Today was the day we would set out for our training camp, rightfully dubbed, Hell Week. I walked into the gym and met up with Eichi and Araken. We talked for a while waiting for everyone else to show up. I tried to get Noya to come early with me but he wouldn't wake up, despite my best efforts.
One everyone finally got here, the coach began discussing what to expect for the next week. Sunday we would wake up at 5 for conditioning, at 7 we will do individual practice, and at 10 we will have a practice match with the Karasuno team subbing in different teams until lunch. Afterwords, we will run off our lunch for an hour, then at 2 we will do practice matches against the other teams until dinner, and finally rest for the next day to do it all over again.
We hand over our permission slips and head out to Kitagawa Daiichi. On the way me and Noya played on our handheld games. We brought them because we knew we would need them after practice because there's no tv in our rooms.
We arrive and I'm excited to see Oikawa and Iwaizumi again so I head inside with everyone, I spot Oikawa but before could call out to him I notice a tall purple uniformed player arguing with Oikawa. He had short brown hair and a tan complexion. I recognized him because he's one of the best players in Miyagi prefecture in Haikyu.
I walk up and hear what there arguing about. Apparently, Ushijima told Oikawa he would never go far with so much dead weight, or something along those lines. I have to reach pretty far but I tap on Ushijima's shoulders and say, "Aren't there better things you could be doing than arguing with an idiot."
Silence, everyone was looking and wondering who was so bold as to scold Ushijima. It was a well known fact that he was one of the best players in middle school. Satori Tendou, who was behind Ushijima, looked at me and narrowed his eyes.
Suddenly, laughter broke the silence as Iwaizumi was trying not to collapse after I called Oikawa an idiot in front of everyone. Oikawa was fuming and said, "Kai-Chan if you just came over to trash talk you can leave."
"I wasn't trash talking, I was stating a fact Shittykawa," I replied, while walking back to my team I added, "Can't wait to wipe that smug grin off your faces. Later Iwaizumi."
"Later." He said as he pulled Oikawa back to there team. Oikawa might look mad but he was still happy someone told off Mr. Perfect.
Ushijima just watched feeling pissed and when I left he asked Tendou, "Who was that."
Tendou looked over to Ushijima while smiling, "That's the cute little first year coach won't stop talking about wanting to recruit for high school, Scarlet-eyed Kai. He's certainly very annoying, don't you think Wakatoshi."
"Yeah." Ushijima said coldly.
"Well all these so called genius' are usually pretty arrogant until we put them down." Tendou added.
"But onto a more serious matter, when are you gonna return my 'Jump', Wakatoshi." Tendou asked.
"I'm still reading, 'Become Stronger in Just 30 Minutes'." Ushijima said.
"Why do you only read the ads." Tendou sighed at how weird his friends were.
I regroup with the team and we take a tour of Kitagawa's facilities. It was a pretty up to date facility. After we joined up and we were introduced to the other teams joining us.
"Over there you have Shiratorizawa with Ushijima being there ace spiker, and on the opposite side we have our host Kitagawa Daiichi with Oikawa as their ace setter. Karasuno will be here tomorrow as today we're just getting settled in." The instructor explained to us.
After we toured it was time for dinner, and me and Noya sat with Oikawa and Iwaizumi, after me convincing him. He had his reservations but soon everyone was joking around and we even hung out in my room playing games afterwords.
Once it hit late I kicked Oikawa and Iwaizumi out, and me and Noya went to sleep excitedly taking about playing against high school players.
