Creating a confusion

Joseph glanced through the camera and look through the photos. He feels satisfied after seeing the faces of the politicians appeared crystal clear in the photo.

He smiled and said, "Thank you, Minah"

"We are just helping each other, you are welcome," she said warmly.

Joseph sighed as he stuffed his belongings into his bag. He walks toward the cafe, grabbed a sandwich, and takes a bite. "Let's go to the convention centre. I have already applied for a journalist pass online. I should be able to attend the conference."

Minah looked at him, smirking, "I do not think Sarah will go to the convention centre"

Joseph looked up at Sarah and says, "I thought of an idea"

Two women walk passes him, stared at him, wondering who is he talking to. Joseph pointed at the wireless BlueTooth device that plugged into his left ear, hinting to them he is having a conversation on the phone.

He chuckled and says, "I knew people will look at me as if I'm one crazy man having a conversation with myself. So I have to use this method to make myself look like a normal"

Joseph says, "Let's go to the convention centre for the conference."

Joseph rushes into the taxi stand, grabs a cab, and travelling towards the convention centre.

As they arrived, he took his pass and gave it to the administrator of the convention centre. After verifying this identity, he took the journalist tag to wear it around his neck.

Limousines with flags are in queues outside the convention centre, the limousine drivers slowly driving the car coming in toward the entrance to drop the VIPs. Camera lights flash towards the politician at the entrance.

Minah calls Joseph. He doesn't respond at first, but he raises his hand. He is looking around.

He noticed a group of Chinese journalists; he walks toward them.

He took his name card out from the wallet, Minah looked, wondering what is he up to as she sees the manager and Joseph are exchanging name cards.

Joseph glances down at the business card in his hand. His name is Eric Huang, and he works for the National Herard of China.

Joseph asked Eric, "Can you speak English?"

Eric says, "Yes. How I can help you?

Joseph says, "I would like to discuss with you something. How about we become an acquaintance to each other?"

Eric raised his eyebrows, "There is a cafe nearby, we could go there to discuss."

Joseph and Eric walk toward a cafe. Minah follows. While Eric is sitting on the chair outside the cafe, Joseph is buying coffees.

Minah twirling on Joseph's jacket and asked, "Why are we here?"

Joseph muttered softly, "I have a plan, just trust me, don't make anyone look at me as if I am a retard."

Minah stops talking. She keeps her faith in him; she follows Joseph quietly.

Joseph grabbed a tray of coffee from the barista. He walks toward Eric. He put the tray on the table and gave Eric a cup of coffee.

Eric politely grabbed the coffee from Eric, "Oh thank you!"

Joseph looks around, the cafe seems quiet, and seeing nobody is walking around the area, "I heard about you. You are the legendary journalist that exposes many scandals"

Eric chuckled, "You and I have travelled miles away here, you can't be just saying hello? Let's get straight to the point"

Joseph plucks up his courage and says, "I would like to sell you an information."

Eric stared at him seriously and asked, "What kind of information?"

Joseph took the camera out from his messenger bag, he flipped through the photos in his camera show the video of Gavin and Sarah to Eric.

Eric took the camera and looked at the video.

Joseph says, "He is an ambassador, and the girl next to him is a Hallyu star from South Korea"

Eric gave him a look he didn't understand. It took a moment for him to mull over.

Eric took out his phone, dial a number to call someone, and speak to someone in Chinese.

Joseph looks around, sees confusion in Minah. He grins.

As soon as Eric hung up the phone, Eric says, "How much do you want to sell me this information?"

Joseph did not know how much to ask for. He smiled and says, "How about just pay for my expenses like flight, and hotel?" He took out the bills from his messenger bag and showed them to Eric.

Eric looked through the bills. He checked on the amount showed on the bills.

Eric chuckled and says, "It's ok. I will give you the cash shortly. I was expecting you to ask for more"

Joseph explained, "If I am going to expose this, they might hire thugs to beat me up. This news is just a portion of it. I have to investigate further to find out more about this and when I found more solid evidence, I will contact you again and by then, I would ask for more" Joseph smiled.

Minah stared at Joseph in surprise. It impressed her he actually can speak English fluently. She agrees with his idea about a collaboration with the Chinese journalist, considering that The Red Curtain can afford to spend a fortune to remove the news from the media.

Eric took out American dollar notes from his wallet, and gave them to Joseph, "Here you go, there should be more than enough. You can spend them here for meals"

Joseph grabbed his camera and send the video to Eric on his email.

Eric look at his phone, acknowledged that he received the video, but he noticed a few more photos, "What are these photos?"

Joseph says, "They are the politician. Here to attend the conference. Can you see the girls that escorting them? They are also actresses."

Eric chuckled, he stood up and shakes his hand with Joseph, "Thank you, I hope to hear more from you soon. You have my contact. Please do contact me when you want to sell me more information"

Joseph stood up and walks back to the taxi stand. He grabs a cab and requested the cab driver to take him to the Royal hotel.

On the backseat, Minah stared at him, Joseph pointed his finger at the cab driver, hinting to Minah that he does not want to speak. The cab driver might think he is insane.

When they arrived at the entrance of the Royal Hotel, he gave some cash to the cab driver. He slowly towards the lift, he pressed the button on the lift and gets into the lift as soon as the doors open. Minah feels like she is exploding. She can't wait for Joseph to talk.

As soon as they arrived on the 77th floor, Minah and Joseph walk out of the lift. Joseph strolling, Minah feels like straggling him, "Can you move faster?"

Joseph says, "I am exhausted."

He walks toward room #7705. He opens the door, ambled towards the bed, and falls on it. He grabbed a pillow and lay his head on the pillow, "What do you want now?"

Minah says, "Ok, you have a rest. I think that the collaboration between you and the journalist from China is a good idea. I just never expected you to be that smart."

Joseph says, "Before I leave Bangkok, I will make sure that I will post a blog about them. As long as I am here, they cannot track me from the IP address, "

Minah asked, "You are right. But better not post from the hotel, because they may find your information from the guest list."

Joseph says, "I know. I won't be that silly. I will do it at Suvarnabhumi Airport" he chuckled.

Minah says, "The passenger list?"

Joseph says, "You think too much! There are so many people travelling from Seoul to Bangkok. It's like searching for a needle in an ocean"

They can hear a door slamming in the room of Joseph and Minah. Minah walks out from the room to check out. She sees nobody. She can hear the noises coming from Sarah's room. She went into Sarah's room, Sarah is throwing her clothes, blanket, pillows and yelling at the same time.

Sarah took her phone and call Jayden. When Jayden picks up the phone, Sarah spoke, "Jayden, they publish the news about me and the politician in China. Please contact them to request them to remove the article"

Over the phone, Jayden tells Sarah, "Extend your stay in Bangkok for a few more days. I will handle the situation"

Minah quickly goes back to Joseph's room and tells him, "The Chinese journalist is quick, they published recently the news. Sarah is asking Jayden to contact them to remove the article. Is this guy trustworthy?"

Joseph grabbed his phone and start looking into the news. He sees the news about the politician's scandal with the actresses. They make a screenshot of Gavin and Sarah wearing robes standing in front of the hotel room as a photo on the news He chuckled, and says, "He is quick! I wasn't expecting that he will publish it so soon"

Minah asked, "I am telling you Jayden will contact them to remove the news!"

Joseph says, "Calm down! This Eric is a legend. He will remove nothing! I am sure he is waiting for more information from me! But it's a shame, it credits this million view news to him" Joseph chuckled.

Minah says, "I do not know him."

Joseph says, "He is one famous reporter that has exposed many scandals. He lives his fame with such a reputation."

Minah stares at Joseph.

Joseph continues, "I will explain to you now. I have a good friend working in the police department. Every time he catches a criminal, the top-ranking officers will always tell my friend to stop the investigation. With news spread, I am sure the citizens will protest. No matter how much money they would spend to stop the news, the citizens will continue to protest. They say that money is power, the actual power is unity! The unity of the people will pressure the top official to pursue a proper investigation!"

Minah says, "Let's hope this Eric will not remove the news"

Joseph says, "I am sure he won't because I have hinted to him there is more to it. He just added me on the WeChat messenger as a contact. We will keep in touch from time to time."

Joseph took his messenger back and walks toward the door in the hotel room.

"Where are you going?" Minah asked.

Joseph touched his stomach and answered, "Err... Hungry, I need to get some food!"

Minah smiled and followed him.

They took the lift to get to the ground floor of the hotel.

When they reached the ground floor, he caught a glimpse of Eric lighting a cigarette on the ground floor of his hotel together with his crews. He walks toward him to greet him.

Joseph padded on Eric's shoulder, "You are great! I didn't expect the news published within an hour!"

Eric laughed gently and says, "Technology today, we can do everything quickly!"

Eric continues to ask, "Where are you heading?"

Joseph says, "I was planning to grab a bite. With the money you gave me, I could get a taste of the Thai food! Do you want to join me?"

Eric nodded his head and speaks to his crew in Chinese, telling them he will go for food with Joseph.

They walk through a narrow road behind the hotel and found some restaurants.

Eric recommended Joseph to try the local food at the stall. They rested in a stall to try out one dish.

The weather is hot in the afternoon. Nearly everywhere on their faces and necks have drenched with sweat.

Joseph asked, "Do you travel here often? You seem very familiar."

Eric says, "For work, yes. By the way, the hotel bill you showed me earlier tells me you are staying here at the Royal Hotel. I come here to give you a piece of advice."

Joseph looked at Eric and asked, "What is it?"

Eric says, "The politicians are powerful people. They likely will try to find out who is the person who took a photo from the CCTV."

Joseph says, "You are right! I didn't think that far!"
