Leonard looked at his mother, who stayed in his arms. "It's alright, mother. You'll get to rest soon, I'll get the vengeance for what they have done to you."
She looked at him with tears coming from her eyes. "But."
He looked at her. "I must cleanse the toxic in this paradise, it's time that I purify the filth of this beautiful town. I've heard enough false doctrine, seen enough burnings of the innocent. I will remedy their poison." She looked at the ground. "Besides, mother. We are to live in harmony, stand up for the world against the evil feeding from it. They have corrupted this world long enough, it's time I stand for what I believe is right. Not just for your sake, but also for Annette's safety. This is a war I'm fighting. I've been a lazy soldier for the past thirty years."
He looked at the wall that showed him and Annette in the bathroom. He smiled. "She's stayed by my side this whole time. She thinks she has hurt my feelings. But, she has brought joy into my life, a new hope, as well as a desire to change my ways."
"You should go back to her. I'm safe here. But Annette is alone in Silent Hill, go to her. We'll see each other again."
He looked at her with a smile, kissing her cheek, letting her go running towards the wall being absorbed into it.
Annette hugged Leonard as he wrapped his arm around her. "I'm alright, you can dry those tears now." She looked at him, shocked. "Why are you so shocked to see me?"
She wiped a tear from her eyes sitting on the floor as Leonard sat on his knees in front of her, placing a hand on her hair. "I thought you were."
"You thought I was dead? At first, it felt like I was dying. But it's strange what being on the verge of death will make someone do. I never wanted to fall in love with you, but now that I have it's going to take more than some injury like that to get me to submit to defeat."
She looked at him. "But the letter you sent, if you didn't want to fall in love with me, why did you send it?"
"I wanted to meet you in person. I had wanted a change. But, I never expected to fall this madly in love with you, you're but a fragile human, a woman with no skeleton's haunting her closet. However, you sit and comfort someone who is a murderer. An executioner at heart, a monster in human clothing. There is nothing Silent Hill can do to harm me."
She looked at me, then at the ground. "Did you want to kill me, is that why you brought me here?"
"I had planned on taking your innocence, then seducing you to join me in this realm. But now that I know your innocence has its unique flavor, it's the drug that keeps me stable. Your innocence is a liquid pool of paradise, a spring in the hot desert sun. You have taken my cold, dead heart and run away with it. And I did nothing to stop it, I'm forever yours."
She looked at him. "You brought me here out of ill intent?"
"Yes, I do it all the time. But you were the first that I had brought to this realm out of my lust, someone that I desired to have as my equal. Not as someone to punish for wicked deeds. You were the one that I would treasure, treat you like the queen I thought you deserved to be, but now you're the angel I vow to protect. I want to protect you with my life, no matter the cost."
She stood up. "So you will not let me go home again, are you? I'm always going to be trapped here like a bird. What about my family and my friends, I can't believe you would do this to me? Just so that you can find love, you are insane, you could have just asked me instead of resorting to this. How can I fall in love with you after learning this, please let me go home?"
She looked away from him as he looked at the floor, feeling his heart breaking. "You have always been free to leave. I've never caged you here." He stood up. "Please forgive me for taking up your time." he walked from the room, walking from the room, hiding his tears.
Moments later, he heard the living room door shut. He sank to his knees, screaming, standing to his feet, slinging furniture. With a sigh, he sank back to his knees, tears freely falling from his eyes.
Annette ran from the apartment, looking around, not knowing where to go. Then she sat on the bench, her heart breaking for the deception, but most of all her heart ached because though Leonard had tried to hide his tears. She saw them. His aura gave off his sincere hurt. He gave off an aura he had failed since she had met him, true love. A love that reaches his eyes, not just casually hid behind sly words. She sighed. A large part of her wanted to go heal his pain. But that small part of her felt that he wouldn't forgive her. She stood up, wrapping her arms around herself, walking away from the pharmacy in an attempt to find her way home.
She got to the sign that read 'Welcome to Silent Hill' seeing her car sitting like new engine running, she looked back walking to her car, getting inside it, seeing the letter lying in the passenger seat, but it was blank. She looked at it, then started her drive from Silent Hill, the road closing behind her.
