Successor

"So you heard this girl, a water elf, calling for help at the bottom of a cliff and jumped in rough water to save her. Then you both were swept up by a whirlpool and woke up in our water pool?"

"Exactly"

"What an interesting story, seems more fake than true…" The powerful and deep voice of the elder basilisk said.

Raising its body as he took about thirty minutes to properly explain things, Kameron wondered how it would go as the elder began pondering.

"What do you wish to achieve by uniting the forest?"

"A place accepted and accessible to all, also one where your race doesn't need to fight for supremacy and lose many of its members every year."

"Why would I agree to that when you and every other beast family is weaker than me?" The elder asked, his eyes casting a stranglehold onto Kameron as he continued.

"I could easily go and conquer this forest and the village you come from, then this conversation would be unnecessary, I reached this level through struggle and sacrifice, why would I become the other beast family's equal when I could easily become the king of all three?"

Unsure what to say, Kameron didn't respond immediately. He wondered how he could turn this in his favor but he doubted empty promises from someone 2 tiers under them would move them, nor would some promise to the future like some other shows or stories would try.

Just then, as the elder again began to speaking with Kameron lost in thought, the world began to quickly take a gray tone as time slowed to a dead stop

At the same time a large summoning circle appeared under Kameron's feet as he was shocked and curious about what was going on as the circle lit up and he disappeared.

..

.

Standing within a magnificent space surrounded by swirling galaxies and a beautiful expanse of space, Kameron stood before a figure that sat within a black and golden chair that seemingly looked like a lounging chair from Earth.

Looking closer at the figure as they sat comfortably within the seat, kameron quickly glanced over himself, finding his body floating on nothing while feeling he was stepping on a solid floor./

"My My My… My young successor has become a Taboo existence in such a short time…" The voice said, sounding both male and female to Kameron as their figure and look remained indescribable and everchanging.

"What do you mean?" Kameron asked in response, "Successor? Did you reincarnate me?"

"Precisely. As for why I called you my successor, it's because that is what I am waiting for you to grow into."

"And who are you?"

"Someone outside the laws of existence and the current multiversal order, a Taboo existence shunned by the gods that watch over the current multiversal order."

"And… I becoming a Taboo existence is something you were hoping for." Kameron said, his gaze calculating as he thought about what this meeting meant.

"It means that you are one step closer to becoming my true successor!" The voice said happily as their form began to solidify into a middle-aged man with a grey beard and unblemished skin, his voice becoming deep and wise as they continued. "You still have long to go, young man."

"What is even your name? And why me?" Kameron retorted feeling confused as why he of all people were truly chosen for this.

"My name? If you even tried to pronounce it then you'd be marked by the universe upon your return and hunted down by their guardians, but as you are outside of their control you can say it freely. My name is Einlion but you may call me Ein.

"I see…"

"Ahh yes, your other question. I chose you because of how interesting you were despite the unfortunate event you found yourself in when you died alongside that girl. You continued to fight even in the face of death and while you were too weak to conquer death that time I used by power to give you another chance to defy it, albeit for a favor."

"So you reincarnated me and gave me the system, might I ask if the favor is building a kingdom?"

"Building a kingdom is only half of it, you see. Those gods would eventually notice you were my successor when you were powerful enough and most time, if you were on your own, you'd lose. What you need are powerful allies to depend on when the time comes unless you possess power far greater than that of your enemies."

"Is that why Ina said she'd support me if I made the goal a kingdom in space?"

"Yes and No, Ina as you call her, is simply there to give you aid as you manifest new desires and work to achieve even greater goals The first part of the favor is to create a faction strong enough to contend against those abhorrent gods..

"Obviously, Even if you only wanted a small kingdom on that continent then Ina would help you achieve it but as your existence becomes more powerful the flow of fate around you also grows, forcing you to adapt or perish, though it would be hard to kill you either way.

"The other part of the favor is simple, break the current order set by the gods," Ein said with a smirk, seemingly like a devil in human skin.

"Now, I can't pause the flow of time around your last location for too long or the gods will notice. I have to send you back but before that, I want to leave you with something." He spoke as his hand shined and a golden fruit seemingly like an apple was created.

"This is a portion of my power, while it is merely 0.00000000001 percent of it, it should push you straight to tier 3 upon your return. From then on it is up to you to reach this place again. Within your body I also placed a power that will unlock the ability to visit this place once you become a god. " Ein said as a magic circle manifested under Kameron's feet, the fruit Ein held before appearing before Kameron as the circle flashed and cut off Kameron's response.

"Find you're other half! She's waiting for you!" Ein said as Kameron disappeared into motes of light.

"A successor and ally against these gods… hopefully he reaches that point…"

..

.

Looking at elder basilisk again, Kameron was stunned as the world regained color, Ina snapping him out of his reprieve as she asked, (What's that fruit you're holding?)

"Boy? What are you holding?" The elder asked as he gazed at the random fruit pulsating with power that appeared suddenly in Kameron's hand.

"My gift?" Kameron said as he quickly took a bite, his levels instantly skyrocketing as a shocking amount of exp appeared by his name.

(Where did you get that?!) Ina shouted as Kameron closed his eyes, the power emanating from him forming another red crystal cocoon as the previous evolution.

+1,728,361,273 exp

Level + 83

"Damn brat!" The elder said, his body crossing the distance between them and slamming against the crystal, the floor becoming a crater as the scales around the impact area cracked.

"No!" The elder shouted, his rage evident as a youngster he just met jumped from a measly pest sneaking through the water hole to his domineering level in a fraction of a second, his feelings of achieving the forest's throne through hard work and effort nullified by some weird fruit.

Continuing in his blind rage, the elder continued slamming his body into the Crystal, it remained unmoving as a black lightning shot up, originating from the crystal and piercing the ceiling above, at the same time though, a similar situation was happening within the capital city.

(Unsure exactly how I wanted to continue this, atp I want to focus less on the play by play of every encounter and work on progressing the story quickly while still having explanation and development for characters and events making sense from start to finish.)
