Chapter 11

Peter and Franz cleaned up the best they could in the dirty, shared bathroom. They decided to use the shower, but the water barely trickled from the showerhead. Disgustedly, they went to their room and waited for the two girls. They sat on old chairs with worn and greasy upholstery, drinking soft drinks, looking at the door. Both had one objective in mind — defeating White Slavery. They knew that they wouldn’t eradicate it, but at least they will make a dent in the slavery market, particularly in Tunisia. It was a cause they committed to, and so far, it had led them to kill five Arabs.

“I’m going to the desk to get a newspaper,” said Franz.
