A breathe of fresh air
Today is a free day so I'm going on a run, I can't stand all this, I need to clear my head. I go outside walk several miles before I shift and run as far away as I can. I can feel the wind hit my grey fur and the sun warms up my body. The grass is turning yellow now and the trees are losing their leaves, it smells amazing, almost like a rain storm I look up and realize there is one headed for me so I take the opportunity to work on my mud running, it could use some work.
When I get back for lunch I decide to sit next to Thomas, I have grown attached to him after what he did for me. No one else seems to mind except connor who is sitting at our usual spot glaring daggers at both me and Thomas, I think Thomas noticed because he put his hand on my back as if to let Connor know I could get anyone I want and I'm thankful for it and just a bit red in the face from the sudden touch, but it feels so safe. The principal gets up to tell us the champions who will be competing in the olympics, first come wolfsbane thank God it's a nobody,Not because I care for Connor's safety but because it would all go to his head. Next is the girl Connor was fucking, I was wrong, she wasn't even from this school. then finally our school gets called "Alex Rader!" My neck almost snaps to catch his brother's reaction but he looks happy, almost proud I'd say. Thomas and I sit there and talk for awhile until the principal comes over wanting to speak with him, I watch him walk away, he looks back and I send him a small smile and wave which seems to piss of two people, Connor and William who looks like he might rip my head off so I quickly go back to my common room with him fast on my heels but I'm faster because of my wolf side and make it in safely. Tonight was going to be tough but I at least have Thomas and Dean in arts tomorrow and during free period so I'll talk to him then. I just hope he's okay. Suddenly someone knocks on my dorm room which is really unusual since I don't have many friends, I slip my hand on the gold door knob and turn counterclockwise, Dean is staring at me with a concerned look " Yvette? Are you okay? Are you mad at me? You haven't spoke to me in so long... I really miss you, I'm sorry if I did anything to hurt you." My heart feels like it's been stabbed, how could I forget my best friend? I need to tell him everything. Maybe Dean will forgive me if I'm lucky.
"So yeah that should be everything" I sigh. " So you are telling me that your brother's best friend helped you and that William Rader WHISPERED IN YOUR EAR?!?!" Jesus that man can get loud. "Shhhh! Yes that's about it I believe." I affirm "sounds like Thomas likes you to me, your family would be so surprised" what the hell? " No Dean he's just a very good person. My dad would probably have a heart attack, you know how he is." We talk all night and it was so relieving, I'm so glad I have Dean, I'll never mistreate him ever again.
