Chapter Fifty Seven

The memory of her last conversation with her mother in-law comforted her to know she cared enough to warn her. But it unsettled her as well, it was similar to Tomas's words when she was trying on the dresses Damien had ordered to their home.

"You need to show strength, it is undeniable you have it. But your humanity will encourage the snakes to slither out. Many still believe in the purity of a union. They do not believe in a bond between humans and demons."

"This is something that can't be changed nor do I care what they think." Rina said.

Rina watched Nathaniel run around the small open area of the white garden. He continued to swing his arm in attempts to form the small energy whip he managed a few minutes earlier.

"And let that exude from every pore in your being when you are presented to the world. Let them know you are not one to be trifled with. No one would dare speak out against the Lord, but they will look for weakness in you."
