Chapter 006: Acting

No matter how renowned Su Qin was in the entertainment industry, she was still an actress, and at the very least, she had some acting skills.

Throughout her life, Su Li could count on her fingers the number of times she had heard her call "sister." Hearing it today felt nothing but ironic.

Of course, after living together for more than twenty years, if Su Li still didn't know what Su Qin was thinking, then she truly hadn't played her role as an "older sister" for all these years.

"Oh, this is Wei Chengfeng, your future 'brother-in-law.'" After finishing her sentence, Su Li affectionately hooked Wei Chengfeng's arm, looked up at him playfully, and asked, "Is that introduction okay?"

Wei Chengfeng glanced down at her without a word.

Not countering her, in Su Li's view, was a form of acknowledgment. She breathed a silent sigh of relief, then spoke again, "Chengfeng, this is my sister Su Qin, an actress."

"Xiao Qin, is mom not home?"

"Huh?" Su Qin shifted her gaze away from Wei Chengfeng and responded somewhat sluggishly, "Mom has an appointment and went out."

Su Li didn't mind and walked over to sit on the sofa with Wei Chengfeng.

"Uncle He, please brew the new pack of green tea my father recently acquired."

"Yes."

Su Li turned to Wei Chengfeng and said, "My dad doesn't have many hobbies; he just likes drinking tea. I don't really understand much about it, but you can try it later."

Su Qin sat opposite them, her face wearing an appropriate smile, but inside she was seething with resentment.

Even though mom had mentioned that this man had some peculiar habits, setting that aside, Wei Chengfeng was simply impeccable—unflawed in either family background or in his physical appearance.

And such a man was Su Li's...

How could she be content?

"Sister, how did you and Mr. Wei get together? Did you go find him?"

Su Li nodded openly and said, "I went to find him."

"Mr. Wei must be very busy, right? Sister, why did you let Mr. Wei take you home then? Affecting Mr. Wei's work like that, isn't that bad?"

While peeling an apple, Su Li said, "I told him he didn't need to, but he insisted. Honestly, I felt quite embarrassed."

She finished peeling an apple and cut a small piece, immediately extending it to Wei Chengfeng's mouth, indicating for him to eat.

Wei Chengfeng looked at the apple piece near his mouth, slightly frowned, glanced at Su Li, and then took a bite.

Su Li widened her eyes, tilting her head as she watched him swallow, then cooed, "Is it sweet?"

Wei Chengfeng said nothing but his gaze had already swept over her.

Su Li knew when to stop; overdoing the act would seem too fake.

She cut herself a small piece, ate it, and then set the rest aside.

The tea was ready and had been brought over; Wei Chengfeng lifted the cup to his nose, sniffed, and then took a gentle sip.

"How is it?"

"Not bad."

"My dad would be happy to hear you say that."

Wei Chengfeng checked the time on his wristwatch and said, "I have a meeting this afternoon, so I should leave now. Tomorrow morning at nine, I will send a car to pick you up."

Su Li, though curious, chose not to voice her questions, at least she wasn't foolish enough to create an unpleasant scene in Su Qin's presence.

"Okay, I got it."

Seeing Wei Chengfeng get up, Su Qin also hurriedly stood up, saying eagerly, "Mr. Wei, it's your first visit and yet we weren't able to have you stay for dinner, I'm really sorry about that."

Wei Chengfeng glanced at her and said indifferently, "No need for formalities."

But Su Li immediately said, "Well, let me walk you out."
