Chapter 10 - Heibrook City

After a 30 minute wait, all 10 of them were able to enter successfully with no problem.

All dispersing the moment they entered, the morale of the group was sky-high.

Leon instantly targeted the city pub alongside Enga, and Jyn was forced to follow. The girls and the twins aimed straight for a candy store to refill their private stash, whilst Alastair, Seilon, and Reisa head to the adventurer guild to acquire a map of the surroundings.

Since the maps were placed openly in front of the guild, free for anyone passing by to take, they easily obtained their first objective.

Then heading into a nearby inn, they began to strategize.

"Their hideout should be around this area," Alastair pointed at a part of the map with a low clearing. "I will enter alone with Len through here, while the rest of you will stay hidden at the top of the ravine, somewhere around here; so the vampires won't be able to detect you."

"What about if we scatter ourselves, surround them, and position ourselves here," Seilon interrupted, pointing at a few different locations. "We can have Reisa cast a telepathic link between all of us so we can communicate from a long distance."

Alastair thought for a bit, "Then we'll have to swap out Len with Reisa, since her casting range is about a kilometer."

Reisa nodded, "I can hold out a continuous telepathic link with a range of 1 kilometer for at least 5 hours before my mana drains out."

"That's more than enough," Alastair nodded, looking back at the map, "If they decide to cooperate, however, then we'll get all of you to fall back, go over here and wait for further instructions."

He pointed at another location near the entrance of the pathway.

Alastair took out the piece of paper Heliro gave him before kicking him out of his office,

"It's a demonic contract. If they have few in numbers, we'll have them join our ranks, but if they number over 1,000, we'll have them sign this to formalize the alliance."

The two nodded before rolling up the map and putting it back into their pockets.

As the sun went down and the streets became bare, Alastair, Seilon and Reisa headed off to the gates facing the valley.

No guards were seen patrolling the streets yet as street lamps began to light up. The three groups met up at the city border as Seilon explained their strategy. The squad quickly acknowledged the plan and they all dashed off into the distance, faster than any human could see.
