Dead-end

"Well, who is it?" Rose asked, Hiding behind Lunar.

"Birk? Astar?! What are you doing here!"

"Serai! Thank god you're ok. Is anyone else with you?" Birk asked, running towards her.

"She's with us, where are the others?" Lunar stepped out from around the corner.

"Is everyone ok?" asked Rose,

"yea everyone's fine, they went into the underground tunnels while we went to look for you guys," Aster explained.

"Well at least everyone ok," Lunar sighed in relief.

"How about let's find a way to get out instead of worrying about the others, they're probably safer than us right now," declared Rose.

"She's right, if we keep worrying about the others, we'll never get out" stated Serai.

"Right then let's get on with it, we all know that the cave does something to people that messes with their head," Lunar exclaimed.

"So the sooner we're out the better," stated Rose.

"Good luck, this place is like a maze, it has twists and turns everywhere, we've been in this place forever and we got no farther than we started, I don't even know when the main exit is anymore," declared Aster

"I know where it is, it's right over he-- hu?" Rose cut her sentence short.

"What's wrong?" asked Serai

"That's weird, I could've sworn the entrants was right here, right?" Rose asked walking up to a dead-end

"Yea I thought it was too. That's weird."

"Well whether it was or wasn't doesn't help us, we need to find another way out so let's start on this tunnel," Lunar said, walking over to one of the multiple tunnels.

"We should mark the tunnel somehow, so we know which tunnel's we've taken," said Rose.

"Good idea, but how?" asked Birk.

"Does someone have a knife, or something sharp?" Lunar asked.

"I have my pocketknife, will that work?" Serai asked pulling out her knife.

"Yea it will. Run the blade of it along the side of the cave so it leaves a mark," Lunar told Serai.

"Ok,"

"now let's go." After what seemed like hours of walking in the dark, gloomy, red tunnel, they came back to the cave where they found Birk and Aster.

"Back where we started I guess," said Astar

"let's try the middle tunnel now I guess," said Lunar already leading them towards it. The middle tunnel was just like the first, it had twists and turns, as well as split-offs where the original tunnel split off into two or three separate tunnels.

"I hate these split-offs, they're making me feel lost," Birk shivered.

"same," replied Rose. After a long time of walking, they came to a dead-end,

"well, that sucks. I guess we have to go back now," said Rose

"It looks like we will be using the marks you've been making Serai." Said lunar. but when they were following the mark that Serai made it suddenly led up to the roof of the tunnel.

"that's weird," said Lunar

"How did you do that Serai?" Birk asked

"I-I didn't," said Serai

"Well, how else did the mark make it up there?" asked Rose

"do you think it just flue up there?" Aster snapped.

"You were supposed to be doing something helpful, not just messing around," Rose said coldly.

"I wasn't, I swear!" Serai tried to defend herself, but before she knew it all four of them erupted into an argument.

"Stop arguing!" Lunar yelled.

"Really we shouldn't be arguing in this situation,"

"well because of your little girlfriend, we're probably lost now, cause she was messing around," Aster snapped at Lunar.

"No, cause she didn't do it. If you would use the one last brain cell you have left, you'd see the mark goes all the way to the roof" stated Lunar

"So?" asked Rose

"Serai is shorter than me, and the roof of the tunnel is almost 13 feet high. So she couldn't possibly reach it, even if she jumped" Lunar told them.

"I guess, I'm sorry," Rose apologized after looking at the roof than at Serai,

"Yeah, I'm sorry too,"

"me too" Birk and Aster apologized.

"It's ok, I'm sorry for arguing too, and thanks for defending me Lunar," Serai responded

"now let's go, we can find our way without the marks," he declared. But when they started walking again, Serai noticed something 'that's weird, we haven't passed by any split-offs yet, we should have passed by at least two by now.'

"hey have you guys noticed we haven't passed any split-offs?" she asked,

"what split-offs?" Birk asked.

"What do you mean, what split-offs, the ones we kept passing by," said Lunar.

"there were no split-offs," Rose stated

"I have to agree with Rose and Birk, I don't remember any split-offs," stated Aster.

"Are you kidding me? We passed by like five of them, don't tell me you forgot." Serai responded.

"No, I really don't remember any split-offs" stated Aster. Serai and Lunar looked at each other with confusion before Lunar told Serai,

"It must be the cave, we got to get out of here fast."

"yea it probably is. Let's go." They walked for a bit longer before walking into a dead-end

"what? this doesn't make any sense!" stated Serai,

"We didn't make a wrong turn or something right?" Rose asked.

"There wasn't even anywhere to make a wrong turn!" Birk snaped

"I see now, the tunnel shapeshifts, that's why no one ever comes back out," said Lunar

"well that makes a little more sense, I guess," said Serai.

"Well that just fucking sucks," Rose said.

"Wait a minute, where is Aster!" asked Birk

"he's right he- where did he go! He was just right here! We need to find him!" Rose panicked, already running off into the tunnel.

"let's go!" Lunar said as he started running after her, Serai and Birk followed them, calling out Asters name in hope that they would find something indicating that he was there.

"It's no use guys, he's gone," Serai was out of breath from yelling and running.

"Guys?!" she said once more after realizing that she was alone in the dark, gloomy, red tunnel. Turning around she ran back the way she came, calling out their names hoping she wasn't alone.

"Hello? Is anyone there?" She asked racing through the tunnel till suddenly, the ground vanished from beneath her, and she felt herself plunge into deep, cold water.
