Happy, Splatoween! (Extra Chapter)

Aloha POV - 6:30 pm

I was slowly dreading the remainder of the day, I had nothing against Splatoween at all. That's not it, actually, I just...don't like it. Okay, I'm lying, I get scared really easily. I hate anything horror, this includes horror movies, and I usually don't go out on Splatoween because people purposely try to scare the living daylights out of you. I'm still only going because I don't want Army to think I had anything against it. I don't want him to think I'm a chicken...

My team and I were just finishing cleaning up after we held our Splatoween Party. We had decided to make it earlier on in the day because some people go trick-or-treating and they go to the Splatfest or they have to take their younger siblings trick-or-treating. So, we made the party from about 1:30 pm to 6 pm. We've been cleaning up for thirty minutes. We also held it light with the alcohol. I sighed, sweeping up streamers that had managed to fall from their places, I was starting to think someone was pulling them down, on purpose. I didn't really care if they did, I just hoped they weren't damaging the walls where some streamers hung or the ceiling.

"So!" Octo breaks the silence. "Who's excited for Splatoween?! I can't believe that it's today! It feels like October has just flown by, huh?" She says, a huge smile across her face. She loved Splatoween. It was her favorite holiday.

I stayed quiet but Diver smiled, looking up at her, "Yeah! You bet! I think we're all excited! But, I seriously cannot wait for tonight! It's going to be so much fun!" Diver says, laughing lightly. I frowned. Tonight is what I've been dreading for the past week.

"Something wrong, Aloha?" Straw asks me, snapping me from my thoughts.

"Huh?" I ask, turning to her. She looked at me, expectantly. "Nope~!" I chime, smiling at her. She returns the smile before continuing to sweep like nothing just happened.

Diver and Octo just blabbed on about how excited they were and how much they wish it was already time to go. I sighed and continued cleaning up. It wasn't until around 7:10 that we got done with the cleaning. That was when Army texted me.

"Hm? Is it Army? Are we going to meet up with them yet!?" Octo asks, eagerly. She gets closer, jumping up in down in pure joy. I step back from her.

"Wait, I haven't even turned on phone yet-" She cuts me off.

"Reeeaaaadddd itttt!!" She shouts before running over to Straw and Diver. I turned on my phone and looked at the message. Meet you there in ten? I mentally cursed myself for agreeing before answering a quick, Sure thing! Cya there! I turned to my team, who somehow knew what I was going to say and they cheered.

"Yaayy~!" Octo chirps, running to the spare room before I even said anything. I stared after her.

"It is time to go, isn't it?" Straw asks, beaming with excitement. I nod and she runs off after Octo. They were staying with me this Halloween so we could have the party and then head over to meet Army.

We all we're going to do something "fun" together. It was usually just me and my team but with Army around, they agreed to let him come along. They said they had absolutely no problem with it. I really appreciated it.

Diver waited for the girls to come out, in their costumes before he went off. I went upstairs to my room. The girl's were forcing everyone to dress up, I didn't like it, not one bit, but, if it kept them distracted and their attention off of me then whatever.

We all got changed into our costumes before heading out. Octo was dressed up as a witch, Straw as a friendly non-gory zombie, as she put it, Diver was a ghost with a scythe, and me as werewolf. "Ahh! We all look so cute~!" Octo sang, happily. Straw snickers, nodding.

Octo and Straw skipped along beside us, to our meeting place with Army. Oh, did I forget to mention that Octo also got Forge to make Army dress up too? Apparently Forge was going over to her family's place for Splatoween dressed up so she got Forge to make sure their captain dressed up too.

I could see Army. He caught my gaze and walked up, smiling at us. He was a vampire. "Hello!" He greets us, Octo skipped up and squealed. He looked at her like she was crazy then to me, with a worried look. "Is she okay?" He asks me. I look at Octo who was still squealing and fangirling like a child in a sugar rush. She hadn't even had any candy yet...

"Yeah, she'll be fine. She does this every year. Last year she creeped out Mask with her obnoxious fangirling. She also scared some poor little inkling kids. Emperor just recorded the whole thing," I admit, shrugging. Army snickers.

"Really? He just recorded it? So, is this a normal thing for her to do?" He asks me. I nod.

"AHHH! IT'S THE CRAZY GIRL FROM LAST YEAR!! RUN!!" A little kid runs past us with two others following them. They were all screaming. I stared as they ran off and Octo chased them.

"O-Octo!" I snap at her. "Quit terrorizing the little kids!" I tell her. She picked one up, snuggling the little kid. The kid must've only been about nine or ten years old. Poor kid...

"I'm not terrorizing them!" She defends. "Aww! You are just the cutest little Zombie~!" She chirps, snuggling the little one again. I walk up to her and take the child from her, setting them back down. They did not hesitate to run. She nearly ran off after another kid but Diver grabbed her. "Aww~! But look at them!!" She says, kicking back and forth as Diver lifts her off her feet. "Put me down! I just wanna snuggle them!!"

"You're terrorizing them!" I tell her, pointing at one kid who was just standing their shaking to the point you could visibly notice their shaking. "Quit it!" I tell her. She just laughs and continues trying to kick Diver so he'd put her down. He did not put her down.

Then, someone points at her and laughs, Diver puts her down but kept a grip on her wrist. She pouted like a little kid but followed after him as he made his way over to us once more. A group of younger teens. Just a little younger than us, pointed and laughed at Octo. Then, they stated shouting things at her like, "weirdo" or "terrorizer".

I turned to the kids, glaring. "Leave her alone," I tell them.

"Who're you? You can't tell us what to do!" A blue kid asks, crossing his arms and sticking out his tongue at me. I glared at him and he glared back.

Army walks over to me. "Please, don't start a fight, Aloha." He says. One of the kids stops laughing. I look at him, he had a smug grin. Oh. Ohh, I knew what he was doing.

"Why not, Army? They keep calling Octoglasses names," I say. All the kids stopped laughing by this point and instead were looking between us both.

"Are you apart of the S4!?" The pink one asks. Her eyes were sparkling, practically, and she looked at us in awe. "W-Wait! So, that means that you're Aloha from Team Pink and you're Army from Team Orange!!" She cheers. "I love the S4!"

She was dressed up at a cat-witch. She had a huge smile. "We're sorry for saying such mean things, aren't we?" She asks, turning to the group. They all nod urgently. I smile at them.

"Just try to be nice, okay? Being nice is better than being mean," I tell them. They nod.

"But, doesn't Mask think that being nice to everyone is bullsh-" I cut the purple girl off.

"Don't say that! No! No, he does not! He's just...um...a liar! Don't mind him, he has fun despite what he says! He has lots of fun! Especially with Skull! They're good friends!" I tell her. She nods.

"What's wrong with saying bu-"

"It's a bad word!" Army interrupts her. I nod urgently.

"Let's not say that," I say, patting her head. "Okay?"

"Why not? Don't you say cuss words? I heard you in one of your battles. You said, 'damn'." She says. Army looks at me.

"Whhatt? What're you talking about? You must've misheard me!" I say. Army raised an eyebrow at me.

"Uh-oh, you're in troooouuubbbbllleee!" The girl chimes.

"Am not!" I say, crossing my arms, and glaring at her.

"Are too! I can quote you! It was on his last battle, yesterday! The last public one, at least, he had just been splatted and sent back to spawn because he got distracted by Diver who didn't intend to do that but, Aloha said, "Damn, that was so uncool" before he went back out to battle." She says, matter-of-factly.

"Aloha?" Army asks. I jump slightly and slowly turn to him.

"Yeeess?" I ask him, a nervous smile on my face.

"If you cuss again in battle- to the point where a child can hear you- I swear to cod, you'll have it coming to you!" He says, smacking me on the back of the head, lightly.

"Yes, sir," I mutter. He glares at me for a moment, scoldingly, then turns to the girl.

"Don't worry, Aloha won't say it again." He smiles at her. She smiles back, nodding.

"Good! Cuz mommy said he shouldn't say such things!" She says. "...oh there's mommy! I have to go! Bye-bye!" She waves and runs off, her group following her. Army waves after her.

I walk over to Diver and them, Octo had dragged them over to a haunted house. Oh no... I look at it. It was only for people over fourteen (14) years of age simply because of the idea of horror, jumpscares, fake gore and blood, and the such.

Octo then turns and grabs me and Army, pulling us into the house with them. I don't like things like this. I stood extra close to Army, who noticed. "Aloha, you good?" He asks. I turn to him.

"H-Huh? Yeah! I'm fine!" I lie, smiling. He gives me a suspicious look but doesn't bring it up again. We walked farther into the dark place. Octo, Straw, and Diver walked ahead of us by a few feet. Then, Octo screams. I look up. She got spooked by a clown. She calmed herself down, laughing and telling the clown, "Good one!" The clown laughs and smiles at her.

We continue walking, I kept my eyes on the floor until Army asks, "What're you looking at?" I look up at him. I glance to the ground then back to him. He glanced to the ground.

"Oh, there's fake blood on the ground. Haha, I didn't notice. It's a nice touch." He admits. I continued to keep my eyes on the ground until we got to the half-way point. It had a sign that let us split up into two different hallways.

The left sign said, "The Spook" and the right side said, "The Scare". A sign in the middle said, "You can go either way. You'll end up at the same place."

"I think that Straw, Diver and I should go right and Army and Aloha should go left!" Octo says. Then, they all run off down the right hallway. Army takes my hand and leads me down the left hallway. I could hear Diver and Straw scream from the other hallway. Then, shortly followed by Octo's scream. I could hear their faint laughter.

"You don't like this, do you?" Army asks me, now that we were alone.

"Don't like what? What're you talking about? Splatoween?" I ask him.

"Yes."

"I have nothing against Splatoween," I answer swiftly.

"That's not what I asked you. I said to do you like this or not?" He correct me, looking at me.

"I...I do. Splatoween is fine. It's fun," I lie. Then, someone jumped out in front of me. I shouted and jumped back, behind Army who snickered. I felt my face heat up. "T-That's not funny..." I insist to him.

He snickers, grabbing my hand again and pulling me behind him. I really didn't want to continue to go any farther. I tried to keep my eyes on the floor but when Army caught me he'd tell me to look up. I really didn't like him right now!

Then, he jumps back as someone runs in front of us, a ghost it looked like. We continued on, hearing Straw scream like all bloody murder while the other two laughed. "They seem to be having fun, huh?" Army asks me. "Why don't you like Splatoween?" He asks.

"Mmm...."

"Aloha, why don't you like it?" He asks, pulling me closer to him. I sigh.

"I don't like it because-" Another person jumps out in front of me this time with a chainsaw and I jumped backwards, screaming. I nearly fell but Army caught me. He looked spooked by that too. Army looked at me.

"-because you don't like getting scared?" He asks me, recovering from the person. I stared at the ground, embarrassed. Army hugs me, I look up at him but hug him back. He smiled at me.

"I get scared too, I don't know why you're so nervous about it. Did you not hear Team Pink screaming their heads off? Come on, we're almost done!" He says, before leading the way.

Diver POV

We heard Aloha scream. When I mean, I mean he literally screamed bloody-murder. I stopped for a moment. "Woah..." I mutter. "Is he okay?" I ask the girls.

"I dunno, he always seems to grudgingly agree to coming with us every Splatoween. I don't think he really likes being scared. He doesn't know what he's missing! This is amazing! I love being scared! Scare me again!" Octo yells. A zombie with a chainsaw jumps out and she screams like a little girl, running and hiding behind Straw who laughs at her.

"I-! I thought you wanted them to scare you!" Straw said, gasping for air as she couldn't stop laughing. I held back my snickers.

"Haha!! AGAIN! AGAIN!" Octo says, jumping up and down. She looked like she was about to fall over from fear but she still wanted to be scared some more. She ran past the confused as hell zombie and we follow after her.

We finished the hallway to see Aloha and Army. Aloha was looking around the place, untrusting and Army was snickering.

"Hey, what happened in there?" I ask, teasingly.

Aloha glares at me. "Nothing happened....nothing at all." He looks at Army who keeps quiet, snickering.

I shake my head, "Sure, we could hear you scream, Loa," I tease. He glares at me again, before turning towards the next thing. A long hallway filled with mirrors.

"So, who's going first?" Straw asks, looking down it. "That's a death trap, I'm not doing it." She explains. "Mirrors are a big no-no."

"I WILL!" Octo yells running down the hallway. We all jump and run after her.

Army POV

Aloha darted after his teammate, Octo, not wanting her to get lost. I followed him with the others right behind us. We all ran through the long hallway that just seemed to get longer. It was probably just all the mirrors that were messing with my head. Aloha was right behind Octo who kept running despite his attempts to get her to slow down or stop. She didn't listen. They both turned the corner. It was quiet for a moment then, Octo and Aloha both scream bloody-murder at the same time. They both jumped back into view, staring in pure horror.

Straw saw this, she was behind me with Diver. He looked too. I went up to the two, who refused to move any further. I looked in front of them. Spiders. Even Straw and Diver looked like they were unwilling to go any further. I sighed.

"You're all scared of spiders?" I ask them. They all look at each other then slowly nod. "Huh. Okay, I'm sure there's another way around. Come on," I say, leading them away. Team Pink's afraid of spiders? All of them? That's news.

"Here, no spiders this way," I say and we all walked down a long hallway, that had skulls on the walls. It kind of reminded me of Day of the Dead with the style of the skulls. Sugar candy skulls, were they...? Something like that.

We continued down the long hallway that led out into a large graveyard styled place with a large sign that said, "The End! You lived...". I smiled at it. "The end," I repeated. Team Pink all smile at me, Octo cheers.

We left the horror house and back onto the streets. "Heya! Team Pink and Army!" I turned to see Headphones with Team Blue. They were all dressed up in something special. Bobble Hat was a priest, Headphones was a mummy, Specs was a knight, and Goggles was a pumpkin...no, I mean it. Goggles was dressed up as a pumpkin.

"You guys been through the horror house? Is it scary?" Headphones asks. "Bobble Hat wanted to do something scary."

"It is, we all liked it. Except for one of us," I answer, looking to Aloha was glared at me, playfully.

"Oh, good! Bobble Hat can get herself a good scare! She's been so excited for Splatoween!" Specs says. I smile and nod.

"You have fun!! Let's go, Bobble Hat!!!" Goggles says, waving before running off towards the Horror House.

"Ack! Guys! Wait!!" Headphones and Specs run after their friends. "Goodbye, you all!" Headphones calls over her shoulder, still running after her friends.

I turn to the rest of them. "So, what do you want to do now...?"

"I wanna watch horror movies tonight, but, I don't think it's dark enough yet." Straw sighs. I nod. "OH!" She shouts. "I got it! Why don't we head to the store and get some candy! Some for us and some to throw at trick-or-treaters!" She laughs.

"Pardon what?" I ask her.

"Did you just say...throw at them?" Aloha asks, confused. "You want to throw the candy at them?" He asks. Straw nods.

"Why not?" She asks.

"...Can you explain that?" Aloha asks.

"Oh, give it to them. I meant give it to them. See how those people have their candy bowl's out on their porch or how those people over there are standing on the sidewalk with candy in their hands giving to the trick-or-treaters?" She points out the people.

"Sure, that sounds like a much better idea," I say and we head over to the store to buy some candy. And by that I meant Team Pink went crazy on the candy while Aloha just watched them go crazy like a bunch of crazed children. He looked a little creeped out and a little shocked.

"Wow. Do they do this every year?" I ask him. He shakes his head, looking to me.

"Nope. First time she's suggested that." He admits, shrugging. "It's not a bad idea but- Octo! Don't scare them!" He yells to his teammate. Octo laughs, but let's the kids go.

Eventually, we went to the checkout and left the store with the candy. We then headed to downtown where Octo and Straw ran around giving candy out. They seemed happy enough. Aloha and I even helped them out. Though, the girls ran off out of sight with a bunch of candy to give out a while after that. Diver went after them to make sure Octo didn't torture anyone.

It wasn't until around ten thirty, the girls came back with Diver. Out of candy.

"My feet hurt from the heels..." Octo whined, looking down at her black boots. "Can we go to your home yet, Aloha?" She asks.

"Ooh! I wanna watch movies! It should be fun!" Straw agrees. "Plus, it's supposed to get colder over the next thirty minutes to an hour and drop even farther from then on." She says, looking at her phone.

"Colder? Yeah, no, I'm cold enough. We can go now, if it's alright with Army," Aloha says. I nod to him and he leads the way back to his place. It was dark and eerie when he kept all the lights off and the curtains shut.

"Ooh, nice and dark and creepy in here~!" Straw says, looking around the place. "What're we watching? Did you bring the movies, Octo?"

"You bet I did!" Octo replies with speed. We all sit down in the living room. I sat next to Aloha, obviously, on the couch while Octo and Straw insisted on sitting on the floor with Diver. They had spread pillows and blankets and comforters all over the floor and were laying on them as Octo put in the first movie. She had brought three just in case they didn't wanna watch one or if they needed another movie. It was honestly smart of her.

"First up-!" She says, clicking on the television and going to the movie. "A Nightmare on Squid Street!" She announces, and clicks play. I glanced over to Aloha, who seemed to be more interested in his phone then the movie, at the moment. I didn't blame him after what happened in the horror house, I can only assume that Octo just really enjoys getting the absolute hell scared out of her. She was smiling as the movie turned on.

Aloha POV

We were only about an hour into the movie, which I hadn't been watching. I was only listening to the screams and cries of pure terror as the movie's cast continued to die. I didn't feel like looking up. I wasn't a fan of horror or gore. Gore was just nasty. It's not that it scared me but it made me feel sick. I guess blood does the same thing for me. I don't like it.

So, instead, I was scrolling through social media, looking at all the pictures from Splatoween and avoiding the videos, of which I somehow knew there would be a jump-scare in. I'm good. Not tonight of all nights. I'm good.

Then, I got a message from Mask. That was kinda weird, considering he'd rather hang out with Skull and not me. I opened it anyway.

Mask: What're you doing? Did you guys already head back?

Aloha: Watchin horror

Mask: Oh. Have you spoken to Rider?

Aloha: No why?

Mask: Goggles is bothering Skull about how he can't find Rider. And how he lost you all and Army. I was kinda confused. So, I decided to text you. You always pick up your phone in ten minutes or less. Unless it's after three in the morning.

Aloha: How do u even know that???

Mask: I just do. You never answer after 3.

Aloha: When have I texted u at 3?

Mask: Last Tuesday when Army said that he couldn't find you. You texted me after I texted you four times. Then, after 3 you stopped responding until around noon the next day.

Aloha: Oh. I didn't remember that...

Mask: How do you not?

Aloha: Idc, I suppose. Why'd you text me about Rider? Doesn't he have squidgram or somethin? Inkchat? Just message him urself.

Mask: I don't have any of his social medias and before you say you don't, he's been to one of your stupid parties before, so, you do.

Aloha: Fine I'll look. Gimme a sec.

Mask: Okay, hurry, I don't want Goggles bothering me for much longer. I might accidentally hit him in the face if he keeps it up and say my hand slipped.

Aloha: Harsh...

I clicked out of the chat and went to my list on my phone. It had hundreds of contacts saved from Squidgram to Inkchat to Paintbook.

(Yes, yes, I do make up names for social medias. You're welcome. Here's the explanation to each one. Squidgram = Instagram, Inkchat = Snapchat, and Paintbook = Facebook. Carry on.)

I scrolled down to the letter "R". I kept them all in alphabetical order or I'd never be able to find anything at all. Sure enough, I did have Rider's socials.

Aloha: Found em. Want me to message him?

Mask: Yes. Message him.

Aloha: K, but it's prob nothin

Mask: I'm sure it's nothing, I don't care. I want Goggles off of me! Hurry up!

Aloha: K. Chill.

So, I went to Rider's Squidgram, which he was named, "Rider_S+_xX" not a bad name if you ask me, I just put my name as "Aloha_S4" which was pretty much true and short. I didn't like too long names that were hard to remember.

Aloha: Hey? U there? Goggles is annoying Mask. He's gonna kill Goggles. Answer if you don't want Goggles to die. Actually, just answer anyway.

Rider: What do you want, Aloha?

Aloha: Oh, ur not dead?

Rider: Why would I be DEAD?

Aloha: IDK???

Rider: You don't know? Why did you just assume I was dead? What the heck?

Aloha: Idk, idc. Just gtg tell Mask ur fine so he don't kill Goggles.

Rider: He'd better kill Goggles.

Aloha: No.

Rider: Yes, he can kill Goggles.

Aloha: No...

Rider: Yes. He really can.

Aloha: No, he really can't.

Rider: What's it matter to you?

Aloha: Mask would go to jail. He sucks and all but I need him to play turf as the S4.

Rider: Is that all you need him for?

Aloha: Pretty much. That and Army would kill me.

Rider: Then, why can't he go to jail for murdering Goggles?

Aloha: R u seriously askin me that ques?

Rider: Why do you text like that? And yes, I am asking you that question.

Aloha: Type like wha?

Rider: Weirdly. Answer the question.

Aloha: Army would kill me. He's looking at me weirdly rn and i don't need him 2 kill me. I don't text like anything. I don't know what ur talking about??

Rider: You really do text weird. Fine, I guess he can't go to jail. At least let him hit Goggles.

Aloha: I'm pretttyyy sure he already did that

Rider: Good. Well, I have to go. See ya, Aloha.

Aloha: Ttyl, Ride!

Rider: ...what?

I quietly snickered at Rider's confusion. That means, talk to you later, stupid. I went to Mask's contact and continued to text him.

Aloha: Rider's fine

Mask: Did you text him?

Aloha: Yes

Mask: What did he say?

Aloha: He wants u 2 kill him.

Mask: Who? Goggles?

Aloha: Yea

Mask: Consider it done.

Aloha: Don't do it. I don't want Army 2 kill me. plz don't, wait til later.

Mask: Fine, but next time you won't be able to save him, Aloha. I'm leaving to go to Skull. You have fun with your horror movies.

Aloha: I won't!

Mask: What? Was that a typo?

Aloha: No

Mask: You are weird. But, ok.

Aloha: Ur weird

I got off of my chats and went back to scrolling endlessly through the pictures. I was getting tired but I wasn't going to fall asleep just yet. I think I can hold out a little longer, at least.

Army POV

Aloha's phone was slipping from his grasp, his eyes closed. He had fallen asleep around ten minutes ago. So, I had moved him so he laid down next to me. He didn't object or say anything to me, so, I assumed he just wanted to sleep. I reached over and grabbed his phone before it fell to the ground. I turned it off and set it on the small sidetable beside the couch. I looked back to the movie, my arm laid across Aloha's shoulders. He slept on his side, facing the couch, not the tv, of which he purposely tried to avoid the entire movie.

I smiled slightly to myself as Octo played the second movie, "Saw Squid" (Saw). I closed my eyes and laid back into the couch. I sighed. Happy Splatoween...I let myself slip into a nice, peaceful sleep with Aloha beside me.
