"I am sorry."

Ryan walked into his office, a small smirk playing at his lips. "How did you find out about me?" His voice caught Sylvester's attention. "My son Conner, he has the ability to teleport. I send him out twice a day to find survivors and make sure no one is around our area."

Ryan sat down on a chair at the head of his table, motioning Sylvester to take a seat. "He came back one day, a few weeks before he found Terra. Conner came across what he called a "fortress", multiple men walking around with masks and in their hands a weapon which he described. I came to the conclusion that it was guns."

A look of realization crossed over Ryan's face, "You know what I am speaking of?" It came out as a question but Sylvester already knew the answer.

"My son found something." Sylvester started, leaning forward in the chair. Terra nodded, her hands wrapped around the arms, "Do you know anything about it?" "My father was a scientist. The factory is actually a laboratory which the authorities had close connections with, if what you're saying is true. Then your son saw the government."

Tan and Terra stepped out of the room, the air still tense from what the young woman revealed to them. "Tan." Her voice left her causing the man to face her. "I need to tell you something."

As if he didn't hear her he responded, "What kind of father...no what kind of person does that to someone else?" Terra shut her lips and her eyes wandered the long hallway, her fingers shaking. "How did those people believe him?" "People will believe anything when they think there's nothing left."

Mary's feet came to stand with them, "Terra." The two stared at purple pupils, "Nora is coming."

Footsteps echoed in the hallway as a figure appeared in their eyes. An elderly lady with grey blue eyes made Terra freeze, "You have grown up." Her motherly voice caused tears to form. "Nora." She breathed.

"We can catch up another time my dear. Ryan is commencing the tests." The raven haired girl rolled her eyes, "Let him. He will learn the consequence." Tan felt himself wandering what she meant, "What do you mean consequence?" Mary crossed her arms and looked down at the ground as golden eyes fluttered over to her.

Nora shook her head and took Terra's hands into hers, "I know you aren't like that Terra." A smile on her troubled face as it shone with love, "You protect people, even if they've done you harm. You're a good person, don't let Ryan ruin another family."

Terra sighed and looked down at their connected hands, "It's too late for that." She replied remembering her past. Nora squeezed and glanced at the other two, "I know." Tan came closer to Nora, "But we can try."

Mary stared carefully at the scene playing out in front of her, "I am sorry." Her voice came out softly as her trait allowed her to enter Terra's thoughts. Her ability has been changing, allowing her to glance into what a person was thinking without any contact. It only lasted a couple seconds but it seemed her power only started growing when she first entered Terra's head.

She didn't understand why or how the interaction unlocked this but she had an idea that it had something to do with Terra's own telekinesis.

"I'm just going to do some tests." Ryan said as he guided Sylvester to lay on one of the white beds. Conner and Ally stood off to the side, "What are the tests for?" Ally pushed some of her snowy hair away from her face, "He looks at your brain." She started and Conner's brows furrowed, "The liquid effects the brain, opens up parts which lock super human traits. In simple terms you are able to use a part of your brain you didn't have the intelligence to before."

"So it forces your brain to open." Conner mumbled. "Doesn't sound safe." Ally glanced at Conner, "No it isn't. A lot of people died here, I am surprised you agreed to your father doing it."

Conner studied Ryan as he put a screen over his father's head, "Didn't you get your powers from him?" "No." Ally turned her head to stare at the doorway, "I was an orphan. The orphanage I lived in was destroyed, I have few memories of how. A few kids got out by the nuns help but others unfortunately..." She trailed off.

There was a sound of a ring before Ryan pushed the screen away. "Hold out your arm." Ryan instructed. "I ran away." Ally continued, "After a couple of weeks of walking aimlessly I ran into some men in masks. They tried to take me and I had to protect myself."

"You electrocuted them." He stated and she nodded. "Adults don't have abilities because their bodies couldn't adapt to the increased and now heavily exposed radiation. That's what Ryan told me when he found me."

Sylvester looked at his son as Ryan walked off, "I am surprised Terra is still alive." Ally caught Conner's attention and he looked at her questioningly, "What are you talking about?" Ally sighed, "We were exposed to the outside, our bodies adapted to our new surroundings. Us breathing in the radiation caused our brains, our intelligence to expand, it expanded to make sure we would survive. The abilities is a part of us, it wouldn't harm our health. It's who we are."

Conner came to the ending quickly, "He injected her." Ally nodded and motioned towards his father. "Before it's too late, stop him."
