"Yeah?" I press.
"Yes, I'll be home right after but you have to talk to me, Leo."
"I will." I sigh before ending the call.
"That Miss Sunday School?" Alexis quips up behind me.
I hum in response and start clearing up around my station.
"How'd you two meet anyway? Cause the idea of someone as, well.. sunny as her being with a grouch like you boggles my mind."
"Go away, Alexis."
"Just asking.. you know I dated a girl like that once? Preacher's daughter. Real Jesus freak." She laughs ignoring my look off boredom.
"I loved her so I ignored the weird way she'd force me to go to church or read the Bible with her but later I realized.. she was just trying to fix me. She didn't love me." Her pale blue eyes grow hard, "I don't know just watching you two brings back memories. Hopefully your Sunday schoolteacher is different."
My chest grows tight but I don't let her see the effect of her words, "Go away, Alexis." I groan.
