Jump Ship

Serenica patched up some men, mainly those who could be helped, and the captain asked her something about her being able to concentrate under fire. Serenica was not in the proper state of mind to have a conversation about that. She was just doing what she could do to prevent people from dying on her. Those she could not help in this life could still have a decent time dying with some paw to ease their pains.

One of the enemy ships started to slide closer to them. Serenica did not have much time to observe its smooth movements, but in the space between two patients she happened to glance at the frigate coming her way, and what she saw gave her chills.

The dead man, Azzer, was at the front of the enemy ship, eyes covered under a white coating of some disgusting tissue, face swollen and his skin the sickly color of the recently drowned. He seemed to be functional enough to command a ship, but his will was surely the will of the Maroon King.
