I was done with Jake's shit. He'd played me for a fool, making me like him just to recruit me into his club. After today, I was no longer a part of it.
'Wait! Don't go Sarah, we have services tomorrow and by you leaving, our club might get cancelled!'
Attempting to slam the door on Jake as I stormed out the club room, he caught it.
'C'mon!'
'I want you to cut the shit Jake! Just join Key Club or something,' I kept speed walking towards the stairs.
'But I wanted-I wanted to...'
'You just want to be in charge,' I stopped in my tracks before looking at him, 'And you don't care to know me, yet rather you needed me out of desperation!'
He put his hands in his pockets, 'M-mabye,' he tilted his head away.
'Maybe? No, you know so,' going down the stairs, I was too flustered to pay attention to where I was going before-
'Hey!'
Tumbling backwards, I covered my face, 'I'm sorry! I wasn't paying attention!'
'Sarah?'
'Oh, Charles! What are your doing here?!'
'Remember, same school.'
'I mean afterwards idiot.'
'Oh, I'm in a book club.'
I raised a brow, 'Book club?'
'Curious to join, we don't do anything special, but we do occasionally go on trips. Why you care, wanna join?'
Thinking to how Jake used me, I didn't have much fun in the club, so i fixed my shirt and smiled, 'Yes please!'
Moments later and I nervously stood beside Charles, 'Ya know what, on second tho-'
'Nervous?'
'Yeah,' I said sheepishly.
'Let me tell you a secret,' he turned and looked at me, 'When I was a freshman, and still now, I was so nervous, I couldn't look people in the eyes,' he seemed as if he were about to laugh.
'Then how are you looking me in the eyes?'
'It's simple,' he fixed his hand on the door, 'Just be yourself,' turning the handle, he pushed the door open.
Walking in, I knew no one in there. One or two people seemed slightly familiar, to my assumption just from class.
'Hey everybody, I'm back with great news,' Charles then approached the teachers desk, were he then stood at the podium, ,First of all, Mr.Smelly Face had agreed to our funded trip.'
"Funded," I thought to myself.
'Next week we'll be going Scotland, with a couple of chaperones, so we can recreate scenes from Macbeth.'
Everyone cheered, while I, had no clue what was Macbeth.
'The other news is we now have another member,' he gestured his hand towards me, 'Miss?'
'Oh, me! Uh, hi,'I nervously waved to the room of people, 'My names Sarah Mchugglewuggle,' everyone gave me an odd glance before I realized, 'I MEAN SARAH NORTH,' my face grew a bright red.
'A fair maiden had fallen into our presence,' a man with blonde hair stood, pushing it to the side, he gave off the vibe of someone arrogant.
'Josh, cut the shit, I don't think everyone girl wants you to flirt with them,' now a skinny dude with a messy do spoke up.
'Josh and Harley, why dont either of you two fight and protect me,' now a black haired girl pressed her chest up against the boy Harely's back, 'Am I not hot enough?'
'God will you all shut up so we can read,' for the final person yet to be introduced, a man with long hazel brown hair going down long behind his back and his bangs slightly over his eyes.
'Well, you guys don't seem bland at all,' I squeaked out my mouth.
'Huh,' they all looked at me with scary faces.
'I didn't mean it in a bad way,' I started moving my hands around crazily, 'Just that people are boring, and I mean you're not boring but,' I started to laugh nervously.
'We're just toying with ya, welcome,' the girl changed expressions now to a more friendly face.
Looking at the guy with the long hazel brown hair, he still was wearing a scary face.
'Well, after that commotion, we should PROPERLY introduce ourselves,' Charles piped in.
'I'll go first,' the girl waved her arm, 'Hi Sarah, I'm Marley West,' she shook my hand.
'Ha, I'm north, your west.'
'Guess so,' her smile was warm, reminded me of Sammy. I needed to apologize to her before tomorrow, or tomorrow.
'Now now, it is my turn,' the guy with blonde hair arrogantly stood and pushed Marely aside, 'My names Josh Earnest,' he winked at me.
'I'm pretty sure you're older than me, freshman, and I also have a significant other already,' I smirked.
'Dang,' he shamefully walked back to his seat.
Approaching me was now Harely, 'Excuse Josh for his, interesting personality,' he shook my hand, 'Names Harely Black.'
'Ironic,' looking at his clothing choice, he only wore black and red. I began to wonder if he was born to be a fan over Harely Quinn.
Looking towards scary man, he just scuffed at me with his hands in his pockets, 'Tch, names Ashley Turner.'
'Friendly.'
Marely smacked my back, 'Don't worry, he's the just a big ol teddy bear.'
'Sure. What's y'alls grade levels by the way?'
'Junior,' Josh said.
'Junior,' Harely spoke.
'Senior,' Marely said seductively.
'Sophomore,' spoke Ashely.
'Wait, you're all uperclassmen,' I sunk to my knees, 'Ah.'
'Don't worry,' Charles came back into significance, 'They don't act like it,' he put down his phone.
'Wait, why's a sophomore in charge?'
'And why not,' he sounded offended.
'It's relaxing not to be in charge,' Marely said and the others agreed.
'Wow, so hes not special, just left overs.'
'I'm still here!'
Everyone just started laughing at him.
'Fucking assholes,' Charles rolled his eyes aside.
Seeing how everyone was acting, ignoring the grade levels, it was more welcoming than Jake's club of friends. In middle and elementary school I lacked friends and love intrest. Now in highschool, I may have gotten bullied, but in the end it seems all worth it.
'So, what book are we currently reading?'
'Actually, Josh and Harely have an assignment on Macbeth, so nothing currently,' Charles was still scrolling through his phone.
'Interesting,' I felt a hand slide down to my butt.
'I can see how you got a boyfriend?' Marely squeezed it.
'Hey!'
'Did I do something,' she raised a brow.
I moved away, 'Yeah, you're feeling my ass, and girlfriend not boyfriend,' my cheeks were a rosy red.
'I like you already,' Marely smiled right at me.
Looking over, I saw Josh just peering at her butt. This group was loveable and colorful all at once.
