Ch. 7 "DOME OF THE EAST"

"Bad feeling? that kid looks normal to me, could it be that the glasses I made is starting to have issues?"

"I don't know, its just a hunch"

"You should rest with your new member, I'll check on things then meet all of you there to explain everything"

"Understood, I shall now take my leave Professor"

Rylee walked out of the room and proceeded to meet with his squadron, but, he was still bother by what he saw those eyes somehow resembled the eyes of the demons they were fighting. Rylee was lost in his thoughts up until he arrived at the room, as he entered, the room was filled with laughter everyone was smiling and talking, but it was all in his head.

What he really saw was tired people resting in their own bed in silence, he went to the sofa at the end of the room and sat there while his eyes looked around his old and new subordinates. He was not happy or sad as he knew that if these people make a wrong move, only death awaits them.

*back at the monitoring room*

"Locked file huh? Professor Charles just what are you hiding?, locking all your information after you suddenly disappear, how can I make a replica of the strongest weapon if I no longer have access to your files"

The professor was stressed as another locked file appeared in front of her, she then opened an encrypted message sent to her by Professor Charles who disappeared without a trace 12 years earlier, she tried to decipher the message but still failed to do so. The closed the message and opened the footage they were watching earlier  to review it again, as she was watching closely she saw a security camera that was facing Rei from a distance, she was about to connect to it when she suddenly received a call.

"Was the operation complete?"

She said to the person on the other side of the call.

"Yes Professor! we've lost around 9,736 humans"

The person responded.

"That many? is this batch a failed one? *sigh* Recover the survivors and send then straight to the lab, it's time to restart the dome"

She said before ending the conversation and walking out of the monitoring room. As she exited multiple guards were already waiting for her outside, she walked pasted them and followed her as they reached a dead end of a corridor. She stood in front of it when a small camera appeared that scanned her eyes, which then opened a door that was hidden behind the dead end.

She entered a elevator which descended to the deepest part of the laboratory known as the central, the door opened and she entered the central. Inside were dozens of people working on desks while a huge screen with cameras connected inside the dome. A man was in front of i watching closely as military men charged to fight the demons.

"Is the clean up still not finished?"

The professor asked the man, the man responded without even glancing at the professor who stood beside him.

"There almost done, has he arrived already?"

"Commander Rylee of Squadron III?"

"Yes"

"They have but something is bothering him I just don't understand him, its like he saw something out of this world"

"Out of this world? what could more out of this world than demons destroying earth slowly, I can't believe this place used to have beautiful sceneries"

"That is true, but all we can see now is an endless scorching dessert, monstrous blizzards, tsunami's that are higher than mountains"

"They have already finished"

"I see, shall we begin the restarting of the dome?"

"Why ask me? I don't know anything about that, you people are the ones doing this inhuman act"

"Why are you always so defensive Commander Hugo, no one ever said you were part if this"

She laughed a bit as the man she had a conversation with walked towards the elevator and left the central.

"Now then, everyone pay attention!"

She said with a loud voice.

"Once again we area about to Restart the dome, I want all memories erased, new people will live there and will reproduce, we will do another restart after 20 years"

She declared to everyone who rejoiced on her order, as the procedure began she walked towards another man who was slacking off.

"*cough* What are you doing?"

The man had a book opened on his face and lifted once side to peek on who was talking to him.

"Ah if it isn't Professor Misty Cloveria, so what does the high and mighty want from an idiot like me?"

He said as he began reading the book that was on his face.

"How's the production of Star: Atria?"

The professor asked him, but the man purposely did not answer to piss her off he just stared at the book not even changing the page.

"I see, so the silent treatment huh"

"109 has been made since yesterday and 201 of Zosma  which makes 300 in total"

"Distribute it to the 30 camps towards the north-east and then produce 200 Zosma and then distribute it to 15 camps on the south-east"

"Sure, if that is what the high and mighty wants"

He said before walking out to a door that was near his desk.

"What is his problem?"

She said staring at him as he walked away, she then returned to the front of the screen as she monitored what was happening inside. The build within the domes were collapsing one by one people were evacuated to shelter which slowly went underground, inside those shelter the survivors were having their memories wiped out and were being replaced with a new set of memories.

She saw that the restarting of the dome was heading to success so she left the central and headed to the room where Rylee and the others were resting, but before she could get there she was requested to check a subject who was rejecting their experiment. She arrived to a room that was separated by one huge one-way mirror, on the other side was a man tied up to a bed screaming, his hands were rapidly decaying along with feet, the screamed again and again until blood started to come out of his mouth, nose, ear and then his eyes, as the heartbeat monitor beside the bed came to a flat line the man was announced dead.

"Professor what shall we do with the body?"

A man wearing a protective coverall suit on the other side of the room asked through a microphone.

"Dispose the body outside the wall, and remove the Star gear from him, after removing it inject him with a core virus that should kill the demons outside"

The room was silent no one dared to speak as they knew that it had to be done, whether they like or not even it was a inhuman act they have no choice but to do it.

The professor walked out of the room biting the nail of her thumb.

"Another failure!! why does these things even need compatibility! Professor Charles why?, why did you suddenly leave us when you were the one who knew everything that our ancestors knew!"

She said as she walked towards the room, outside waiting for her arrival was Commander Rylee.

"Another failure huh?"

He said as he saw the stress all over her face.

"The compatibility was over 50% but his body still rejected it! and we can't continue with this much casualty, if this continues innocent people will have to be sacrificed"

She said as she leaned on the wall opposite from the commander.

"Is there no final compatibility rate? that can be used as reference?"

"There's is none, most of the ones that received a Zosma where above 60% while some cases were between 39%-42%, the Atria on the other hand needs 55% and above compatibility rate, while the specially made ones has an unknown compatibility rate, its as if it chooses its user"

"I see, then those three are lucky to be chosen"

Professor Misty stared at Rylee who was smiling, she bit her lips in pity to Rylee's fake smile.

"Sorry"

"Huh?, why are you apologizing?"

"Because I forced you to-"

She was stopped when Rylee stared at her.

"Whether we like it or not, what's done is done, don't blame yourself too much. None of us wanted this, we were born in a cruel world where fighting is a must to survive"

"Sorry"

Rylee then grabbed her wrist and pulled her inside the room where everyone was waiting for her to explain what was actually happening.

As she entered, everyone was sitting down on their own beds in silence, she walked straight to the sofa and sat there not even glancing on anyone present in the room. Rylee on the other leaned on the door looking at his left hand.

Rei raised his hand and asked a question.

"Uhm... what are those weapons those three were using?"

The professor looked at Rei who had his right hand up but did not look at her, he had his eyes closed which was seemed pretty weird for the professor, but answered anyway.

"Those are what we call STAR, a Spatial Technology from Astral Rocks. It is a weapon created by our ancestors to fight back against the Demons"

She explained. Rei then lowered his right hand and turned his head facing the professor, he opened his eyes and asked.

"Can you tell me what are Demons?"

The professor was shocked to see Rei's right eye, it was the same as before, a sharp full white eye that was surrounded by a dark aura. But the professor kept her cool, trying not to be fazed by what she was seeing, she answered with a unfazed voice, but her legs were nervously shaking.

Rylee noticed it as he felt a heavy presence which occupied the room, only the two were able to sense it the others did not notice any change in their atmosphere.

"The Demons are beings which caused havoc across the earth according to the history books available in this place, they were said to be creatures who had a strong connection to the earths core. Their body is as strong as stone but can be damaged by the Star, but those Demons have a core which creates their own gravitational field that allows them to piece themselves back together, you may damage them however you please as they don't feel pain, nor do they need to eat for survival as long as their core is within them they will survive for about ten times our life span"

"Is that so?"

Rei's eye returned to normal as he laid down and went to sleep as his question was already answered, but the professors body wouldn't stop shaking, it was at that time Rylee walked to her and asked if she was feeling alright.

She nodded a yes and was waiting for them to to ask another question, Rylee sat beside her and observed her and all his subordinates but had more focus on Rei was fast asleep. Minutes had passed yet no one asked another question, the professor knew she had to leave the room she felt her stomach turn on what she saw.

"If you have no further questions then I shall take my leave, I will allow you to enter The Great Library which contains the history of the world"

As she got out she walked straight to a restroom where she vomited, she then washed her face at the sink but could not forget the terrifying sight she had experienced that closing her eyes for a matter of seconds reminded her of that eye.

As she walked out of the restroom a concerned Rylee was waiting for her.

"It was horrifying was it?"

"Yeah, those eyes somehow resemble the ones from the history book. A demon who caused all the chaos, a black humanoid figure with large black horns, ginormous wings and sharp white eyes, it was so horrifying that even our ancestor could not bare to look at it for even a minute"

"Do you think you can get something from that kid? like clue on how to easily wipe out those Demons?"

"We already have that kind of weapon remember?"

"But using that can also end the world, we need a weapon that is a little bit weaker than that and I think that kid could be our answer"

"I can't just do that, I need approval from the Directors to do such an experiment and more evidence that can prove that he has some connection to those things"

She explained to the commander whom agreed with her explanation.

"But then again I saw a footage from a security camera which caught the whole incident between Kurt and that new kid of yours"

The professor said as they walked towards the monitoring room they went to earlier. As they arrived they immediately viewed the footage form the security camera and there they saw a power that their ancestors were unaware about.

On the footage were Rei was about to be slashed by Star: Vega a glitch happened to the Star, the adjusted it so that they can see what happened. But what they saw left them transfixed, they slowed it down and saw it, Rei somehow managed to destroy Vega and and recreate it with a snap of a finger.

"What the hell was that??"

Rylee said, he turned his eyes to Misty who was too stunned to even speak a word. To be able to break a Star is something that was never even mentioned once in their history books, what was mostly written there was: Unusable or broken. Misty repeated it again for five times but was still stunned to what happened that her brain could not explain what caused something like that to happen.

She then made a call to the central and asked one specific person to come to the monitoring room, the person arrived after a few minutes of being called.

"Oh My, why would the high and mighty summon me to the monitoring room *sigh*"

He said as he entered but suddenly got serious as he saw the stunned face of both the strongest commander and the head of the laboratory. He walked closer to them when Misty pointed her finger at the monitor and played it, the man watched closely to what baffled the two well-known people.

His eyes widened to what he saw, he was also speechless, he walked back and sat on the floor with his back against the wall, he placed his hand above his head and looked down.

"What the hell is that thing? how could you shatter something into smithereens and then recreate it within 0.37 sec, not even the ancestors had that ability, hey, don't you think that guy has a connection to Star: Sirius?"

Both the professor and commander looked at the person who was behind them.

"Connected to Sirius? but how the only person ever had an encounter was Pro-"

She realized something before she could finish her sentence, only one person had an encounter with the strongest Star known as Sirius. The Professor who disappeared 12 years ago after creating 20 of the special Stars, the same professor who taught Misty what she knows about the world.

"Don't tell me Professor Charles Fritz is connected to this?"

Rylee said. Misty immediately made her move and looked once again for the files of Professor Charles which was sealed for a long time, as she opened it a password was requested.

"I can't open this here or it will be sent to every person in this facility, we must go to my office"

Misty said as the three of them quickly made their move to her office, as they entered Misty immediately opened the files of Professor Charles and wrote "Sirius" as a password which was accepted dozens and dozens of data that was hidden from them was now in front of them.
