Innocence

One day I twisted my ankle

On my lonely way from school

I thought the pain would kill me

I must have been a fool

One day I got a black eye

And came home in a hood

I tried to hide from them so hard

Ran and waited in the wood

One day I covered up my wrists

To hide the cuts Id drawn

Pale soft and milky skin

But I was too far gone

One day I wished upon a star

For Death to come find me

He shook his head and sighed so long

But I was determined to be free
