When I finally lay my head on the pillow there's more questions in it than the normal. Before, all my confusion was about my impact and importance, today is more about if I can do what I need to and if this is really about me. I could be wrong, after all. The new part of the prophecy could have appeared by coincidence, but what about the dreams? Why am I having those apparently prophetic dreams? Wait.
I sit on my bed and get up so quickly I almost stumble. I go to the chest that is close to my loom, opening it and taking out the removable tote tray that contains my weaving stuff, underneath it I have lots of loose notes and calculations, papyrus rolls, measurement tools, some reeds with ink. Taking somethings I wrote, I start to looking for a specific content, something about a goddess I heard about sometime ago. There is so many divinities that occasionally is hard to remember all of them, so I keep my records, but I'm sure there is someone connected to dreams that show the future. I read all the texts quickly, standing when I found what I need.
Turning to my bed, I see that the owl is here again, on my window.
-Hey, Sophia. - she seems to recognize her name and gets closer as I sit down, reading what is there in my calligraphy - Circe. Did you heard about her? - there is no answer, obviously - Animals are not very eloquent, hun?
I sigh, paying attention to what I have in my hand.
-Goddess of witchcraft, charms, curses, magic, so on, so on, and... - I tap my finger on a word I wrote, emphasizing the coordinating conjunction when I talk - ...precognitive dreams. Maybe she can help me? - the owl moves to the ground, laying on a map and pecking it, rending part of the material. I gasp, taking it form under her - Sophia! This map took a lot of time to do... - I mutter to myself the last part, looking at the small opening she did where a island once was drawn.
Aeaea. The name is still visible.
-You clever strix. - I hear her hooting, as if responding me - Don't be sassy.
I put the notes and the map under some weight on my table and lay down again. Sophia goes back to her place on the window and also get ready to sleep.
-I will talk with my siblings tomorrow. This woman could give me the answers I am looking for, Soph, but I think I should not go alone. The prophecy mentioned a fraternity and to not wish to be alone, right? My sixth sense is telling me to pay attention to it, and my brain too. Maybe she knows who are those two people?
I close my eyes, relaxing and taking a deep breath.
My dream is again different from the from the first. I am laying on grass, looking up to a sky full of stars, feeling a calming breeze on my face. I hear voices, two distinct ones. For some reason I cannot understand what they are talking, but this does not stop me from laughing and smiling all the time. I also don't know what I'm talking but I notice that when I do the other two keep complete silence, what makes me know they are paying utterly attention, laughing when I do.
I look back and then turn, supporting my body with my elbows as my chest touches the ground, they do the same. The duo is the one I saw in the first dream, but both are now relaxed and happy, a small smile on the woman's face, a more goofy one on the man's lips, and I can fell my content expression too.
Right now, I do not know who they are. Don't know from where they come from or how we will meet. Don't know their names, ages, if they are mortals or not, but I also do not care. What I know is that I will love them with all my heart, and that is enough for the time being.
I wake up feeling extremely peaceful and happy, my smile growing every time I remember the dream. This also gives me a burst of energy to do what I need to. I take the papyrus with me and start looking for Hermes and the twins.
Walking around, I find Artemis on the stairs, sharpening her arrows quietly. I sit besides her, watching in silence for a bit.
-Good morning. - she says turning to me and smiling a little - I know that face, what did you found?
-Good morning. - I give her the text and map, she takes it and starts reading - There is a goddess that I think could help me. With the dreams stuff, that is. - she sees the representation of the territory I drew, with the little hole made by Sophia in Aeaea part.
-You are thinking about going talk to Circe?
-Yeah, do you know her?
-We have some causes in common, but you do know she was banished to that island, right? For killing a prince, her husband at the time. - my sister goes back to what she was doing - She also have a record of turning who she does not like into animals or monsters.
-Don't we all? - she chuckles a little, for sure remembering about Actaeon.
-He was insolent, and I have no fault about what his hounds did.
-Sure, but don't you think divinities take their revenge a little bit too far sometimes?
-Maybe, but I also think that this is not something easy to change.
We keep silent for a while until loud noises be heard. I see Hepheastus getting out of the temple he shares with Aphrodite, his wife close behind him. He takes his hammer, Hestia sees everything from the window of her home, Apollo comes outside as Artemis gets up. The twins take their bows and arrows, I see a sword supported on one of the walls of the blacksmiths god and love goddess place, so I take it for precaution, my sister and brother close behind me. I get close to the older man. His dysmorphism makes him easily recognizable, even more taking his other characteristics under consideration: skin looking like it was tanned by the Sun because of his work, his hand full of calluses, his messy hair and beard, both as dark as it can get. Everything makes his eyes - with the same color as Hera's - draw a lot of attention.
-What is happening? - I ask, hopping he would say that it's just a false alarm, but this hope disappears when I see my dad getting out of the main temple and goint to the edge of the mount.
-I knew they would not be able to keep the monsters away for much more time. - I turn to Aphrodite. Her blonde, long, straight hair resting on her shoulders delicately, her big violet eyes looking ahead as she holds her elbows in concern - I said it, but nobody heard it.
-Well... - her husband says, all our eyes widening with the vision - ...there is no way someone will ignore it right now.
