Chapter 118 Pretending to be Emotional About the Passage of Time

The utilization rate of sunlight by plants is actually very low.

Not all the sunlight that shines on plant leaves is absorbed; plants only absorb a portion of it and reflect the green and other invisible light. Some light passes through without being absorbed, and a part increases the temperature of the leaves, causing water in the leaves to evaporate to ensure transpiration proceeds so that the plants can absorb nutrients from the soil.

The energy that is actually converted into chemical energy by photosynthesis is at most just a few percent, and it's almost impossible for it to exceed six percent.

It should be said that the vast majority of plants have a photosynthetic utilization rate of sunlight that is much lower than one percent.

Those that can exceed one percent during their growth stage are already considered decent crops.
