He would wake up in a cold sweat, his heart pounding in his chest as he tried to convince himself that it was just his imagination. But the footsteps grew louder, and he knew that it was only a matter of time before the killer came for him. He barricaded his door, hid under his bed, and tried to stay as quiet as possible.
