Persistence

Ryan didn't speak anything for a while. His reddened eyes were boring hers. He looked like she had just made him angrier. So Rhea had to wait for him to come around and speak the next words. 

Finally, he spoke. 

"Are you that persistent to leave?" 

The question hid slight anger and despair it seemed. But Rhea took in the anger only.

She didn't think twice before answering, "I am."

Ryan seemed startled at her answer. So Rhea had to continue. "I want to leave and I don't want you to do anything to stop me from leaving. If you have the slightest respect for me, let me go," at last she said it. She told him what she had in her mind. She wanted to leave and that was all he needed to know. There was no need for him to know the reason. He doesn't need to know how much she missed the weekends of their past. There's no way she is telling him how much she missed him.
