Chapter 27

'Woah, that was such an epic story papa!' a little kid said. The father named Zeus smiled. Far away among the distant stars, the father and son were inside their house on their home planet.

'Get to bed now son, you have to wake up early tomorrow.' Zeus said as he helped his son clamber onto the bed and go under the blanket. He closed the ceiling light and turned on the bedside lamp.

'So, what do you learn from the story?' Zeus asked.

'Take good care of the environment and respect nature!' the small boy exclaimed with a smile.

'And what happens if you don't do that?' Zeus asked.

'You die- I mean you end up like the planet Earth.'

'Good boy! Okay, off to sleep now buddy. Goodnight!' Zeus said as he turned off the lamp and went out of the room. Walking towards the living room, he grabbed his thesis papers along the way so that he could do some studying.

Zeus sat down on the couch and looked through the papers thoroughly in case he had missed something. His wife came and handed him a cup of coffee. She sat down beside him.

'Still doing these yes?' She asked.

'Of course. It's strange how Earth had ended just like that.' Zeus said.

'Hm, I feel the same too.'

'I must find out where it all went wrong- so that our home does not face the same fate as Earth.' Zeus said as he laid back on the couch and stared at the photo frame, he had hung months ago.

He stared at the picture of the planet, its blue and green colour taken over by red, looking a lot like its neighbours Mars and Venus. The planet that once used to symbolize life is now completely barren of life. Nothing more than just a huge chunk of rock floating in the vast emptiness of space.
