Sipping my latte, I looked at my phone. Still no text. 'Ugh,' looking up from my phone, I saw a group of guys walk in, they were from my history class. One boy stood out to me the most, Jake. His muscles were fine tunes, like that of Ken barbie doll. I heard he wanted to join the football team, and his dad was a real-estate agent.
Jake started walking towards me with his friends.
Looking down, my heart raced.
They all sat down with me.
'You look lonely, Miss-'
'Miss Sarah Scones North, reporting to love sir!' I saluted to him.
They started to whisper amongst eachother. Taking glances at me, they all had lattes as well.
I felt stupid. He was a hot freshman boy, decided to sit with me, outside of school! And I salute to him. If god is real, then I hope he kills me as a part of his plan.
'Hey, now that I think about it, aren't we in the same history class,' Jake pointed at me.
I felt as though I was about to melt in my seat from how flustered I was. 'Y-y-yes I am.'
'Your face is a bright red you know?'
'Unfortunately,' I looked at his friends who got up.
'We're gonna wait in James car,' They headed out.
Being left alone with Jake, I felt a tad nervous. Tapping my fingers against the table, I lost all sense of words.
'So Sarah, got any friends?'
A wave of defeat washed over me. Sinking in my seat, I pulled myself back up. 'Uh,' I scratched my head, thinking of what to say, but then he, he grabbed my hand.
'Look, I heard what happened to you today, and if you really have no friends, then hangout with my friends and I,' he let go of my hand, 'Swear we won't bite,' he placed his hand over his heart.
Taking a deep breathe, I calmed myself. 'No, I don't have any friends,' smiling, I looked him in his eyes, 'I'd really appreciate your offer.'
Standing, his short-cut brown hair bounced,l revealing his green eyes much better now. 'Seeya at school tomorrow then? or after if you want to join me.'
I twirled my straw, 'We'll see,' I waved him off as he left. At that moment, my phone buzzed. Checking the text, my brother said he was gonna be here in 2. Grabbing my bag, I went outside and leaned against the wall.
Pulling up, my brother honked at me. 'Get in ugly!' He stuck his head out his window.
'Ha ha,' I said sarcastically. Climbing in the passenger seat beside him, I tossed my bag in the back. 'Even though I told you not to, you still beat up those kids?'
'Maybe..' He pulled out the lot.
'Someone on the administrative team told me.'
'Well they messed with you,' the light turned green, he drove on. 'As an older brother, I had to do something.'
Looking down at my legs, I hit my knees into one another. My hair, long, I laid back into it. 'Well,' I bit my lips, 'Thanks.'
Stopping at a red light, he scratched the top of my head, 'No problem.'
I smiled. 'Oh, let me tell you a friend I made today!'
'Oh?'
'His name is Jake, and when football starts, he wants to try out,' I sat up, 'And he wanted to be friends!'
My brother didn't respond, he simply pulled into our house, got out, and waited for me to step out to lock his doors.
Stepping out, I went inside, to my room, and onto my bed. Laying there, all I could think of, was about Jake.
