Chapter Eleven

"This is unacceptable, we must do something. This should never have happened to my daughter." Debria said as she paced back and forth in the office.

"As much as it pains me to say it we cannot."

"How can you say that? She is your granddaughter!"

"You know very well what the treaty states. The glory forest is the only piece of sanctioned land that still functions like the feudal era. If a potential mate submits to the stronger demon they are within their right to claim her. We cannot kill this demon."

"But she is human! I tried to put a calm front when I faced her. But I wanted nothing more than to purify the despicable demon that did this to her. My baby…" she wiped the corner of her eyes and stared at him.

Travios sighed. He rubbed his face and placed his hand over his mouth. "Who is the demon that committed the act?"

"I don't know, she wouldn't tell me." she continued to pace around the office. "Why wouldn't she tell me?" she whispered the last part.

"Whoever it is must be powerful enough to withstand her purification he must be a Tai demon. Rina's pure energy is unmatched, you must tread lightly if you plan to discover this demon."

-3 ½ months later-

Rina rubbed her swollen belly as she gazed out the window. Anyone that set their eyes on her would think she was at least six months pregnant. When her doctor asked her how far along in her pregnancy she was. She lied and told the doctor she didn't know, her pregnancy was moving much quicker than any normal human pregnancy.

She thought of what happened a few days earlier.

As Rina and her mother went home from her first check up, they stopped by a baby shop. Debria, knowing full well what her daughter wanted, pulled out a credit and handed it to Rina before she could say anything.

"Mom…why does this credit card have my name on it?".

"Because dear when you were born, your father and I always put away money for you. I once thought it could be for your college funds, but everything changed. You may be the heiress but we never spoiled you. We set everything aside for when you would decide to move out." Debria said. Unshed tears glistened in her eyes while Rina burst into tears and she hugged her mother.

"Sorry about that I get all emotional from the pregnancy." Rina laughed it off before quickly changing the subject.

All natural colors were purchased since the sex of the baby was unknown. Rina didn't want to know the gender she wanted it to be a surprise.

"I think it's a boy, what about you? Rina asked as she lovingly rubbed her swollen belly. Her thoughts ran wild.

The father of her child was clueless to her pregnancy. He made no attempt to contact her. His pride alone would have never let this occur and not try to approach her in some way. Rinas eyes drooped down to her belly again. She still didn't know what to think of the situation.

She couldn't judge Damien, it wasn't his fault but his beast. She felt awful that he didn't know his heir was due to come into the world in a few months. A shudder went through her as memories of their encounter came forth. They became more intense with each passing day. Her body ached for the touch of the father of her unborn child. She grimaced at the thought, these weren't normal about the way she felt.

Her fingers grazed the light mark on her neck. This was the main reason her body rattled with unresolved tension. It craved the touch of its mate, craved to be completed. A demon mating mark was a two way street. Both individuals needed to mark the other. Blue aura engulfed her fingers and spread over the mark, the tension finally had vanished.

Her mother gave her a thoughtful look for a moment before she answered, snapping Rina from her thoughts.

"I would like it to be a girl so we can play dress up with her but…I also think it's going to be a boy, Kacien is going to be happy about that."

It was almost a month later, winter had come early this year. It was snowing outside as Rina stared out the window drinking hot tea. Rina sighed as warmth spread through her body. Surprisingly enough the only thing Rina thought about was her unborn child and nothing of her past. She rubbed her hands on her round stomach.

"Guess you're going to be a winter baby after all." Rina whispered.

Her smile soon turned into a frown. Since morning, uncomfortable aches pressed though her lower region. Now it was past noon. Again she frowned at this, she knew the baby would come soon but she still wasn't sure when exactly it would happen.

A sharp pain shot through her tiny form forcing her to drop the tea cup. It shattered on the wood floor.

"Rina are you ok-" Kacien quickly ran over to his sister, seeing her bent over in pain.

"Rina you okay?!" His frantic voice cut through the haze.

"Get mom." she whispered.

"Mom something's wrong with Rina!"

Rushed footsteps approached them. "Kacien go get Rina's Hospital bag now meet us in the car!"
