Not Really Prince Charming

Storybooks, movies, and television shows have specific character archetypes that are always present no matter what the plot is. There is the usual outlaw or rebel who won't tolerate and follow society's demands. Then there's the supporting caregiver, the funny jester, and the relatable everyman. Of course, no entertaining narrative would be complete without the beloved and courageous hero who rises to the occasion and saves the day. Until recently, this role has been male-dominated.
