“I thought I might never see you again,” Palash said, his words almost a whisper “thank god that is not true” he smiled. 


I pursed my lips, he does not realize what he is talking about. 


I got up before he could complete his sentence. 


“Since you seem to have gained back your consciousness, we should leave.” 


“No! Parul, please wait” I halted my steps when I heard him, but what good would it do now? 


“Do I not deserve a chance of explanation?” he asked, it felt as though his voice quivered a little at the end of the sentence, or it could be my treacherous mind playing tricks on my imagination. 


“Officer Palash, if I had not discovered you at the temple, you would not have thought about this chance of explanation. Let’s… end this ill-fated relation here” I managed to say, although my heart was breaking at this point.
