- Vesage Kingdom -
The bright morning sun shone its light through the kingdom, gracing the people with its warmth. Welcoming chatter from citizens and workers filled the air as each and every person began their daily lives.
"Eidal! Stop dawdling around! How are you going to become a capable knight if you take forever just to mop the floor," an angry voice rang out from a particular house.
"Oh yes, my all-knowing mother!" a voice grumbled in response.
"Oh, you little!"
Loud footsteps could be heard thundering down the stairs,
"Give me that," Eidal's mother snatched the mop of his hand and began beating the daylight out of him.
"Ow! Stop! I'll do it! I'll do it!" Eidal screamed, crouching down into a ball.
When the beatings finally came to an end, he snatched the mop before running upstairs to complete the given task.
"They're only 3 more days until I can finally leave this stupid house," Eidal thought to himself, repeatedly mopping a single spot.
In 3 days, the Vesage Kingdom Knights would begin recruiting new members to join their ranks. As the recruitment only happens once every 2 years, thousands of people from all over the Vesage Kingdom would come swarming in to participate in the entry test. Those who are skilled enough to join would earn 10 silver every day no matter what. As you rank up, the income would also increase from 10 silver to 50 silver. With only one promotion, people could earn 5 times the income. It was just too good of a deal to pass.
"Eidal! Have you finished mopping upstairs yet!? It's been an hour! What the hell are you moping for it to take this long?!"
"Yes, motherrr…" Eidal groaned once again, finally moving his mop to another spot.
"That son of a bitch…" his mother cursed, running up the stairs.
"I'm your son, mother. Don't curse yourself." Eidal muttered half-heartedly, before realizing what he had just said as he turned around to find his mother standing at the edge of the stair, clearly hearing what he just said.
"You…" she glared,
Sweat poured down his back.
"I..I'll just leave for now…" Eidal quickly stuttered, hurriedly looking for a safe escape before locking his eyes at the window behind him, and without hesitation, jumping out the 2nd story and landing safely in the garden.
"That kid. Who did he learn that from." His mother grumbled, slowly closing the window.
"You! I learnt it from you, mother! A voice could be heard from below, "I should really shut up now…"
A vein popped.
"You dirty rascal! Don't you ever come back! You hear me!" Eidal's mother screamed, thrusting the window back open and throwing whatever she had decorated on the windowsill down at the brat below.
"Oh, Mrs Kinling," an elderly voice could be heard from ahead. Eidal's mother turned to face the voice, to see her next-door neighbor also looking out her 2nd story window, "What a fine morning isn't it" the elderly woman chuckled.
"It sure is, Mrs Sinol" Eidal's mother replied with a warm smile, "I had just thrown out the trash and was just about to finish the daily chores. Would you like to come over and have some tea later today?"
"That's very sweet of you. I'll come over this afternoon. I've still got some trash of my own to throw out." The old lady chuckled quickly bowing her head slightly and closing the window behind her as she disappeared from sight.

Eidal wandered around the kingdom occasionally popping into blacksmiths to admire the swords and armor.
By the time afternoon rolled around, he had visited every popular blacksmith one could find in the Vesage Kingdom.
Chewing on a beef jerky he had swiped from a food stall and humming his favorite song, Eidal skipped his way around when a small alleyway with a blacksmith sign caught his eye. The broken and cracked sign would have definitely deterred many people from wandering in, that didn't stop Eidal since he had no cash on him and wasn't going to buy anything anyway.
Biting onto the beef jerky he pushed open the door, revealing an old dusty rundown shop. The few weapons and armor were all rusty run down, many had been chipped to the point they would probably break with a single touch.
With dust flooding his mouth and nose, Eidal ran outside coughing and sneezing,
"Damn it. Thought it might"ve been a magical shop where I could gain a magic sword or something." Eidal sighed, revealing his true intentions of going in.
After wandering the streets a bit more, the sun had nearly set and the street lamps had begun to flicker on.
"Should I return home…?" Eidal debated in his head, chewing on a different piece of beef jerky he had nabbed.
"Yea, maybe I should." He decided after weighing the pros and cons.
He finished the jerky and headed to the residential area while greeting the patrolling guards on his way.
By the time he arrived home, the smell of food flooded out the windows, welcoming him in.
"I'm back," Eidal called out,
"Dinner is on the table, eat it before it gets too cold," his mother replied from the kitchen, the sound of running water echoing behind her.
"Thank you,"
