"Am I acting now?"

Terra shut the door behind her, "Please have a seat." The elderly man said as he walked around a big table, sitting himself in a large brown armchair. She followed his commands and moved to sit in the chair across from him. "My name is Sylvester." Terra said nothing letting her eyes wander around the room, it was dark and she noticed a window behind the man named Sylvester but her eyes narrowed in confusion when she couldn't see the outside. "My son, Conner found you passed out under a telephone pole. Could you tell me how that happened?" Terra's eyes moved to the man and she leaned back against the uncomfortable chair, "Could you tell me why there are windows in this house but no scenery to see outside it." Her eyebrow lifted, "Why are you hiding the truth from the children you I assume 'saved'?" Sylvester's once friendly face turned sour, there was a knock on the door. "Come in." The door opened with a voice, "Mary is ready." Terra's hands tingled, something about this place was off.

"One of the children, Ivy." Sylvester spoke, bringing his attention back to Terra and she licked her lip, hands closing. "She treated and stitched up a pretty nasty burn on your leg." He placed his two hands on the desk, leaning closer, "How'd you get it?" An amused chuckle left Terra's lips as she followed Sylvester's movements, leaning closer as well. "All of you." Terra whispered, "Are living in dream world." She smirked leaning back in her seat. The elderly man growled standing up so fast, his hands banging onto the table and his chair screeching back. "I'm done playing around!" His shouting did nothing but make Terra's smirk widen. "Where did you come from?" He asked, now threateningly staring down at her. "You know Sylvester." Terra stood up slowly, placing both hands on the table and leaned closer to Sylvester, not intimidated by him at all. "Humans, aren't the only ones killing those children."

Sylvester's eye twitched and Conner glanced between the two, ready to protect his father at all costs should something happen, "Conner, take her back to the room. Get Mary to do what she needs to." Sylvester gritted his teeth, "We need all the information we can get." Conner walked over to the young raven haired girl and wrapped his hand around her arm, "I'll play nice for now old man." She said with a twinkle in her eyes, Conner tightened his grip and moved, making her move with him with no choice. "I'm determined to live and be free and I won't be sorry for what I do in order to achieve it." Those were the last words she spoke as she was dragged out of the room.

"Stop acting." Conner muttered under his breath as he guided her to the room she was first placed in, "What was your name again?" Terra hummed, "Daddy's boy?" Terra smirked and licked her lip, glaring at the faces who looked at her. Conner tightened his grip on her, "I'll watch your mouth if I was you. You're under our roof." He hissed and Terra chuckled but said nothing. After a few minutes of walking in silence they finally entered the room she was in before. Conner harshly let go of her and pushed her, closing the door behind him. "Mary." Terra finally noticed another person in the room and sighed, "I'm sorry but could you please sit down." The purple eyed girl asked softly and Terra said nothing, moving to sit on a bed.

The girl named Mary walked over with saddened eyes, "I'm so sorry about this." Terra's brows furrowed, "Wait." Terra held out her hands finally figuring out what the girl is, "You can't-" Mary sped walk to her and quickly placed her hands on either side of Terra's head.

The electricity hummed loudly as screams bounced off the wall, a body shaking on a doctor's bed. A man stood next to the bed, a clipboard in his hands as he took down notes. Footsteps entering the room brought his attention off the board and to the figure, "Don't you think you're taking it too far. It's not too late to stop." The female voice spoke with sympathy but was replied with by an evil chuckle. "Stop?!" The man turned to face her completely, "I'm so close to perfection!"

He turned back to the subject who was now staring at him with wide broken and pleading eyes, "I believe it's time to heat things up a bit." His hand reached out and his fingers turned a knob. The body's back arched and their eyes closed. The brown eyed man laughed in pleasure, "I'm so close."

Terra pushed the girl off her and Mary flew back hitting the wall, Conner was quick to stand by her side. The look in Terra's eyes made the two freeze, Conner slowly helped Mary to her feet still keeping his eyes on the one grey eyed girl. Terra stood up and Conner swiftly placed Mary behind him, "Am I acting now?" The pain slipped past her voice and Conner's once tensed body eased as his eyes softened to one of confusion. Terra continued glaring at them as she placed a hand on the wall, the metal broke apart underneath her hand and a hole opened up. "Wait!" Mary shouted and Terra turned away from her, one leg in the now opened wall, "Get out." Terra's voice was low and dark. Turning her head Terra's eyes shimmered and Conner saw a glimpse of pain before Terra stepped into the opening. The wall moving back to its original position, looking as if it was never altered.

Sylvester sighed as his fingers created a rhythm on the wooden table in front of him. His chair scraped back as he stood up from his seat and he turned around facing the boarded up window. The newcomer was tough but he would do anything to get the information he needed.

After all in this world we are all looking out for ourselves.
