Diver POV
"Done!" Aloha says, throwing down the notebook. "Now, just to set up. What about you Diver, you done yet?" He asks.
"Nah, I need just another moment. What about you Army?" I ask, turning to the other boy. He sets down the notebook and smiles at Aloha before nodding to me.
"I'm finished." He says. They were both in a really good mood every since they both came downstairs together. I wondered what put them in such a mood? I didn't bother them as I continued to sketch out the layout of the party. I finished and handed it to Aloha who looked it over, smiling.
"Nice, that'll do. Are the girls almost done? Are they heading back?" He asks me, handing it back to me. I take it from him and take out my phone.
"Yes, they should be-" I was cut off by a knock. Knock, knock, knock. "Hello~?" Straw calls from outside the door. Aloha jumps up and opens the door for them. They smile at him and walk inside with their hands full of bags from different places. I raised an eyebrow at them. Aloha helps them by taking some of the things from them and shutting the door. Army gets up to lock the door behind them.
That's when we started going full speed. We all posted the party invite and a lot of people had already said they were going to come so we had to hurry it up. We moved furniture out of the way and into different rooms which Aloha locked. He had the key to them so it was easy to keep them locked. I helped to hang things up and decorate the place. We decorated the place with banners of pinks, oranges, reds, and greens. It was nearing seven pm when we finished. Aloha sat on the floor his back to the wall, sighing.
"Everything's done?" He asks. Army was double-checking all the doors, making sure they were locked. "We got the banners. The table's set up...and you have the music set up, yeah?" Aloha asks me. I nod to him, before touching the board, it started playing a random song, which I recognized as, "Thrift Shop" by Macklemore. I snickered as Aloha rolled his eyes at the song. I cut it off.
"We're done." Army tells Aloha, sitting down next to him. Army intertwined his hand with Aloha's. I smiled to myself and turned away, to the girl's. "You girls good?" I ask them. Octoglasses sat in a foldable chair next to the table of snacks and drinks. She was on her phone, she peeks up then back down, nodding. "Yeah, I'm good. You Straw?"
"All good here. Well, except for the fact that I need help hanging this up. Help, please, Diver?" She asks, turning to me with puppy eyes. I sigh in defeat and take the streamer from her, standing on-top of a chair and hanging it up for her. I jumped off the chair and gave her a thumbs-up, which she returned.
We all hung out for about thirty minutes, resting. The party still wasn't for another thirty minutes from now anyway. I turned to Aloha and Army, about to say something but Army quietly said, "Shh!" I blinked and looked to Aloha. He was asleep, his phone slipping from his grasp, his head resting on Army's shoulder. He looked peaceful. I smile at Army and mouth, "You two are cute". Army glares and mouth's, "You be quiet" to me. I snicker quietly before walking off.
"I thought you were going to talk to Aloha?" Straw interrogates.
"He's asleep," I admit.
"Oh. Wait. What?" She asks. "He's asleep? Doesn't that mean he-" I cut her off.
"Yup. He fell asleep on Army's shoulder. It's adorable," I tell her. She silently squeals in excitement. We'd been shipping those two for months now.
"We can probably hang out for a little while longer. I mean the party isn't until...thirty more minutes. People will start to come, let's get everything turned on. I'll let Aloha sleep as long as we can but it won't be for long, probably," I tell the two. They get up and help me with everything. We turned on all the electronics and dimmed the lights down low, turning on the colorful lights instead, they weren't very bright.
Then, at 7:45 pm, a knock came at the door. I got up to answer it. It was Team Blue. "Welcome! Come on in!" I greet, opening the door for them to come in. They do so and we start chatting but more people were coming, I went to wake up Aloha to find him awake, seeming he just woke up, and Army with his hand in Aloha's once more. Aloha waves to me, the sleepiness wearing off.
"You can go ahead and start the music, it's fine." Aloha tells me. I smile and rush to the DJ station to start the music. More people came and soon it was a true party. The kind of party that us, Team Pink, were known so well for. I kept up the music, then put it on autoplay and went off to find the girls. They were dancing and I joined them. Everything was going as planned! It was truly calming and fun to have a party!
Army POV
I lost Aloha in the large crowd. I wasn't too worried about it, though. He was used to these kinds of things and it didn't worry me that he was in a large crowd, he was right at home with these kinds of huge events. I decided I would go upstairs and into his room. He let me go through his stuff. Unlike others, the only secrets he has are in his notebook...which...I kind of already read...ahem. Anyway, he didn't care after that. I could hear the music from upstairs but not so loud. I locked the door behind me and clicked on the lights. I just decided to sit on the bed and pull out one of his album books. He kept pictures of his team, of us, and his battles and friends. I grabbed a random one and flipped through it.
Underneath the picture was Octoglasses's handwriting it read, 'Selfie with Loa~!' I smiled at it and flipped through the next few pictures. It was nice to see Aloha and his teammates having such fun at the beach or during training. There was one where they pranked Aloha and dunked him in pink paint. I snickered and flipped the next page. There was two pictures, one over the other and writing to the side. It was Aloha's. Some writing was scribbled out.
I pulled the picture out from behind the one I could see. It was Aloha, he seemed distant, upset, even. I frowned slightly and looked to the scribbled out writing...it was hard to read but I could read it...just barely...it read, 'It gets lonely...I do things I don't like doing when I'm alone...I think too much when I'm alone. I don't like it.' In the picture, he was wearing long sleeves and he seemed paler than normal. I frowned, not wanting to think about what he did. I put the picture back. He crossed it out...hm, I looked at the second picture. He was with me and beaming brightly. The new writing read, 'I don't do that anymore. I found someone worth hanging out with and spending all my time with. I hope he feels the same way.' There was a tiny heart beside it. I smiled. He was so sweet...
I flipped the page and found a picture that took up a whole page, even though it wasn't that big. He tagged it as, 'My favorite person in the whole world ♥️!'
I felt my face heat up. How did he get that picture? Oh...do I really care? I'm glad he did... I smile and grabbed a pen beside the desk. The rest of the book was blank. I had a picture of Aloha... many of them. I wrote something on the next page, titled, 'I love you ♥️'. I smiled and signed my name under it in the neatest writing I could manage, which was perfect. I then slipped the picture in it's place.
I closed the book and set it beside me on the bed. I wonder where he's at anyway. I stood up, leaving the book there and heading out of his room, making sure to lock it behind me. I didn't want anyone other than him and I in there. It was his personal stuff. Nobody else needed to be in that room. I walked down the stairs, looking for Aloha. I went through the large crowd and found him standing with someone else.
The person was holding Aloha by the wrist, Aloha pulled his wrist from the person, seemingly angrily. I hurried over to them, but, it was difficult to get past so many people. I eventually did, though, Aloha seemed upset. I ran up to him, grabbing him by the shoulders from behind. He jumped in fear and turned around. His eyes wide and scared, when he saw me he calmed down a bit. I looked to the squid who stood behind him. I wrapped my arms around Aloha, who accepted the hug.
"Who're you?" I snap at the squid. "Tell me, now!" I demand.
"Nobody." They say, simply. They had a hoodie and looked beyond suspicious. Diver had noticed the person too, I looked to him and nodded to the person. Diver seemed to understand because him, Straw, and Octo all went over to the person and made them leave the party.
I led Aloha upstairs and into his room. We sat on his bed. "You okay?" I ask him. He nods, silently. "...What did they say?" I ask him. He looked to the floor then back up to me.
"They...um...nothing...It's-" I cut him off. He looks away from me, looking straight forward.
"It is. You're upset. Won't you tell me?" I ask him. He leans on me. I let him, wrapping my arm around his shoulder.
"They said that they were going to hurt me..." He barely just whispered. If he wasn't so close to me, I wouldn't have heard. "Then they were going to hurt you..." He tells me. I think for a moment. Did Aloha have any enemies that would go that far? It didn't sound like an X-Blood member so probably not...Besides Vintage had limits. He's not that cold-hearted.
"That won't happen. We have each other and our friends, don't we?" I ask him. He looks up at me, then smiles a thankful smile.
"Yeah, we do..." He says. Then, suddenly, he hugs me. I do not hesitate to hug him back, smiling brightly. He sits up, happier than he was before, smiling at me.
"Do you wanna go back down...?" I ask him, hesitantly. He looks at the ground for a moment before nodding.
"Yeah, I won't let one person ruin this night~!" He chimes, happily. He grabs my hand and pulls me up with him. Then, he kisses me on the cheek before running off. I chase after him, laughing.
I follow him outside where the pool was. Nobody was outside. He was standing beside the pool, looking up at the sky. I smiled and snuck over to him, pushing him into the pool. He shouted and resurfaced quickly before glaring at me and splashing me. "Ah!" I shout, jumping back from the icy water. He laughed and climbs out before taking off his button-up. He had a black tank top on underneath. He slipped off his shoes and jumps into the pool this time.
I watched him. He smiles at me before attempting to splash me once more. I took off my shoes and jacket and followed him in. We splashed the holy cod out of each other. Both soaked and laughing. He then goes underwater. I look around, for the pink color I was so familiar with. Then, he pulls me under with him. He points at the bottom of the pool. There was a design on the floor. It was a dolphin, I realized. He swims down to it and touches the dolphin's nose, the pool was filled with light suddenly. The dolphin glowed and it turned on the side lights. He swam back to the surface, I followed him.
"Hah...see? Isn't it pretty now?" He asks, joyfully. I couldn't help but be happy around him. He makes it very hard to be upset around. It was impossible. I smile at him. Then, splash him. He shouts as the icy water splashes him and laughs. His laugh rang through the air. I then climb out of the pool with him behind me. We sit down beside it, instead.
"That was...fun," I say, honestly. I didn't think I could like parties but I did. I really did.
"It was~!" He says. "We should do it again! See? Parties can be fun!" He tells me. The pool lights were still on. I wondered if he had to go under to turn them on and off every time or if there was another switch. He probably wouldn't mind going under the icy waters again, to be honest.
He yawns but tried to cover it up. I raise an eyebrow at him.
"What?" He asks.
"Nothing," I reply. He tilts his head, confused. I smile and turn away. "It's nothing."
"Okay, then, I'll go get towels. You probably don't want to stay wet, it's supposed to get colder tonight." He says, about to get up, I grab his wrist.
"It's fine...stay," I tell him. He stays put and we sit there for a while. I don't know how long. Eventually we both got up and went inside. We were dry by that point. It was nearly midnight. It had gotten less crowded but it was still a party so there were lots of people still.
I don't remember much after walking inside with Aloha. We got drunk, I know that, he had lots of drinks. We danced some. He was good at dancing...well, duh. I remember it being around five thirty in the morning when we went upstairs, Aloha was slurring his words by that point and was spouting nonsense. I didn't even understand it when I was drunk. I remember nothing after that. Not a thing at all...
I woke up when the sunlight drifted in through the window, into my face. I groaned and looked over to my side. Aloha was asleep, snuggled up to me. His arm was across me, my arm was around his shoulders. His tentacles were down, his blue shirt on the floor next to his sneakers. My coat was folded next to my boots which were next to his stuff on the floor.
I looked over and saw my phone on the bedside table alongside his. I grab my phone, carefully. Aloha whined, still unconscious. I froze for a moment and made sure he was still asleep before moving once more. I just opened my phone and scrolled through social media. There were lots of people tagging pictures to Aloha from the party. Even Goggles had pictures up from the party. Red Sole was even there, although I never saw her. She tagged Aloha in a picture, saying 'I had a blast!! I loved it!! Great job, Aloha!!' I smiled, knowing everyone had a great time and that everyone could just be nice for one night so that everyone could have fun.
I kept on scrolling until Aloha stirred awake. I cut off my phone as he looked up at me. He still looked tired. "Mm...sorry..." He muttered. He gets off me, grabbing his head.
"You good?" I ask him. He nods.
"Yeah, I'm used to it...ahh...but this one's the worst this month...by far..." He mutters. I get up heading downstairs. I go into the kitchen. I grabbed some ibuprofen for Aloha before heading back upstairs. He hadn't moved since I left. I set the bottle on the bed, beside him. He looks at it then grabs it, sitting up slowly. He looked ill. I wondered how much he did drank last night...
I left him alone to go downstairs. I heard soft snoring from the guest room downstairs. I assumed Team Pink stayed over. The door opened slightly and I saw Octo creeping quietly from the room, shutting the door behind her.
She turns and sees me. She smiles and walks up to me. "Up early, huh?" She asks, snickering. I glanced to the clock. It was only eleven thirty in the morning. We only slept for around six hours. So, for us it was really early to be awake.
"Oh, yeah, I didn't realize the time..." I say.
"Where's Loa? I'm sure he's awake if you are." Octo says, teasingly.
"He is. He's not feeling well so he's upstairs, I guess he has a huge hangover from last night's party. He seems ill almost," I explain to her.
"Ah, Diver's the same way when he drinks too much. Aloha practically drowned himself in that stuff. Geez. I don't even know how you got him to bed. He was slurring and saying the most random things. He seemed to want to stay near you, though." She says, shrugging. "Do you want to cook?" She asks. "I was going to cook to wake everyone up and get everyone moving. Can you help me? I heard you were really good at cooking." Octo says. "Please?" She asks.
"Sure, I'll help. Just let me check on Aloha really quick," I tell her. She nods and goes off to the kitchen, presumable to get everything ready. I walk up the stairs to Aloha's room, pushing open the door. He was underneath the covers, curled up. I gave him a sympathetic look and walked over, turning off the lamp and the pulling closed the curtains even tighter, to keep the light out. I looked around, it was nice and dark now. He poked his head out from underneath the covers.
"Thanks..." He tells me. I nod.
"Of course, did you take it?" I ask him. He nods. I smile at him. "Okay, you might want to get some sleep though," I tell him. He pulls up the covers, up to his nose and closes his eyes. I walk out of the room, shutting the door silently. I went back downstairs to Octo.
She had pulled out the things we needed to make food and I clicked on the stove. "Alright, let's get cooking~!" She chirps.
Aloha POV
I fell back to sleep after Army left. When I woke up, my headache was just barely there. It had gone away from the medicine Army gave me. I sat up, still in the dark. I forced myself to get up and get changed into new clothes. I left my tentacles down because I couldn't find my ties anywhere. I don't remember where I put it at...I sighed and left them down, instead.
I picked up my button shirt from the ground and put it on, without buttoning it up. I pulled on my shoes. Then, stood up. Where the heck is my visor? I looked around the dark room. Oh great. That's gone too...whatever. I don't care right now. I left the room, I could smell someone cooking, I assumed it was Army or Octo. I could hear snoring too. I assumed the snoring was Diver and Straw...probably. I walked down the stairs.
I saw Army finishing cooking while Octo was cleaning up their mess. Then, Army clicks off the stove. I nearly tripped because I wasn't watching what the hell I was doing. I stumbled forward a little bit. Army turned around. "Haha, Aloha, please be careful. Let's try not to break a bone today, okay?" He teases. I glare playfully at him.
"I'm not going to break anything! I just nearly tripped! I didn't trip...yet..." I muttered the last part, the 'yet'. Army still heard and laughed.
"YET? How about we don't do it at all!" Octo said. "I think everyone would prefer if we didn't have to visit the hospital...again, Aloha." She teases me. I rolled my eyes.
"It's been a while since I've done anything like that!" I defend myself.
"What? Like a few months?" Octo says, cocking an eyebrow at me. I cross my arms.
"T-That's long enough!" I whine to her. "Y-You leave me alone! That's longer than what I could be doing, isn't it?"
Army snickers at my childish behavior. I uncross my arms and walk up to him. Octo had turned around and was digging through the fridge. I quickly kissed Army's cheek and whispered, "Thank you," to him. He smiles.
"You seemed like you were in pain. I couldn't just leave you like that." He replies, calmly. I back off as Octo turns back around. She sets the milk on the counter and walks off to go get Diver and Straw. When she left, I hugged Army, wrapping my arms around his waist. He hugged me back, his arms around my own waist. I smiled at him. He returned the smile.
We split up as Diver and the others came back into the room. I had jumped away from Army when I heard their door click shut. Army snickered at my reaction. I smiled at him.
"So, we ready to start eating now that everyone's awake?" Octo asks, smiling. Diver and Straw looked like they had seen a ghost. I laughed, knowing Octo probably scared the living daylight's out of them.
