"I didn't clean up before I left so ignore the mess." Leo says, as we enter the elevator.
The elevator is much larger than ours and their red button isn't caved in. I bet it works too.
"This seems like a real nice building."
"I guess it's better than the dump you live in." He jibes.
I shove him playfully, "Hey, it's not that bad. It has character." I giggle.
"Suspicious characters?" He counters.
I shove him again and bite back my laughter.
"How do Dr. and Mrs. Wallace feel about your grungy apartment building?" He ask as we exit the elevator.
I roll my eyes at his teases and shake my head, "They haven't been over yet." I confess.
"Well I'm sure they'll have you outta there in no time."
I stand behind him as he opens his door.
"I don't want that. Lucy and I saved up all year to be able to live there. It's the first thing I've ever done without my Moms's help."
His hand stills on the doorknob and he looks over his shoulder at me and nods, "I get it."
