034 Plans Of Retaliation

The slow buzz of the teleportation portal being activated rang about. Moments of shimmering light slipped through the air in long thin streaks. They gathered to one single point as they materialized a figure. Finally, after much waiting, a lone soldier came through.

He had arrived back to the headquarters of the Third King's army.

[Floor 30] [The Labyrinth Of Eternity]

The path from the teleportation entrance to the soldiers headquarters was not far but today, it was an immeasurable distance. The soldier knew that this was a lie. This was simply his psyche pissing about and torturing him because of the recent trauma.

There could be no other explanation. After all he had gained immunity against Quinn's mind spells which protect the entrance of the labyrinth.

He began to move forward in agony.

The combination of open wounds and screaming nerves was driving him insane.

Searing flashes of white flame mercilessly assaulted his arms. His legs, torn with vicious jagged strikes exposing muscle and even bone in certain places. His radiant armor which he was once proud of, was now beyond ruined. Most of it had melted onto his body. Freshly welded to him. It made the task of basic motion and movement seem like unlawful torture.

Through it all he had to continue to push through. He had a message to deliver to The Third King.

Not because he was following the orders of that bastardoues traitor Em! Instead it was out of his heartfelt loyalty and love he had for Quinn. She was the perfect standard of beauty that could not be rivaled. Wise, fierce, and unafraid. He would do anything for her. Anything to be with her for a few seconds. Anything for just a stray touch of hers.

If it meant having to endure this hellish pain to deliver information, just to be in the presence of Quinn. He would gladly do it a million times over.

"If I can just inform her, and let her know where he is...maybe she can restore my body...Maybe she will even reward me with more for having endured..."

With just these thoughts roaming through the soldiers mind, he continued to push through pain.

For some time now it had been distorting his reality. Pain induced hallucinations of him slaying Em in the same brutal fashion he had done to destroy his comrades. Visions of Quinn approaching and kissing him as a reward, The visions even went so much as to seduce him with sweet images of Quinn undressing completely just for him and becoming his.

Eventually through all the delirium, he arrived in front of the door to the soldiers headquarters. Drenched in whatever sweat his singed body could muster, he collapsed on the door completely out of breath. The impact of his body colliding with the door, echoed inside the building.

Startling the unexpected.

A few moments after hearing the the injured soldier's thump against the solid wood, a fellow in arms opened the door inward. This allowed the first soldier to fall violently over onto the cool ground.

A bit embarrassed at having missed the catch, the second soldier had knelt down to the ground to pick up the his comrade. His embarrassment was short lived the moment he saw the horrifying wounds throughout the body.

It became too much for him to bear and he became nauseous. Turning over to the side as he expelled everything he ever decided to consume.

The wild flurry of questions popped up in his mind as he turned back towards the comrade in arms currently on the floor.

What could have happened? Who could even do this sort of damage? Xavier of course but there is nothing for him to gain from patronizing Quinn and her soldiers. Besides, he is still on his floor. He had not left his castle in a while. Several people had confirmed this.

In that case who?

The first soldier looked up from the ground and spoke, finally taking him away from those thoughts deep within him.

"I-have-a-message-for-Quinn, p-please bring me to her. I don't know how much longer I can hold out."

Realization struck him deep upon hearing those word. If he had information that could help Quinn in any way then we shouldn't hesitate to act on it.

The second soldier called on several of his friends and together they lifted the broken body and rushed over to the secret portal that would instantly take them to the castle of The Third King.

Moments after they arrived, they found an empty room to lay the soldier. The one who had originally found him against the door rushed to rudely ask Quinn to come meet the man as he was in no condition to even be alive.

Arriving before her chamber doors he knocked.

Without a moments hesitation Quinn answered.

"What do you want?"

The poor soul didn't know what the best way to respond was so he just blurted out what had just happened moments ago in its totality.

Upon hearing his desperate words, Quinn was more than slightly annoyed at the audacity of her pawns. Yet they had managed to get some information so...they may be useful still. With much hesitation Quinn agreed and exited her chamber in order to begin following the lowly soldier.

As she entered the room, Quinn covered her nose. Such an ungodly stench was emanating from the broken man before her. Slowly making her way towards him, she commanded him to begin speaking.

To someone as perceptive as Quinn it was quite obvious he didn't have any time left. So she was rash and to the point.

"You worthless maggot, hurry and explain yourself as to why you bother me tonight!"

"Of course...The second floor unit. All dead. Em he destroyed the 1,000 soldiers you sent to find him. Single handedly he caused calamity. H-He is more powerful than what you described him to be....Quinn be care-UGHHHHH"

She was done hearing useless information. Swiftly she had cast a silent spell to stop his weakened heart.

Great. This is just what she needed to hear.

She turned to the rest of her soldiers in the room with much annoyance.

"I gave the order to find him and you lot choose to defy me by being here! GET THE HELL OUT AND FOLLOW WHAT YOU WERE COMMANDED TO DO!"

She yelled viciously at the top of her lungs.

Immediately the soldiers left the room with fear having entered their hearts.

Quinn too made her way away from the now corpse and back to her chambers. She only had one thought. One very infuriating thought.

"So Em, damn you for winning the first battle! However, don't you dare get cocky because I won't make the same mistake twice. You easily fought off 1,000. I should have expected this much from you. Next time let's see how you do against ten times that amount."

The door closed behind her as she finally crossed her threshold.

Maniacal laughter could be heard echoing down her halls through the closed doors.
