Chapter 35: The meal

Stroph was sleeping for a long, long time. Finally, he could get a good sleep.

By the time he woke up it was about four p.m. Stroph slowly opened his eyes and yawned heavily, then stayed in bed for about ten minutes without finding the strength to get up and go to wash his face.

After a while he got out of the bed reluctantly and headed down to the bathroom. But when he reached the stairs he felt a very pleasant smell. Stroph didn`t understand where it came from, for they had no food at all. Wanting to find it out, he went to the kitchen where he saw a stunning picture.

Violet was standing at the stove cooking something, and there were already two plates on the table with large, appetizing chunks of meat and some vegetables at the side.

Upon seeing that, Stroph immediately turned to Violet, "Where did we get the food? I`ve wanted to order groceries today, but as I understand it, I don't have to do that yet." Stroph was still sleepy, but the sight of such appetizing meal definitely added to his cheerfulness.

Hearing Stroph's voice, Violet immediately turned to him and said: "Master! You should stay in bed, you're hurt!" She was agitated for she didn`t know that there was already no need to treat Stroph.

Stroph smiled slightly and said calmly: "Don't worry, the wounds are gone, so where's the food coming from?"

At first Violet didn't believe her master's words, but after looking at his healthy complexion and for the places where the wounds were, she realized that her master was indeed cured by some miracle.

After a while Violet replied, "Someone left many boxes of food near the house and there was also a note, which as I realized later, was addressed to you". Violet took out a folded note and handed it to Stroph.

He immediately began to read the contents. "Stroph, I wish to apologize for yesterday once again, you may consider this food as my sincerest apology." The piece of paper didn`t say who the sender was, but Stroph exactly knew who he was.

After reading to the end, he nodded and turned to Violet, "Where have you put all the food and where is my coat?" Stroph wondered what Cristo had sent him.

"All the food is in the fridge..." Violet was silent for a while, and then she hesitantly continued "Master, all this food costs an incredible amount of money, I don't want to pry into your business, but, please, tell me, does all this have something to do with last night?"

Hearing her words, Stroph merely waved his hand and said calmly: "You could say that." Then he headed to the fridge.

Stroph didn't know if Cristo was always so kind or just with him, but expensive food was never superfluous.

When opened the fridge Stroph just froze in the place. He liked to eat and was quite well aware of expensive, tasty and quality food.

That`s why the fully stocked fridge with expensive meat, rare seafood and exquisite sweets made him genuinely delighted.

After about a minute, satisfied Stroph closed the fridge, sat down at the table and began to eat.

At the same minute, he saw Violet carrying him a black, long coat.

"Master, here's your coat, I've cleaned it completely and all your things are already dried."

"Yeah, thanks Violet, you should sit down and eat too, these steaks are great, I'm starting to think more and more that last night's outing was definitely not pointless."

Hearing her master's words, Violet, carefully placed the "Snow White Darkness" on the back of her chair, sat down next to Stroph and began to eat happily.

After finishing his portion, Stroph stood up and got dessert from the fridge. It was an ordinary caramel cheesecake, but ordinary only in appearance. Apparently, it had been made with very expensive ingredients and by a master of his craft. Mercilessly destroying such a beautiful dessert, Stroph thought he should have to ask Cristo where he got it all and at such speed.

"If, you wish, you can have as much food as you want, I'll just buy more and that's it." With these words, Stroph finished the last bite of cheesecake and, without waiting for Violet`s answer, grabbed the" Snow White Darkness" from the chair and headed for the exit.

Violet wanted to ask him where he was going to, but at the moment she was enjoying her meal and besides she didn't want to seem intrusive.

As they left the house, Stroph was immediately asked by the "Snow White Darkness."

. Its voice was creepy and scary as always, but Stroph had already got used to it.

Stroph replied after a while: "Don't grumble, we'll be killing and killing and killing, leaving mountains of monster corpses behind us, but I need to get ready, I have weapons, but I need something else to kill most opponents from a distance".

Before calling Cristo to be taken to a place where he could hunt monsters, Stroph was going to a gun store and buy some kind of sniper rifle or something like this.

The system store also had weapons, but his points and coins were not enough to buy a super cool weapon and something decent could be found in the gun store.

Naturally, Stroph went to the lower town. Where else could he look for weapons but on the black market?

And again, the place where Cristo had taken him to for the first time was incredible. It was just like the last time, there were weapons, stolen goods, slaves and more.

But Stroph wasn't going to buy anything from the usual stalls or stores, he headed for the specialized area where many kinds of knives and firearms were sold.

Also just before he left the house he had taken two azure blades and put them in his inventory, he didn't know where to put the revolver so he just put it under his coat.

Stroph thought he had enough money, but who knew what the prices of really good weapons might be, so before he went to get a sniper rifle, he wanted to stop by a cold-arms store and sell the two blades.

After about half an hour, Stroph got to the right store, the sign of which showed two crossed swords.

Entering the store he immediately saw a huge amount of blades, sabers, swords and other things. There were no people here at the moment, because it was a rather expensive store with weapons made by a real master of his craft.

The salesman was a middle-aged man in an old-looking jacket. When he saw Stroph, he immediately approached him and said: "Sir, are you looking for something in particular or can I help you with the choice?"

The man acted very friendly and respectful, and a bright smile was shining on his face.

Stroph didn't have to think over for a long time and went straight to the point, "I want to sell two blades."

The man's face changed slightly and after a second of silence, he replied, "You need to go to our appraiser, he will tell you exactly how much you can get for your weapon."

After these words the salesman pointed the direction and come back behind the counter.

Stroph went in that direction, but just as he reached the door he heard a shout and at the same moment a man stormed out of the room, kicking out the door.
