Chapter 4: Chidoriyama Junior High

After that tournament, I remembered in a different anime that there was a power called hawk eyes and eagle eyes. The people who could use this could see the court from a different perspective and the range determined which one it was. I thought that my power was quite similar so maybe it's something everyone can have if they raise their awareness up to a high enough point. Currently the range is quite small when I tried using it on my way home. I think that when I first grasped it, it was showing me what it could be if I trained it.

I told Noya about this and he had never heard about it. I thought about and it made sense with me being from a different world I have a different way of looking at things so maybe that was the trigger. Either way it's not hurting me, in fact it will be a tremendous help once I train it to a certain degree.

After that I started training hard for the next two years and it brought pretty good results. I can see about half the court if I stand on the baseline. I feel like I'm ready for the next step, Chidoriyama Junior High.

My parents understood my decision when I told them that Nishinoya was going there as well, we've been practically inseparable since we were kids. They weren't too worried for another reason as well, my four year old sister Yumi. When I started hanging out with Nishinoya they were by themselves a lot more so I can understand wanting another kid, and honestly I love my new sister. Yumi likes to stick with me and Noya, much to my parents annoyance, so we have grown attached to her.

In the Morning...

"Kai get up"

"Coming"

I rushed down the stairs and sat at the table. "Morning bro!" Said Yumi as she hugged me.

"Morning Yumi." I said with grogginess.

"Didn't get much sleep?" Asked my dad.

"No I was too excited to finally play on a middle school team last night and couldn't sleep." I answered

"Well make sure you do plenty of stretching before you start, we wouldn't want you to get injured." Said my mom bringing out the breakfast and drinks.

"Yea I always do." I replied while eating my food at an astonishing pace.

"Big bro, do you think you'll start this year!" Asked Yumi trying to peel an orange before I take it and peel it for her.

"Hmph, who do you think your big brother is I'm the best setter in this city." I replied smugly handing it back to her.

"Don't be arrogant, this team has played together for years. If you don't play your best and don't make it, you won't have anyone to blame but yourself." My dad warns.

"Don't worry dad I'll do my best." I said in a serious tone. "Alright I'm off, don't want to be late on the first day" I said walking out the door.

"Good luck." All three said as I leave the house.

On my way to meet up with Noya I start thinking,'It's never shown who else plays with Nishinoya in the anime or his coach I can wait to meet them.'

After that I get to the Yu household.

"Yo Noya, we got to go!" I yelled. I can hear him shuffling around in the house until I see him running at the door, "Bye mom and dad,"

"Bye," I hear as we walk down the street.

"So you think they'll be any good?" Asked Noya excitedly.

"I don't know, but they are a powerhouse middle school team." I replied while yawning.

"Hmph, I bet their Libero isn't nearly as good as me, watch out or you'll get left behind Kai." Noya said teasingly.

"Like I'm any worse than you." I replied jokingly.

We go back and forth at each other until we are finally standing in front of the school.

"Chidoriyama Junior High," I said while thinking,'I hope your ready for me, because here I come.'
