The Eternal Secret

The moon was glistening in the dark sky. There was a light pole shining in the empty ally across the street. Three men were standing underneath. My father knelt down and pulled me into a hug.

"I'm so sorry" he says to me as he kissed me on the forehead.

"What are you sorry for dad?" I ask, but he only looks at me with sad eyes.

We start walking toward the three men. I'm growing more nervous as they turn toward us looking our way. As we approach the three men I squeeze my dads hand not wanting to get any closer, but he tightens his hand more firmly around mine, and tugs.

"Let's make this quick" he says to the men with a hint of anger. I'm wondering what my dad means when the tallest man grabs me by my arm and pulls me to his side. Shocked and confused, I look over to my dad for help.

"She's fifteen?" The tall man asks.

"Yes" my father says with regret.

I turn to the man holding onto my arm with fear.

"She will make a perfect bride." Says the man who I realize has piercing blue eyes.

I turn to my dad not understanding what is happening but he's already walking away. I try to run to him but the man with blue eyes roughly grabs around on my waist and picks me up with no effort. He throws me over his shoulder as I scream and kick wanting to get out of his grasp, but I can't. The darkness starts taking over my vision and the world seems to swirl around me as the image of my dad walking away starts to fade.
