The bad guy controls the story

Mira's POV

After I met meags and marcel and they agreed to share their food, Marcel also took all of us back to his hide out and he showed us around. We ended in the lounge where he had comfy leather couches and side chairs and a Smart Samsung television and a small coffee table in the center of it all.

"So, what's your big plan on bringing an end to this nightmare?" Marcel asked while crouching down next to me as I'm checking through the pages that Blake handed to me, but they weren't the pages that we looked at before.

"Blake, what is this?" I asked in worried tones.

He snatched the pages out of my hands and looked at them with a confused expression, "I don't know. I was sure that I tore the right pages out of the book."

"First off, obviously you didn't," Meags started. "And secondly, how dare you tear pages out of a book? Heathen!"

"This doesn't make sense." Blake muttered under his breath.

"I knew it!" Boomed Gerhards voice from behind me. "You've never wanted us to end this, cause you're apart of it, arent you?"

Blake walked until he stood right in front of me and argued with gerhard over my head.

"That's obserd!"

"Okay both of you keep quiet! This isnt going to help anyone. I say we go back to the library right now to get the proper page and then we can continue the plan."

"Which we havent heard of, by the way." Meags stated while moving her finger between Marcel and herself.

I turned to her and held up my hand: "Which I will explain when we have the page. I say we go now before it gets too late."

"Okay, then let's go." Damian said as he got up from the couch and started walking to the door.

***

We got to the library just after sunset. so it was dark but the streets were empty. There was a heavy winters breeze with storm clouds up above that looks like they were going to empty their water load onto of us at any moment.

As we got to the doors of the library, all of the hairs on my body stood up.

Something wasn't right.

I turned to the others and put my finger against my lips in order to silently tell them to keep quiet. I pushed open the front door as quietly as I could and made a downward motion with the palm of my hand through the air to tell the others to get low. We snuck in and stopped at a doorway leading to the bookcases so that I could get a better view of the library.

There was nothing out of the usual. It was quiet, just as a library should be, but I knew something was still off. I waited a few moments longer and that's when it happened. Books flew from one side of the library to the other. one after the other.

'French Revolution' ; 'African history' ; 'Greeks and Roman mythology'.

I suddenly knew exactly what she was searching for.

The book on Egyptian artifacts.

I turned to the rest of the group behind me and made a hand gesture to indicate that we were sneaking to the opposite side of the library from where the books were being thrown from. We successfully snuck around the corner and made our way through the shelves of books to the place where we were sitting earlier on that same day and looking through the book of ancient egyptian artifacts. we were crouching and moving fast and as we went past an opening between the shelves, we found ourselves right next to a Shredder.

He opened his mouth to send out an ear piercing scream to call whoever threw the books but Blake slammed its head in with a thick heavy book of encyclopedia before he was able to, but in the end it still made a small whimpering sound that echoed through the quiet book store.

"Get to the book." I whispered to the rest of them and we started running through the book cases.

Just as we see the book on one of the desks I get my hopes up, but that quickly died as we were cut off by not 1, but 3 shredders who stopped us dead in our tracks.

"Now, now." Came a bone freezing female voice from behind us.

"What's the hurry?" it asked. We all turned around slowly to find a beautiful women that was dressed in a dark purple dress with a gold stripe of mastering encircling the bottom of it. Her hair was as black as death itself and her skins was tanned that went nicely with her light green eyes. She walked towards us slowly and each step she took was another shiver down my spine.

"I take it from looks on each of your faces that you know who I am." She said in a flattered voice.

I nodded my head while the others stood in feer.

"Great so we can skip the boring introductions then. I'm after a book. A book of which I'm apart of. Have you heard of it?"

"Yes, we have." Blake replied to the goddess and we looked back at him in shock.

"You're an adult? The last adult alive. You are the reason why I don't have my full power back yet." She clicked her fingers and suddenly a Shredder formed from thin air beside the goddess and pushed past us to grab hold of Blake and as they made contact, they both disappeared as quickly as the Shredder had arrived.

"Now where is that book?" She asked once again with a slight hint of irritation in her voice.

One of the Shredders behind us made a soft groan sound which caused the goddess to smile and float towards them. They parted to show her the book that was laying fully open on a sparkling, clean marble table top.

She sighed in content and whispered -muneataf 'aw dawr- which resulted in the pages turning violently by themselves and it stopped on the page that held the information about the jar.

"Finally," she held the nage between her fingers and examined the ink and symbols on the page. "Finally, I shall be free forever." She tore out the page and turned to us with a large grin on her face and held it up for us to see. She crunched in in her hand and threw it towards Damian but as soon as the wrinkled paper touched his palm it disintegrated, leaving nothing but a tiny pile of dirt at his feet.

"For the first time in human history, the bad guy controls the story." She gave a small bow then dissapeared along with her minions and left us without a plan, without Blake and without hope.

But what she did leave us was an idea of what we are up against and that gave us the upper hand.

I turned to the others and they looked shocked and clean out of ideas but I gave them a smile.

"Why are you smiling?" Meags asked in confusion and Marcel looked just as confused, whereas Damian and Gerhard smiled along with me.

"That, princess, is her "I've got a plan" smile and yet it still escapes me as to what kind of plan she may have." Gerhard said and pressed his hands against the table with his head down.

"Oh, I think I have an idea of what she is planning." He walked to the table where the Egyptian artifact encyclopedia was laying and the rest followed.

"Great minds think alike, hand me the book." I said to Damian. He handed it to me and I start flipping through it while the others loom over my shoulder.

"What are we looking for?" Marcel asked.

"Well this book has more than one artifact in it, so there has to be a slight essence of a backup plan in these pages and I'm going to find it-" Suddenly my hand stopped when I came to a page that held the heading, in bold black ink

'The Brooch of time'

"Ah-ha!" I said and Gerhard took it from me without haste and began to read to himself.

"It helps you travel back in time." He said after a short while. Meags snatched it out of his hands and showed marcel what it looks like and he took it from Meags and placed it back on the table to examine it.

"Isn't this you-"

"-My great grandfathers, yes." Marcel said.

"Your great grandfather had this exact brooch?"I asked

"Yes. He was an archeologist situated in Egypt. He helped find out what happened to the ancients of egypt and why their bodies havent been found but after 39 years of searching, he didnt just find out where one of the ancients had died but he found an entirely unmarked burial ground the ancients in France and brought them home. He was rewarded by the Egyptian King at the time who gave him a brooch. It was the shape of an elegant black water lilly with powers, but he never knew what powers it possessed and so he never experimented. He died with it."

"Do you know where it is now?" I asked.

Marcel nodded.

"Good, cause we are going to need it. I have a plan to trap this goddess for the rest of her life. We are going to go back in time to when the jar was made."

"That's a great idea," Gerhard said while examining the writing on the page. "Except only the person who possesses the brooch can use it."

"Or someone of the same family blood." I pointed out and looked at Marcel with a smile."

"I suppose we can give it a shot." He replied confidently.

"But first we have to dig up the grave of a dead relative." He said with a bland expression.
