Chapter 42

RAE KELLER

I plastered a smile on my face as I stared at the three people standing in front of me.

When I would rather be in my room sulking and crying and planning elaborate shit to get my daughter out of the orphanage home. I would also be sitting, curved around the box I had kept way under the bed, counting all the money I had gathered and checking to see if it was enough to buy a house, a car, get my daughter out of the fucking orphanage and enroll her in a good school.
