"Th-thanks for the day Mr. Woo." Marty waves at me on my way out and I nod in response. 


Why the fuck is he thanking me? I am getting paid to be here, ain't I? 


From what I've gathered today Marty owns the shop but Reed, Carl and Alexis basically run it. Alexis deals with customers, Reed lists and orders parts, Carl handles finances and they just make Jones do all the heavy lifting. On top of all of that they're mechanics too. I now understand why their salaries are not your average mechanic salary. 


I gathered all this information today without having a single conversation with any of them. 


Carl, I just met but he seems as reluctant to talk to me as Reed and Marty. I wish Alexis was the same way. Her mouth was running the minute I got in this morning and only until I stared at her blankly with open contempt did she get the message and walk away. 


Jones is the only tolerable one. I sat in silence with him during my five minute lunch break.
