Chapter 13 : Asking for help

"Hey, what's wrong?"

I groaned while rubbing my face with a towel, "Nothing."

Jake leaned against the fridge, clearly not satisfied with my answer. Oh my god, I just got back from work and now I need to deal with him? Couldn't a girl take a break? Jesus.

But knowing Jake, he can be so persistent.

"What?" I narrowed my eyes at him.

"Tell me."

Crossing my arms together, I huffed and said, "I told you it was nothing."

"You're frowning right now and your shoulder are tense. Something happened earlier. What was it?" Jake groaned, he was getting frustrated.

"This weekend, I think I'm gonna go visit dad. I bet he must be crying since his little princess which was me by the way didn't visit him as much now." As I flipped my hair, trying to look as natural as possible.

"Myra," Jake knew I was avoiding his question.

"Wanna come?" I asked him while putting a box of donuts that I just bought on top of the kitchen counter.
