Chapter 62

"Shit." I mutter, hearing the rustling of a mattress and my hand stills on the doorknob.

I look back to find Sunny clutching one of the large pillows on the bed.

Sighing in relief I exit the room and pull out my cellphone buzzing from my back pocket.

23 Dunkin Valley drive

Is the address sent from Freddy's number.

It'll take a half hour to get there since I'm out of town but I'll take the chance anyway.

I know what I have to do. After today there's no way in fucking hell I'm ever going to be more than a few feet away from Sunny. She's more addictive than anything I could ingest and I'd die for my next fix.

She loves me? She fucking loves me. Fuck, how does that make any sense? She's so fucking perfect and she loves me?

Hearing it the first time was so jarring but then the I didn't want her to stop saying it, convinced it was a dream.

It's so foreign to hear too. I haven't heard those words in over fourteen years.
