The Advice Column (First and Second Point of View Piece)

Hello. What brings you here? In all of time you have been alive, you have not given much thought to a lot of things. And, you have not taken a moment to stop and just...be. Be still, calm, and steady. In the world we know as wicked and a racket, that is more than understandable. An easy answer as to why relaxation is almost nonexistent. That's a problem, a big one.

Now, as I sip on my green non-caffeinated tea at 8pm at night, I am here to tell you that I am no expert. I am not telling you fact after fact. We all endure different challenges and we may not be able to take in what others can. But, at the end of the day, we are all human. God made us imperfect, and therefore, we are going to make a bunch of mistakes that either help or hurt us. So all of that having been said, listen to me when I say; life is more than just living.

If you're confused, it's fine. I'm surprised myself, but the wording fits like a glove. There are big events, small events, traumatic events, and so on and so forth. The eye-catching moments suck out attention in and lets us go by choice. It can be fun, or scary, or sad, or just crazy. However, that's not all that life is. God, as He always does, teaches wonderfully. Materialism is shallow. Yes, that is nothing new, you've heard this before. But, what direction are you heading in? Are you relying on the next fun moment to define your life? Think about it.

It's one thing to have a good time. It's another to fill an empty hole by distracting yourself with other activities. Substance. That's what matters. That's all that's going to matter. God has that substance we need. I mean, He did create us for His glory after all. To reflect Him. In remembering this, that's more than enough to understand why we are all a part of something bigger. Distinct, living creatures roaming the earth to coexist amongst each other to set off generation after generation. Who can swim, speak, dance, cook, clean, and read. Who can spread kindness as effectively as they can spread cruelty. At this point, there's no question we that a purpose has been set.

Now, you can believe what you want. I won't force you, nor do I want to. But, just take the time to consider. If we all took the same love and care to listen to each other and ourselves. If we stopped, sat down, and let our thoughts soar freely. Maybe, we could discover what we failed to see before. Maybe, we would let Him direct us closer, not farther.
