After tipping the vial of the reawakening fluid into Cecelia's mouth, I closed her mouth and tipped her head back so she would swallow it. Then, after ensuring she had taken the elixir, I stepped back and let Roy go to the bedside.
Given Roy's dwarf-like stature, he did not have to kneel or sit next to the bed to take his sister's hand. Instead, standing next to the bed, Roy held his breath as we waited for Cecelia to wake up.
We all watched and waited for the first hints of her waking up. It was going to be easy to spot, as she had been motionless throughout her sleep.
Even now, as we waited, she was still perfectly still. The blankets had been moved down to about her waist so that she would be able to move her arms freely. She wore a pair of soft cotton pyjamas consisting of a shirt and shorts. It had a soft yellow colour that reminded me of spring, and that spring vibe was helped along by the tiny white flowers that were patterned onto the outfit.
