Chapter Seven: Past life Pains

Class was a bore as usual. It was beautiful outside. Birds singing, or chirping, whatever you'd prefer to say. Leaves are falling, all kinds of colors. Orange and yellow and red and brown. Fall was taking great affect after October. October was a tease, Novemebr is full throttle. Lunch was equal to giving a wild animal freedom after months of isolation. Sitting out in the patio, I held Sammy's hand.

'It's so beautiful outside,' Sammy smiled at me.

'It is.'

Inside the cafe it was loud and messy, but outside many didn't come sit due to bugs and such. I didn't mind. The blue sky. Dying vegetation. It all really showed the beauty that resides in the real world.

Sammy pecked my cheek with her lips. Soft and gentle, yet with a fierce force to them.

'Why not my lips,' I pestered her.

'Eating pizza,' she swallowed the bit, 'You wouldn't want sauce on your mouth now would you? After all, you're eating a salad.'

Ignoring her, I grabbed Sammy by the sides of her face and licked the sauce off her lips before locking lips with her. It was quick.

'Mmmm, yummy.'

'You're to silly,' she tossed a hand gestured at me.

'And I'd do it again.'

Sammy got up take her trash out.

'Take mine,' I offered her my tray.

'Sure,' she rolled her eyes as she relinquished me of my duty.

This feeling is something I wished I'd experienced before. I always was picked on before becasue of how weird I always was. An excuse I always told myself or others was that I chose not to make friends, but in reality, no one wanted to be friends with the weird girl.

Then I felt someone touch my back.

'Oh Sammy? Back so so-'

'Hello Sarah.'

Whoever was behind me, spoke in a snake like tone and whoever they were gave me goosebumps. Unwanted nostalgia flooded my head. His voice was awfully familiar and not on a good way. Turning towards the voice my body was shaking. Looking into the mans eyes I knew who he was.

'Oh, hi Andrew,' I gave a awkard smile.

'Hello bitch,' he sat where Sammy was.

'It's been awhile.'

'It was a good while too, since you're so strange,' he pulled out a vape and used it. Taking in some, he turned to look at my eyes before puffing a cloud in my eyes.

Coughing, I still smiled, 'You shouldn't be vaping, what if the staff cat-'

He shoved his vape in my mouth, 'They won't do shit. Many kids vape infront of teachers here. They don't care because they don't get paid enough,' he withdrawn his vape and cleaned it with a napkin out his pocket.

'S-sorry,' I had an ugly face.

Coming back Sammy pat Andrew on the back, 'Excuse me.'

Looking at Sammy, he flustered and stood up.

Before Sammy could sit down, he pulled her into him, 'Your beauty is...exquisite, we should leave this weirdo and go somewhere else.'

Sammy looked back me with a scary grin.

'Sammy?'

She turned back to Andrew, 'Sure.'

Andrew stuck his tongue out me. Turning around to take Sammy, his pants fell. 'Huh?'

Sammy then proceeded to pull down his underwear.

All around us people were taking pictures of his penis.

'Ooo, ouch. That's rather small. You can't pleasure girls with that,' Sammy had a evil laugh.

'N-n-n-no. It gets bigger,' he hurried to put his pants and underwear on.

'By like a centimeter?'

'You'll pay for this bitch!'

Then he ran off.

Sitting back down beside me, Sammy kissed me.

'Thanks,' I blushed.

'Anytime. He's lucky I didn't ram my knee into it,' she just held my hand.

'Scary.'

Later after that, I packed up my bag as the lady period began to let out. After the first day of school, nothing inconvenient has happened to me, the club meetings have been a bore, and class is nothing but work. Following suit after the bell rung, I made my way towards the main staircase. Since Sammy and I hooked up, we would talk too eachother after school while my brother went back to band rehearsals. Apparently he stopped because I became a student, but he doesn't need to worry about me anymore; or so I thought.

'Hey there, bitch.'

At first I thought none of it.

'Hey! I'm talking to you!'

As people rushed by, pushing me aside, I nervously turned around, grasping my backpack tightly.

Pushing through the crowd of students leaving the building, I saw a face that breed nightmares to me. Andrew Clark.

'Now listen here Sarah.'

I looked around for Sammy. I wasn't brave. I wasn't strong. I wasn't anything without her. I'm just a scared girl who can't face her past. I needed her. I wanted her. 'Mhm?'

'You'll never be anyone. Just because you have that hottie protecting you doesn't mean shit to me, you hear me?'

'W-w-why....'

'Why what,' he pushed himself in an aggressive manner towards me.

'Why do you hate me,' feeling something hot race down my cheeks, I dabbed my finger on the wet substance. I was crying.

'Like others, we just find you weird, annoying, and all the above,' he spat on my shoe, 'Right guys?'

As the crowd lessen, I saw other kids coming over. They were all part of Andrew's posse in middle school. The girls who'd pull my hair. The boys who'd crush my pride and self-esteem. Whatever was done to me in those years, it started with them.

'Fucking weirdo,' one puffed up a cloud a smoke as they put away their vape.

'But I-'

The dark skin girl threw a piece of crumpled up paper at me, 'Didn't mean talk.'

Turning, I made a sprint for it out the school as I kept my face buried in my arm to hide my tears.

Sitting outside of Starbucks, I got a call from Sammy. Wiping away my tears that still lingered on my face, I went to pickup the call before-

'Found ya!'

Andrew kicked my phone out my hand.

I glanced over at it. It rested on the pavement of the parking lot, an accurate representation of how I felt in my younger years. Discarded and alone.

'Thought you could run away did ya now?'

'I seem to be unable to find an escape from my past, huh..'

'What are you rambling on about?'

I got up and walked over to my phone. Bending over to pick it up, I knew I was exposing my ass to Andrew. Today I decided to wear a skirt, but today I thought was gonna be nice.

'I'm done with your bullshit,' flipping my hair, I walked off with my cracked phone.'

'Hey! I'm not done with you!'

Putting in my earphones, I drowned out the world around me and started walking home.
