14- Roasting a Chicken and True Despair.

The day after once school had ended Rias, her peerage and Ryuuto were all waiting inside the ORC for Grayfia, Rias' brother's wife, and Riser.

While waiting for their guests Rias and Ryuuto were chatting with Ddraig about how to better utilize the Boosted Gear and what to do to unlock the Balance Breaker while Koneko was eating her cookies, Gasper was playing with a console inside his box and Kiba was busy attending to the weapons made by Hephaestus the day before, while she was crafting them she had taught him how to repair them and maintain them in a perfect state.

Soon after 2 magic circles appeared, one silver one with the Gremory family symbol at the center and the other made out of orange flames with the Phenex clan symbol in the center, out of those two came a silver haired woman dressed as a maid and a blonde man dressed in red pants and a red coat with a white shirt underneath it.

"The human world is still filthy no matter how many times I come here., the only good thing here is you my dear Rias."

As soon as Ryuuto saw Riser appear from the portal he had the sudden urge to punch him in the face and that feeling grew stronger the more he spoke.

"Would you shut up you fried chicken?! Your voice is so irritating!"

"Who the fuck do you think you are human?! To have the courage to talk to me like that! I'll burn you to a crisp!"

Ryuuto wrote to Rias in a private chat they opened just a little bit earlier.

"Calm down Riser-sama, we're here to talk about your engagement not to fight, and who might you be Mister...?"

"Ah, where are my manners? My name is Ryuuto Azusagawa, Rias' B-o-y-f-r-i-e-n-d, and you are Miss…?"

"I am Gray-"

Before she could answer him Grayfia got interrupted by Riser's scream.

"YOU LITTLE INSECT! I'LL KILL YOU IN THE MOST PAINFUL WAY IMAGINABLE!"

Just as Riser was about to attack Ryuuto with fire magic his magic circles got destroyed by Grayfia's magic.

"As I already said Riser-sama, we're not here to fight, and please Ryuuto-sama stop instigating him."

"As you wish Grayfia."

"Now that we all calmed down, what did you want to talk about Rias?"

"Riser I challenge you to a rating game, if I win we'll break the engagement, if you win I'll marry you and give you the Boosted Gear, and no matter the winner we'll move the marriage day to the day after the rating game."

To demonstrate that she actually had it Rias manifested the Boosted Gear on her left arm, this greatly shocked both Grayfia and Riser that couldn't understand how she got a Sacred Gear and a Longinus none the less.

"How did you get that?!"

"That doesn't matter, just know that I can safely transfer it to you if you win."

Riser, thinking he could easily defeat anyone he went against, easily accepted confident that he would get one of the strongest Sacred Gears while also marrying Rias.

"I accept, who will I fight?"

"Me."

Instead of Rias the one who answered was Ryuuto, startling both Grayfia and Riser since they thought that Rias herself would fight against Riser.

"HAHAHAHAHAHA! So you really have a death wish, fine! I'll entertain you before killing. Notify me of the date of the rating game, I'll get back to the underworld, this place stinks."

"Are you really sure about this Ryuuto-sama? Riser-sama is a high class devil."

"Don't worry Grayfia-san, when can we have the rating game? I'd like it to be as soon as possible."

"It should be possible to have it tomorrow at this hour, it that okay with you?"

"Yes."

"Then I'll be going back to the underworld to organize it."

"Thank you Grayfia-san for your hard work."

Soon after Grayfia went back using her magic circle.

"To think that I'll marry you in two days, I'm so happy!"

Ryuuto said this trying to tease Rias but the only thing happening was her blushing madly while looking away from him.

"Ara ara~ You're quite confident, aren't you Ryuuto? Take good care of Rias for us okay?"

"You can count on it Akeno."

Soon after their little chat Ryuuto left to go stroll around town while thinking about what to do during his rating game against Riser.

'What warframe should I use? maybe Trinity to see if her healing counts as holy magic... or maybe valkyr and slash him apart again and again or I could impale him with Garuda's blood altar... So many ideas and so little arrogant idiots to use them...'

This were the kinds of thought inside his head while he was strolling around looking for anything that could catch his attention either for himself or as a gift for his loved ones.

Soon an entire day passed and it was almost time for the rating game, while Ryuuto was relaxing in the ORC Grayfia appeared from her typical magic circle.

"Good afternoon Ryuuto-sama, are you ready? The rating game is about to start."

"Good afternoon to you Grayfia-san, yes I'm ready, teleport me whenever you want."

"Understood, then I'll start the procedure now, good luck Ryuuto-sama."

"Thanks Grayfia but Riser'll need it much more than me."

As soon as Ryuuto finished speaking he got teleported to an exact replica of Kuoh's highschool.

"The rating game that is about to begin is for Rias Gremory's engagement. Should Riser Phenex win he will marry Rias and obtain the Boosted Gear. Should his opponent Ryuuto Azusagawa win he will get Rias' hand in marriage. The ruleset is the standard one, to win the enemy king must either say 'I give up' or be forced to retire, each king will also get one Phoenix tear. Do you both understand?"

Grayfia spoke from the student council room that was currently being used a monitor room, hearing both kings say that they understood Grayfia continued with the announcement.

"Then the rating game will start in 30, use this time wisely."

Just before the rating game started Ryuuto got a mission from his system.

Meanwhile in the control room.

"Rias, are you really going to marry whoever wins this?"

Sona asked Rias, she knew that Ryuuto was strong but Riser was a high class devil and had never lost one rating game, not to mention his regenerative powers as a Phenex.

"Yes, I will."

"Are you really sure Ryuuto can win?"

"Yes, I trust him with all myself."

"When did you realize?"

Sona was obviously asking here when she realized that she fell in love with Ryuuto.

"The first night he slept in my room, before that, probably because of everything going on, I never realized that whenever I'm with him my heart start beating faster and it gets a little harder to breathe but as soon as I had a moment to relax I was able to realize all this and I'm pretty sure he also noticed that I realized it."

"Good for you then Rias, now we should concentrate, it's about to start."

At Sona's sentence Rias nodded her head while thinking.

'Go beat his ass Darling.'

With Riser.

"The rating game will now start."

As soon as he heard Grayfia's words Riser started giving out orders.

"All of you go and bring me the kid, I want to kill him myself!"

Hearing their kings orders all of his peerage, except his younger sister Ravel, went outside his base and went straight towards Ryuuto's location.

While going there they chatted among themselves about how this kid was an idiot for angering their king and that he would die a painful death.

Once they reached the outdoor gym they saw their opponent with a strange armor on him and soon heard his voice.

"5 seconds."

"Huh? What is this kid talking about? Did he go crazy because of fear?"

Yubelluna, the peerage Queen started wondering what Ryuuto meant with '5 seconds'.

"That's the amount of time it'll take to force you all to retire, if you start running now that is."

As soon as they heard that they all started laughing at him taking him for a fool who overestimated himself.

"5"

As soon as that single word came out of his helmet covered mouth they saw golden talons come out of his hands and soon after he released a chilling war cry that made them all have cold sweat for some reason, just as his war cry ended they all heard Ni and Li screaming in agonizing pain and soon after they heard Grayfia's voice.

"Two of Riser-sama' pawns have been retired"

'Valkyr Prime was definitely the best choice I can make them feel despair and at the same time not have to worry about anything. Now let's get back to hunting, I always uphold my words.'

Just after that once again pain filled screams resounded soon followed by Grayfia's announcement that other pieces of Riser's peerage got retired.

As Ryuuto continued to count down more and more pieces got retire until the last one remaining was Yubelluna who was barely standing.

" And 0"

"You really did all that in just 5 seconds, didn't you? You monster."

"I remember someone once said 'And if I become a demon, so be it... I'll endure the exile... Anything... To protect her.' and I fully agree with him, if it's for her I'll do anything, even become a monster. Now, goodbye."

As Ryuuto finished speaking he hit one more time Yubelluna forcing her to retire.

Inside the student council room.

Once Rias heard what Ryuuto told to Yubelluna she started to cry from happiness realizing exactly how much Ryuuto loved her.

While Sona was hugging her with one arm to calm her down a little Akeno spoke.

"You really are lucky Rias, you know that, to get someone that loves you so much, I'm kind of jealous now."

"I know Akeno, I know."

In between sobs Rias answered Akeno while thinking.

'I love you too Darling!'

Back with Ryuuto.

"Riser! Come out of wherever you're hiding you coward!"

Just as he predicted Riser came towards him while fuming for being called a coward.

"Who are you calling a coward, you insect?!"

"Aah, you're so easy to read, anyway you better stay out of this little girl, I don't like to traumatize innocent bystanders, what I'm about to do isn't something a little kid should see."

Looking at her big brother to know what to do Ravel saw him nod, thinking that he didn't need help to kill Ryuuto.

"Riser-sama's last bishop has been retired."

'Finally let's show this arrogant asshole who the insect really is.'

Rapidly switching to Garuda Ryuuto summoned her blood altar with Riser as the target and then switched back to Valkyr Prime.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!! WHAT THE HELL IS THIS THING?!?!"

What came out of Riser's mouth was probably the most painful and agonizing scream anyone in the monitor room heard, and Grayfia had been in multiple wars.

"That, my dear Riser, is a blood altar, it will slowly suck out everything from you while replenishing my strength, not that it took any to make your peerage retire."

Once Riser heard what Ryuuto said he wanted to get off that thing but unfortunately due to all the pain his body was feeling it wasn't responding to him.

Just as he thought this couldn't get worse Riser saw Ryuuto stab him with his talons and the pain he was feeling increased once again, because of Riser's Phenex regeneration this kept coming till he was almost out of mana.

"Aah...Aah... Finally... it's over..."

"Do you really think it's over yet? Didn't you forget something?"

At that moment Riser remember what only his family could produce, The Phoenix tears.

"No...Nonononono! PLEASE! I'll do anything just stop this!"

"No, I don't think I will."

And that way Riser kept being tortured till Ryuuto finished both Phoenix tears and Riser's body was about to collapse.

"Riser Phenex... Has been retired. Ryuuto Azusagawa is the winner."

Even Grayfia's voice was slightly shaking due to what she had just seen, the only one not affected by what they had just seen was Rias.
