave the ore to the other. The map of the forest wasn't of any use anymore. They will be living inside the dungeon until they kill all of the bosses on each and every floor.

[The rewards to the mission 'Spider Extermination' will be distributed now.]

[Another mission just came in.]

[First Dungeon Clearing!]

[Mission Difficulty: Gold]

'Hmm? These missions just keep coming one after another. Also, the

rewards this time are pretty sweet.'

[Mission Rewards.]

[1. 10 Spendable Points]

[2. 20 Magic Imbued Arrows]

[3. 30 small HP and MP potions]

[4. Double Edge Karambit]

'Double Edge Karambit? Will using it and the dagger mix well? I should have asked Demiurgus what weapons goes well with daggers.'

[Double Edge Karambit]

[Weapon Rarity: Silver]

[Attack Damage: 30]

[Durability: 50/50]

[The karambit is held with the blade pointing downward from the bottom of the fist, usually curving forwards, however occasionally backward. While it is primarily used in a slashing or hooking motion, karambit with a finger ring is also used in a punching motion hitting the opponent with the finger ring. Some karambit are designed to be used in a hammering motion. This flexibility of striking methods is what makes it useful in self-defense situations. The finger guard makes it difficult to disarm and allows the knife to be maneuvered in the fingers without losing one's grip]

"Aren't we going in?" The first thing that they encounter was a large door.

"But we are supposed to clear the floor monsters first before the boss, right?" Usually, it would be like what Fritz had said.

Newt shook his head, "not all floors. Some of them have the Boss only. Though there was no report of floors having only monsters without the Boss."

"Oh, okay." 'It's weird. Arcadia's Realm does not have this kind of occurrence.' "Then we will be fighting floor 1's Boss first. What a great start!"

Fritz with the left side of the and Newt to the other, the two pushed open the door. The ore Newt was holding started glowing. It's because the inside of the room was dark.

"Uhmm~ this smell, the smell of young meats!"

The voice of the monster came from in front of them about five meters away from them. The only light that lit a small area of the room came from the ore.

"Can't we use more ores? I can't see a thing inside this room."

"We can't. Our resources are limited."

Their conversation was interrupted by the Boss monster of the first floor.

"What are you two brabbling to yourselves?!"

Even so, the two continued with their conversation. "What do you mean limited?! I thought we have adequate resources for this dungeon clearing?!" Newt wasn't told about that.

"I was gonna tell you, though..."

"You dare try to ignore me?!" The Boss of the room was furious at the fact that he was ignored by what he treated as mere humans; lowlife humans.

The two kept on ignoring the monster. "You're still ignoring me?! Me, the greatest warrior of all Reptilians?!"

An agitated opponent will be easy to deal with. Their rage will lead them to their own destruction. Whilst calm and collected one's will become victorious.

"Why do all monsters do was keep on interrupting us?!"

The Boss of the floor one snap his fingers and the room was filled with light that came from the ores attached to the ore handles placed on the wall of the room.

"Geh?! What kind of reptile is that?!" The Boss of the room was actually a lizardman. "I thought lizards were insects?!" Fritz forgot what type of animal and what family the lizards belonged to.

The lizardmen flinched at how ridiculous what Fritz said was. "What do you mean insects?! How dare you, a mere kid to call us great lizardmen an insect?!" The lizardmen were holding onto his weapon, a spear. He showed off his skills at spear as it glared at the two of them. Especially to

Fritz. "I'll skewer you first. The one who dares tries to call us insects!"

The lizardmen do not look pathetic at all. In fact, he looked like he lived up to what it said earlier. There's this intimidating look from it too. Like it despises every single human.

"The first one to kill him gets to smack the other in the head. Are you okay with it, Fritz?"

"Okay, deal!"

'Such a childish reward. He should have made it a little more intense.'
