Chapter 20

"Your never told me your cousin was hot." Lucy comments, applying mascara through the reflection of our microwave.

Ella giggles quietly as she takes another sip of the cocktails Lucy made. They're mostly vodka.

"Woah Sunny you're looking hot tonight." Josh comments entering the room with Alfred.

I shake my head and giggle at his shameless compliment.

Lucy strongly suggested I wear my new dress along with the heels she got me for tonight. I finally confessed to her about Leo and she wasn't half as upset as I thought she'd be but she did insist on getting me drunk tonight to escape my issues for a little bit.

We're going to some club downtown I'm not sure where exactly but Lucy got the info from someone that it's a good spot.

"Yo Luce is your lawyer friend coming?" Josh asks, pouring a glass of the mainly alcohol cocktail.

"Not for you maggot." Lucy says rolling her eyes.

Josh just smiles mockingly and flips her off.

"You guys ready to go." Alfred asks.

I pat my hair feeling a little nervous. I've never been this exposed before and I know Leo advises me to stay away from central or the north side of Finridge because it's a little unsafe but I feel at ease knowing we're a group and apparently Derek is meeting us there too.

I don't realize that I'm already a bit tipsy until I start dancing to the music in the car.

"I can't believe you're older than me." Lucy says for the second time today.

I giggle at her confused face and bop her on the nose.

Her brow lifts and she smirks , "Already Sunsun?" She scoffs in surprised.

"Well there was a lot of vodka in those cocktails Lucy." Ella defends me.

"Weaklings." Lucy shoots back at the two of us.

"Damn we'll be in line all night." Alfred groans looking at the long line outside of the club.

"It's okay I got us in already." Lucy says.

"How?" Josh asks the question on my mind too.

"I've got friends." She shrugs and gets out of the car when the engine shuts down.

"C'mon kids follow Mama." She waves us over walking far ahead. Or maybe not that far ahead.

Taking in the entrance I know I've been here before. That night Leo got us kicked out.

"Sunset." Ella reads the light up sign.

I pull down my dress a few times as we walk inside and the bouncer eyes me curiously but doesn't say anything.

"Now." Lucy turns and wiggles her brows, "Shots." She says.

I shake my head but am still dragged along to the bar.

"3 vodka shots please." Lucy orders holding up three fingers.

My eyes bug out and I shake my head at her frantically.

"C'mon Sunny. 3 shots because it's the third." she tries to reason "You're lucky it's not 21." She turns back to the bartender who's filling up the shot glasses flawlessly. I wonder how long it takes to perfect that.

Lucy pays the girl and turns to me with a devilish smirk.

"Happy birthday Sunny." Ella says, egging me on.

I take in a deep breath and prepare myself for the vile taste.

Leo

I still smell like fucking rubber from taking down that big ass bouncy house. Eddie practically ran out of there not even offering to help but he apologized by paying for the first round.

"Your girl's here." Eddie says pointing over to the bar.

I see a blonde girl smiling at me from behind the bar. I nod in her direction and turn back to the drinks Eddie brought to the table.

"One beer?" Marc scoffs eyeing our friend in disgust, "You have more money than me, you cheap fuck."

"How do you think I do that huh?" Eddie retorts flopping down on the sofa across us, "By not spending it on ungrateful dicks at the club." He shrugs taking a sip of his beer.

I shake my head at this idiot not prepared to add to their constant bickering.

"You think April's here tonight?" Eddie asks looking over his shoulder trying to act nonchalant but Marc looks at me catching the tense tone in his voice as well.

"I don't know," Marc's face scrunches up in thought, "I'll ask her." He smirks pulling out his phone.

Eddie whips his head in Marc's direction.

"What the fuck did y-"

"I'm not playing this game with you Edwardo." Marc rolls his eyes, "Call her or I will." He waves his phone at Eddie with April's contact details displayed.

Eddie grumbles about how we're both assholes as he takes off to the bathroom.

"I didn't do shit." I comment and receive the finger from my friend.

"Why do you have April's number?" I ask taking a sip of the beer.

"It's my client, April." He laughs loudly.

"Asshole." I join him in laughter.

Marc frowns at his empty bottle and I take the last sip of mine before standing from the couch.

"I'll get next round." I tell him and head towards the bar.

Cooper watches me as I make my way towards her but some part of me is hoping to get Rosco instead.

"Hey sugar what'll it be." She smiles leaning over slowly.

I take in what she's displaying and suddenly miss Sunny for the first time in two days. I wish it was her shamelessly allowing me to look at her cleavage. I ignore this feeling but it's difficult because I haven't missed someone since the days after my mom's death.

"Leo?" The blonde smirks proud that her tits distracted me but I won't correct her by saying I was actually thinking about my dead mother. I doubt women like to hear that.

"Burbon neat and two vodka sodas." I order.

Still smirking she walks to the other end of the bar swaying her hips in the process.

I feel someone's eyes on me and I turn to see a familiar face but I can't place it. All I recognize is an instant annoyance at the nervous look on his face.

"How do I know you?" I ask at the guy who looks ready to shit himself.

"I'm Derek, I train at the Nest." He mutters.

Parking lot, I recall. I guess the nervousness makes sense now. I look down at the large tray in his hand packed with glasses.

"It's not just for me it's for my friends too." He explains frantically pointing behind me.

"I don't care." I sigh turning back to the bar where I see Cooper stifling her laughter.

"You seem like you could take the edge off." She comments placing the tray in front of me.

"I guess." I take a sip of the whiskey she put down on the tray.

"I get off at 12. I could help." She speaks slowly.

I take in her ample cleavage and blue eyes trying to figure out why it's not working.

The DJ plays a new song and I turn towards the loud feminine shrieking that suddenly erupts.

Girls love Beyoncé.

As if time stands still I see Sunny's big eyes watching me from across the room. Her presence isn't even the only shocking thing it's the fucking dress she's wearing. Ending at mid thigh and tight around her small waist and perfect tits. That dress makes her look like the most tempting sin ever created.

Her friends continue to dance around her unaware her eyes are fixed on me. She looks surprised but happy to see me. Which is confusing but what's even more confusing is her making her way over to me. She skips, like I'm now realizing she does a lot, and her glorious tits bounce as she does this. I'd be in a blissful trance if I didn't notice the three other assholes she passes also taking in the sight of her.

It's not until she's right next to me that I see the glossiness of her eyes.

"Leo, Hi!" She yells louder than necessary and surprises me with the weight she lays on me when wrapping her arms around my waist.

I hold onto her arms and feel how hot she is. When she moves away from me I see the slight pink in her cheeks and the sweat gathered on her forehead.

I catch the gaze of some asshole looking at Sunny from behind and finally fed up I rip my jacket off to place around her.

"Oh no, thank you Leo I'm not getting cold." She smiles brightly shrugging it off.

"Just keep it on." I demand agitatedly as I pull her arms through the sleeves and zip it up all the way.

She holds her head up trying not to suffocate in the jacket that looks ten sizes to big for her.

"But I can't dance in this." She moans wiggling the leather sleeves.

"Dance?" For some reason the thought makes me nervous.

She nods, still smiling cluelessly.

"No." I say and she looks up at me confused, "No dancing here. I told you about coming to this side of town." I scold the girl drowning in my jacket.

"But it's my birthday." She complains sounding like a spoiled kid as I drag her by the sleeve outside of the club.

"I know."

"Then why didn't you wish me a happy birthday?" She rips her arm from mine as we pass the bouncer's booth away from bystanders.

"Sunniva I-"

"Are you upset about that night when I acted inappropriately?" Her voice sounds sad and it pierces something inside of me.

"No S-"

"Because I haven't heard from you in 2 days and you must know I have a crush on you and I saw you talking to that girl at the bar with the pretty hair and you don't like my dress and don't wanna kiss me." She takes in a deep breath after this.

I'm stunned for the first time in fucking forever just staring at this gorgeous girl and all I can manage is, "I do like your dress." Fucking dickhead.

"You do?" She smiles excitedly unzipping the jacket and opening it to display her little black dress, "My Aunt got it for me." She comments flicking her strap and it snaps against her skin, I'm hard immediately.

I nod slowly removing her hands to redo the zip. I'm convinced she's trying to kill me.

"Leo, do you not like me back?" She asks looking up at me, "Because if you don't I won't be mad, we can still be friends."

"Sunniva," I grasp my jaw trying to string my words together, "I can't put you in... you don't understand..." I shake my head trying to come to my senses.

"So tell me then." She rubs my arm encouragingly.

Her big brown eyes look at me expectedly. I hold her warm face in between my palms and lean down towards her but hesitate when I glance down at her.

She stretches meeting me halfway and places her lips on mine. I deepen the kiss and dip into her mouth caressing her tongue. She moans into my mouth and I swear I'm hard as a fucking rock now. I caress her soft face as lightly as I can and I bite her plump lip. When I open my eyes to look at her and her sultry gaze teases me and if it weren't for the glossiness in them I'd fuck her up against the wall beside us.

She pouts sexily when I hold her back from kissing me again, "You're drunk Sunny." I inform her.

"I am not." she argues, trying to pull me down to her lips again.

She frowns when I remove her hand and I chuckle slightly, "If I get sober will you kiss me then?"

"I'll kiss you in the morning, Sunniva." I say contradicting myself by placing a kiss on her forehead.

"Sleepover at my place." She says, tugging my hand between the both of hers.

I shouldn't. I know I fucking shouldn't.

"I won't try to kiss you until the morning, I promise." She holds her pinky finger up between us.

I huff annoyed at my weak will as I interlock my pinky finger with hers. For some stupid selfish reason I believe her, I remember how serious she was about these kinda deals.

She jumps up in excitement and pats my jacket until she pulls out my keys and hands them to me.
